I had a fantastic stay at The Shilla Jesu. The location was great, with easy access to the beach and beautiful views. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The facilities were top. The Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable. Transportation options were limited. But overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its value for money, cleanliness, friendly and competent staff, and great facilities.
After visiting at the end of June, I returned this time for a 2-night stay with my children to enjoy a hotel vacation. While there are several hotels in the Jungmun area, I think this hotel is the only one that offers a variety of activities like the Shilla Hotel does. We had a great time visiting the nearby Pacific Resort, where we enjoyed fishing while riding a beautiful Shangri-La boat and also admired the columnar joints. Inside the hotel, we took family photos through the Sumbi Photo and now have a lovely frame to commemorate the moment. The children were very happy during the photo shoot. We used the pool and also bought snacks from the poolside bar. Even though we had The Parkview lunch consecutively, we never got tired of it, and it was great to enjoy fresh and delicious food. Before the summer ends, the mango bingsu was sweet and tasty. The staff's attitude is consistently marked by restrained kindness and sincerity, which instills trust. The room condition may not have the shine of a new hotel, but it was neatly organized, making our stay comfortable, and the bed was perfect for a good night's sleep. Walking in Sumbi Garden was leisurely and beautiful, with excellent gardening. It was also really exciting to see beautiful artworks and sculptures displayed in various places. On our way back after checking out, I made a reservation for a return visit this November. Visiting Jeju every two months and staying at the Shilla Hotel feels like it would be my second home. I believe it is the best hotel in Jeju.
I stayed at Shilla Jeju for the first time. First of all, the layout of the hotel is spacious, making it feel like I'm in a foreign country. The hotel interior is also spacious, so I didn't feel cramped, and there were times when live cello music was playing in the lobby, which was a delightful experience for my ears. The staff were very friendly, and during check-in, I was informed about a handmade craft workshop, so we participated in a handmade soap class on Wednesday. We created soap using fragrances inspired by camellias, which was the theme for February, and it turned out to be a wonderful memory. There is a heated pool that we used, and at night, there was an outdoor performance, allowing us to enjoy swimming while also experiencing an exciting show. Our room had an ocean view, making the scenery beautiful, and the garden was lovely, so we spent more than an hour just walking around. Watching the sea and breathing in the fresh air completely made me forget my daily worries and provided me with healing. Located in the Jungmun area, there were attractions and delicious restaurants nearby, making the location perfect. I would love to visit again next time.
The Shilla is truly a Luxe experience. So be prepared for that. As much as it is on the pricey end, the amenities and space are worth. They clean your room everyday. Be careful that there are things you have to pay for in your room, and also free items. The resort is structured in the way that you technically never need to leave the space. My package allowed me to eat breakfast and lunch at the resort buffet for 2 for free. The breakfast is 1000000% worth it. It is known in Korea that the Shilla has the best breakfast buffet. No takeaways as a note! I noticed that there are a lot of kid spaces, and a lot of families opted in for this hotel. If kids are not your vibe, be prepared for that. When we checked in on a Thursday, there was a pianist and a singer who played all night. Super cool. The area is also in the middle of what I would call resort town. All the major resorts are in this area! It is on the opposite side of the airport, and near a lot of the attractions.

“Lovely compound professional staff”
The Shilla had a large and lovely, very well maintained compound with good views, and which I thoroughly enjoyed strolling through. Access to the public beach through long steep stairs was possible (assuming a level of fitness and determination!). The staff I came across were courteous and professional, and most could speak at least a bit of English. The room I had overlooked a carpark, which was not great, but was otherwise clean, sufficiently spacious and comfortable. The pillows were too soft for my liking (but this is a matter of personal preference) and the only objecively unsatisfactory issue I encountered was the fact that there were no curtains to the windows and only wooden blinds. As the sun rose early (even before 6:00 am), the closed wooden blinds would still let in light, making it a bit more difficult to continue sleeping. All in, however, I had a memorable and great stay.
