I recently stayed at the newly renovated St. Giles Mid Valley, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few standout highlights and some areas for improvement. Check-In The first impression was excellent. The lobby is beautifully redesigned: modern, clean, and welcoming. Everything feels fresh and new. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with no delays. The front desk staff were friendly, accommodating, and professional, setting a great tone for the stay. Parking Parking can be a bit tricky. Since the hotel shares parking with The Gardens Mall and Mid Valley Megamall, it gets quite crowded, especially before the official check-in time (3 PM). Your best bet is to park at P1 or P2 and look for the purple pillars for easier access. Be prepared to spend some time finding a spot during peak hours. Room This was easily the highlight of the stay. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and strikes a perfect balance between classic and modern aesthetics. The bed was incredibly comfortable: I slept like a baby! Amenities were impressive: a Nespresso machine, a complimentary minibar (a nice touch!), and thoughtful in-room details. The bathroom was equally spacious, complete with a bathtub and even bath salts provided. Overall, the room felt luxurious and well thought out. Food Unfortunately, this is where the experience dipped slightly. The nasi goreng kampung lacked flavor and felt underwhelming. The beef burger used a processed-style patty, not handmade and tasted similar to a basic Ramly burger (and not in a good way). Breakfast, however, was decent. The buffet offered a standard spread: porridge, cereals, breads, and more. The highlight was definitely the view from the top floor, overlooking the city skyline including Petronas Twin Towers, which made the experience more enjoyable. Facilities The gym and swimming pool are shared with St. Giles The Gardens Hotel & Residences, and these areas have not been renovated. They feel a bit dated and “old school,” with nothing particularly impressive. That said, they are still functional and decent for a short stay. Check-Out Check-out was quick and seamless. Once again, the front desk delivered excellent service: efficient and courteous right until the end. Overall Verdict: A strong stay driven by excellent rooms and great service.
