“I was worried because there were no reviews from Japanese people.”
However, I made a reservation here because I wanted to ride GravityMax at the amusement park. It was really difficult to get to this hotel (laughs). I took the high-speed train from Taipei to Taichung Station, then switched to a private train to Houli Station where I was supposed to take a free shuttle bus, but there was no bus when we arrived, so we took a taxi instead. It cost about 100 dollars and took around 10 minutes. However, we ended up getting off at Fuluong Hotel instead of the hotel we were staying at... we didn't realize it (laughs). When we talked to the hotel staff, they said there was a shuttle bus but it wasn't running at the moment, so they kindly offered to drive us in a company car. This place does have English speakers. We arrived at the hotel around 2 PM, but since check-in was at 4 PM, we couldn't go to our room. We wanted to go to the outlet, but there was no shuttle bus available... then the hotel staff kindly offered to take us to the outlet in their company car (laughs). They even explained things while using a translation device. The very kind staff member also gave us three bottles of water, thank you (laughs). You need to reserve the shuttle bus at least 15 minutes in advance. The outlet didn't feel that budget-friendly. There are plenty of food courts and restaurants. By the way, for the return trip, we reserved the shuttle bus at the outlet. A cheerful bus with an open side showed up. There were people who spoke Japanese at the outlet’s information desk and at Satsudora (a drugstore), but in general, stores mainly used Chinese, though some basic English was understood. The last shuttle bus to the hotel is around 5 PM, which leads to a dinner dilemma. There are no restaurants at the hotel, and there aren’t any convenience stores nearby. We either needed to eat early at the outlet or resort to convenience store food. We finally got to check into the hotel. There are two buildings, T11 and T12, and our family stayed at T12. I'm not sure if it was newly renovated or a new hotel (laughs), but the interior of the hotel is very clean. The room gets restocked every day with eight 450ml bottles of water. The refrigerator contains Pepsi and some unpleasant carbonated drinks, which are also complimentary. There were school trip kids staying there, but our floor felt very quiet as there was no one else around. When I reserved the shuttle bus to the amusement park for the following morning, the kind staff member again drove us in the company car. The bus timing didn’t seem to matter (laughs). The amusement park had many rides aimed at small children aside from the roller coaster we were looking forward to. Although it was open until 5 PM, it started to feel like they wanted us to leave around 4:30 PM, and we couldn't even ride any attractions anymore, but we still had plenty of fun. Most of the park’s communication was in Chinese. Young staff members would translate on their smartphones, but some of the older ladies in the food court wouldn’t assist us. Since we had reserved the 5:20 PM shuttle bus, we grabbed dinner at a convenience store and passed the time before safely returning to the hotel. On our last day, we made the reservation for the return bus, and once again, they kindly took us to Fuluong Hotel in their company car (laughs). It was disappointing that the kind staff member was not there on the final day. The room was clean, and all the staff were young, cool, and cute, treating us with great kindness, making it a wonderful trip. However, if we have a chance to visit again, I think we will stay at Fuluong Hotel (laughs). I recommend it to those who come by car!
