Stayed at Summit Tacloban primarily because of its convenient location near Robinsons Mall, for easy access to shopping and dining. Upon arrival, the check-in process was extremely slow due to a large group of high school students checking in for an event. It took much longer than expected, which was frustrating after a long day of travel. The lobby, unfortunately, was unbearably hot, and it didn't set a great first impression. As for the parking situation, the hotel has designated parking spaces, but they're limited, and the system wasn’t very efficient. The security guard wasn’t always stationed at the entrance. On top of that, due to the event, upon returning to the hotel after a long day, the designated parking was full. The guard took my mobile number and promised to text me when a space became available, but I never received the message. After passing the time at the mall until the mall closed, we decided to try our luck and headed back despite not receiving a text message, luckily, we saw an available parking spot. However, there was no guard present again, so we had to wait for one to show up and raise the bollard while other cars queued behind us. On the positive side, room was spacious, the hotel had a water refilling station on each floor, and I appreciated that the air conditioning inside the room was cold, which made for a comfortable stay. The room itself was clean, though I did notice the towels were in poor condition. The water pressure was another issue; it was very low, making it take forever to finish showering. All in all, while the location is great, and the room was relatively clean, the parking and service could use significant improvements. I would consider returning, hopefully there wouldn't be an event on my next stay though.

We have been staying in several hotels in Tacloban and so far Summit offered the most comfort. Along with The Leyte Oriental Hotel it's also the most expensive one. The room is spacious, a big window with a view : very far away the mountains and the sea, close-by not so interesting view on the immense roofs of the Robinson's mall. Only the door of the bathroom was not handy blocking the access to the basin when open. But the room contains a large flat screen TV which was perfect to view movies. One remark about the pool which was well maintained but with too much chemical products though because the water of that pool really agressed my eyes, which made it almost impossible to swim... The only interesting retaurant nearby is the one left in front of the entrance of the mall. And about 1,5 km away there is the very nice restaurant "Punjab" for breakfast and very tasty Indian food (with also French rolls, crêpes and pastry). The French patisserie is the best I could find so far in Tacloban.
I highly recommend this hotel very accommodating and just across the mall. Staff are nice and helpful. Area clean all in all we enjoy our stay with the girls .

I had a wonderful stay at Summit Hotel. The location is very convenient, being just a short walk from the mall, which made shopping and dining out extremely easy. *Excellent customer service *Facilities - below average. My expectations were not for a 4 star hotel. Cleanliness standard was not up to par. Shower was mouldy. A bit of flooding happened in our room which came from the room above which could have been a safety issue as water dripped over light switches. Didn’t expect that to happen. No follow-up cleaning happened after this. *Windows were mouldy, it seemed like they have not been cleaned ever. *Curtains looked like they have not been washed since these were put up. Dust flew all over every time we opened and closed these.
