Seongsan hotels & places to stay

This hotel is super big and deluxe with a cheap price which I can never find another one in other cities or countries. The inner design is luxurious and the room is clean. The sea view is also good, seongsan ilchulbong and sunrise can directly be seen in our room. However, It is sad since the weather is cloudy on the night we stay. We only booked for 1 night. I regretted that I should stay more nights since here is really perfect regrading to its price.

The Haevichi is located on the south-eastern tip of Jeju-island, midway between Seongsan Ilchulbong and Seogwipo City along the coast. We stayed on the hotel annex (as opposed to the resort annex) of the property. The hotel compounds are beautifully designed and you have a lovely view of the ocean from most parts of the lobby. Our superior room was spacious, modern, tastefully furnished and very well maintained. Free Wifi is available within the room and most parts of the hotel. The bathroom is also very spacious and well designed. This is definitely one of the most luxurious and comfortable accommodations on Jeju-island. As some reviewers mentioned, the hotel is located on a relatively remote part of the island. The city of Seogwipo is a 30 mins drive away and Jeju city (and the airport) is about an hours drive away. However if you rented a car (as we did), it was no hassle at all. We wanted to see sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong and the hotel is a quick 20 min drive from the foot of the Ilchulbong. It is also a stop on the Olle Trail #4. In terms of dining options, the restaurant at the hotel lobby serves decent international fare and also offers a nice breakfast buffet spread. Outside the hotel, there is a bunch of restaurants within 5 min walk of the hotel, along the coastal roads. The small town of Pyoseon is a quick 3-5 min drive away, provides more dining options. You can also find a convenience store, a bakery (Paris Baguette) and some drinking/coffee places there. All in all, we had a wonderful stay here and will not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Jeju-do.

It is very near to Seongsan summit and we could wake up at 5am to hike to the peak of the mountain to watch the sunrise. Within a short walk around 10 mins, there are many restaurants available. Especially like the spa at the balcony of our room to relax our muscles after the hike. We had dinner downstairs the room. There are only 2 choices of burger and we had both. Food aesthetics are very beautiful as well as tasty.

The hotel facilities were new and the hotel room looks as advertised on the website. Apparently, it is the newest hotel in Seongsan and certainly, it didn't fail my expectations. Fortunately, we were upgraded to a better room due to full occupancy of the room we've booked. Oh my god, the toilet has a proper bidet system and rain shower. Definitely will go stay again if we come back in the near future.

Heard about this new hotel with a great rooftop view, and was very impressed when I got there. The staff were very friendly and professional, and gave me a room with a nice sea view. The rooms are well-equipped, very spacious and comfortable, and the hotel's got a convenience store in the downstairs lobby (plus several more nearby). The hotel's a short stroll to Seongsan Sunrise Peak and all the surrounding restaurants, and an easy walk to Kwangchigi Beach (also a great spot to watch the sunrise)! The bus stop on Seongsan Jungang-ro is less than 5 mins away from the hotel, and connects you up with most of the lines you need to get round, including the express buses to Jeju Airport!

Booked the standard plus room and got exactly what I wanted. An unobstructed view of Seongsan Ilchulbong from my room! How cool is that? The hotel is as pictured, really nice and fun industrial design and vibe. Bus stop is 3mins walk away and you can easily get to Seongsan Ilchulbong and Seopjikoji from the hotel. They provided toiletries and big towel (which I'm really grateful for after all those small towels in other hotels in S.Korea). Room is a little small but it was okay. Will be back here if I'm visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong again!

The location is very good. It’s walking distance to Seongsan Ilchibong and Gwangchiji Beach. Seopjikoji and udo are also around. This is a small and leisure area which you can easily explore by feet. There is a lot of great restaurants around the hotel. Also, hotel itself sells cheap and nice pastries. The room is super clean and comfortable. The staffs are very helpful as well. This hotel is great value for money. Also, this is a good option for backpackers; take a direct bus from airport, off at Seongsan Ilchubong stop and walk less than a minute to the hotel. ***If you do stay in this area, sunrise at Seongsan Ilchubong is definitely what you shouldn’t miss. Definitely unforgettable! Enjoy!

We booked the premier Jacuzzi deluxe, and could not get enough of enjoying our bath at the Jacuzzi. It's a short 7 min drive to Seongsan Ilchubong, which we managed to catch the sunrise. There's a delicious black pork bbq restaurant within 5 min walk. The only downside is that due to our late booking, we got the room at the second floor so there is not much sunrise view from our room. Hope to be able to get a higher floor on our next trip.

It was an enjoyable stay at Seopjikoji Sunrise Hotel. It was a stone’s throw away from the Seongsan Ilchulbong, and there were several restaurants around. We stayed a total of 2 nights, and in the first night we discovered that the air-conditioning in our room would automatically switch off after 1 hour as there was a timer. We tried to toggle with the remote control, but it was all in Korean so our attempt was futile. We checked with the staff the next day and they were very apologetic and tried their best to fix the problem, but to no avail. However, they offered to give us a new room to have a more comfortable night of sleep, and even allowed us to keep our original room so that we don’t have to move all our unpacked stuff into the new room. The little glitch in the air-con in the first night was nothing compared to their hospitality. Thank you for this enjoyable stay!

The hotel near to Seongsan Ilchulbong. It's located in the middle between Seongsan Ilchulbong and Seongsan Port where you can easily drive the to get a ferry to Udo Island (I'm on tight schedule and need to get on ferry early an the morning). Parking space is limited, you have to be at hotel around 6PM-8PM to get your parking space. If you come a little late you can't find parking in front of hotel and has to park outside hotel territory. The facilities in the hotel is intermediate but clean enough for me for this trip. There is also convenient store beside the hotel if you need anything

Unfortunately for us there was a typhoon while we were there. But on the days where the weather was ok this is a beautiful relaxing location with great cafes and food around. You just need to know where to go. It is also close to quite a few attractions and the bus station about 10 minutes away (the owner actually drove us there the first time to show us where the station was). You can go to Seongsan in 20 minutes by bus and from there you can take the boat to Udo island. Just make sure you get a bus map and know where you want to go for sight seeing. The rooms are very spacious and enjoy the view of the ocean right when you get up. Supposedly you can buy meat and BBQ at your porch facing the ocean, but did not try this due to the weather. If you are looking to get away from it all, highly reccomend this place as I walk really able to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were somewhat hard (still had a good night's sleep though). My room had blackout curtains (standard double) which was good. The location was good for visiting Seongsan, Udo, and Manjanggul area. The Goseongri bus stop (where you can take express buses to/from the airport, Jeju City, or Seogwipo) is a 5-minute walk away, while the bus stop to Seongsan Sunrise Peak was 1 minute away by foot. The only cons: (a) there is no real reception staff -- only cleaners who are not fluent in English, and (b) the towels sometimes are big, sometimes small. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy though. I'd book this place again if I'm visiting the area.

Great place if you want a nice clean modern apartment. Not luxurious but definitely nice. Negative for us was mainly the location. We had booked in another part of the island, but the previous week's typhoon damaged it so they cancelled on us. Finding another suitable place on short notice wasn't easy. Arts Spa and Pool Villa was great in that sense...a nice apartment on short notice when we didn't have many good options. But the location isn't inspiring. Overall I'd recommend it, but maybe view the surroundings first so you understand the location. Another typhoon came through while we were there. I can report that the units are very sturdy (and, happily, the electricity didn't go out).

This hotel is quiet although being used by local. But the guests are all well behavior. The staff (Cleaning and Front office) very friendly and helpful. Location: Breakfast : very good choice 1. Western (Egon Schiele- 2 bldg away-must GO!), Tsuma Sushi (cafe&Beer) 2. Lunch: There is always a local Korean serving very good & reasonable Black Pork Noodle (opposite Tsuma Cafe) But prepare to Q for 30mins. Value and worthy waiting for this noodle. 3. Nearby Local Seongsan Transit : (8 mins walk -opposite of Golden Tulip Hotel). Plenty local Korean restaurant, serving good value : Seafood Ramen , Grill fish and BBQ black pork +mixed sea.Value 4 money. Lowest, I known of this. 4. Down road Goseongojo-ro , plenty of good & value food(Local Bakery spoil with choices (next to the bus stop), Chinese Tim Sim (opp bakery shop) & 14 type fried chicken menu. Travelling to sightseeing within eastern island like Udo,Iichulbong,Lava and Seogwipo . Many public bus. just know e arrive timing.

To note: * use the Korean name when looking for the place and make sure you have the correct phone number. You won't find the English name in the GPS navi. *It's about an hour by car from Jeju International Airport. *The guesthouse is the top floor of a seafood restaurant overlooking Seongsan Ilchubong and the sea. 5 minutes walk to the entrance of Seongsan Ilchubong. 20+ minutes walk to pier for Udo Island. *The whole area is pretty much dead after 9pm. Perfect for chilling. *spacious room and private bathroom with body wash, shampoo and face towel provided. *10am-12pm is cleaning time. *breakfast of toast, eggs and kimchi pancake by host. *the best view is from the kitchen which opens out into an outdoor space. sunrise can be seen from there too. *the host, Ms Kim is amazing. Friendly, jovial and loves spending time getting to know you. *no elevator, cupboards or lockers though. and the window does not open either. using the washing machine is at KRW3000 if i'm not mistaken.

It would be a good choice for those travelers who are looking for a beautiful view over the sea and Seosang Ilchulbong Peak. The location is perfect, near to seashore, close to the peak's entrance and just across to the bus stop (#201, 722-1,722-1). If you walk along the beach till the 'Healing house' or "Cloud9" hotel you'll get just another awesome view of the Ilchulbong Peak and Udo island. The Hostel itself was clean and warm and simple, so was the breakfast ( coffee or tea and fried-rice with veggies). The managers, family owners, are very lovely, chill people, they speak just a bit English but it's enough to communicate. I loved the way how do they treat e.o and their friendly dog. After checking out I stayed much longer in the common area, they didn't say anything, didn't charge. I would recommend to stay here for a night or max two if you are planning to visit Seongsan and Udo, but then move to Seogwipo city.

Very good service, owner provide transfer to nearby location, our main purpose to Jeju is to see sunrise at Seongsan, this hotel is in idea location, the owner even sent us to Seongsan for sunrise at 5am, will highly recommend to others as the owner can communicate in English, she provide very useful information and save a lot on my travelling time. From Jeju airport, take bus (100) stop at local bus terminal, transit to bus 700 to Seongwipo , stop at Seongsan Gymnasium, opposite of the main road, you can find a small road, walk about 150m, you can find the hotel. Even though the hotel location is out from the town, the hotel provide transfer.
