Taichung City hotels & places to stay

Excellent staffs services, the hotel staffs ran towards our taxi across the small road when he saw us alighted... Room n toilet were clean, bathroom with bath tub... Very good location, walking distance to Fengjia Night Market... Bfst was yummy too... quite alot of choices... aircon was faulty on the first night following by dripping of water... informed the hotel staffs the following morning and was settled before we went back to our room in the afternoon... I would love to stay this hotel again when I go Taichung again...

Excellent service and the receptions were very attentive . The hotel has washing machines and dryers made available at the basement floor. A Convenient store is just next to the hotel and we also like the Breakfast in the hotel with a wide variety of choices. We strongly recommend this hotel in Taichung City. Both the Railway station and bus terminal are just 5-7 minutes walking distance from the hotel.

The hotel was clean and the Taichung city view was nice, however, when I was waiting for the breakfast buffet (stir fried vegetable and steam egg part), he chief was tasting his food while he was cooking using his own spatula, after taste the food he put it back and continue to stir the food!!! It's so gross! They shouldn't be doing that! The Lin hotel obviously copied the hotel in Las Vegas called Wynn....the lawsuit is probably on...

La Vida Hotel was a good choice for our quick stopover in Taichung. The hotel had opened only weeks before and the facility was absolutely dazzling - the lobby artwork, the elevators, the hallway carpeting - everything tasteful, stylish, and gleaming clean. The location proved ideal. Given our 8:30pm arrival at Taichung Airport from Hong Kong, we were concerned about finding some nearby restaurant open, and in the best case scenario, experience something of a unique Taichung character. In fact the hotel is only steps away from the Feng Chia Night Market - a festive, nightly celebration of eating, with throngs of college students strolling around eating food from small food stalls. We enjoyed grilled chicken, stinky tofu, delicious French crepes, pork dumplings all cooked right in front of us - all around US$2 per serving. La Vida was a 20-minute ($400NT) cab ride from the airport and we arrived at the hotel at 9:10pm. The next day we took a 20-minute ($300NT) cab ride from in front of hotel to the High-Speed Rail Station. The hotel service was superb. The staff was eager to assist with any request (or even just the slightest sign we might need assistance) -- making a complimentary cup of lobby coffee, walking out of the hotel and pointing the way to the Night Market, carefully explaining different breakfast options, advising us on trip to Guiziling Mud Baths — all in English of course. The room itself (room 8010) was a bit disappointing - the bed, bathroom, enormous TV, couch, amenities were all absolutely fine - but we had upgraded to a “deluxe” room and felt the windowless room grow claustrophobic the next morning with no natural light, and no sense of whether it was night or day. That said, the other top hotel options in Taichung did not sound particularly appealing based on Agoda reviews and La Vida provided a fine experience in Taichung.

One word - PERFECTO!! Staying in this hotel nothing could ever go wrong. The hotel staff, the room, the breakfast and the location, simply wonderful. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to overnight at Taichung city. The moment you step out from the hotel entrance door, that's where you'll find FengJia Night Market. Yes, this hotel is in the centre of FengJia Night Market, how wonderful and convenient is that!! I would definitely come back to this hotel if I ever visit Taichung again in future.

It was a very enjoyable stay at the Park City Hotel Central Taichung. The Hotel rooms were clean, modern, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The toilet was very clean but it would be better if it has a shower room instead of a bathtub. The walls were soundproof too. The Breakfast provided by the hotel were great with a good variety of food, a very awesome start to our day. Though the hotel is centrally located in central Taichung, it is still a 10 mins walk to Taichung Railway station. For popular places like Fengjia night market, one must take a taxi there. However, as taxi were relatively cheap in Taichung, we do not mind the distance. It should cost less than TWD250 from Park City Hotel to Fengjia night market, at around TWD210 even for night charges. The hotel bellboy would be able to book a taxi easily for you. Special mention here to a very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff by the name of Leo. Upon reaching the hotel, after helping us to deposit our lugggages, Leo came back and chat with us on where we intend to visit during our stay in Taichung. When he realized that one of the places that we intend to go to were too far and would be very expensive if we took a cab, he advised us on the economical way to travel there. Next, he asked us if we would like to have our lunch at the hotel as it was already 2pm. When we mentioned that we wanted to visit the Mode Mall near the hotel for lunch, Leo quickly helped us book 3 taxi there (we were travelling in a big group) and even recommend us to go to the food street at Basement for lunch. As my aunty was having walking difficulties, Leo suggest we rent a wheelchair from the Hotel and went to prepare the ramp for us. Throughout our stay in Park City Hotel, Leo had helped us in so many ways, always going the extra miles for the customers. It is such attentive staff like Leo that make our stay enjoyable. Thank you.

Without a car, it's really hard to get to this hotel. We tried calling the hotel to ask about frer shuttle timetable but we simply couldn't get through. The line was busy all day. We tried getting a taxi from Chenggong Train Station at 6pm, a couple of taxis refused to take us to the hotel. We finally got into one but the driver refused to set the meter and made us pay at a higher price. When we get to the hotel things are all fine. The room was big with a big private spa tub. We could see Taichung city from tha room and the bathroom. The night view was simply spectacular.

It was a pleasant surprise for us to check-in to Aeris International Hotel at Taichung with our 2 young kids. The hotel is about 15 minutes away from HSR Station. The hotel has a classy ambience. I arrived 3 hours earlier than the check-in time, but the Concierge was so kind to arrange check-in for us 2 hours before time. That was such a relief for us to rest briefly before attending a friend's wedding. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. If you want to eat out, you need to walk about 5-10 minute away. There are plenty of shops to choose. If you like dessert, you should try 樂群冷凍芋, we tried their mango dessert with milk, it was so heavenly! Breakfast comes with preset sets or buffet. We had to leave very early the next morning, the Concierge was so kind to help us to pack our breakfast ready before we check-out. Thanks for your memorable hospitality, will definitely come back when are in Taichung!

We would like thank the ever willing and helpful staff at the Twinstar Hotel in Taichung especially Mr. Ting Ju Ching, who took the extra effort to help us retrieve our handphone left behind in the train .With all the patience in the world, he spent more than 20 minutes on the phone to contact the train service from Chaiyi to Taichung. Within 45 minutes he confirmed our phone was found in Taicpei, and will be sent back to Taichung Railway Station the following morning. Our phone was sent back to the train station the next morning from Taipei to Taichung where we were staying overnight at the Twinstar Hotel. We are very grateful to Mr. Ting for, making our Taiwan trip a successful and a Happy one!!! My son left behind an expensive camera on ETS train from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. When we called back Immediately. Straight away the answer is NO. If only the People in Malaysia can learn to be as honest as people in Taiwan. Once again , Thank you very much Mr. Ting.

Nice hotel and good location. Very near to the sogo departmental store. Convenient to go around. The service of the hotel was exxcellent. Staff were very helpful. They were very informative. The room was clean and spacious. The view that we got in our room was very nice. Can see almost entire Taichung city. We tried the Lulu Spa there. It was good. Staff was very nice. Food in Taichung was very delicious. Feng jia night market is a place that we must go. Shopping in night market was good too. Overall, im happy with my stay at this hotel and certainly will stay there again when i visit Taiwan next time.

Hotel is located next to SOGO and there’s a bus stop in front of and opposite the hotel, which there’re buses which can take you to most of the places in Taichung, even other bus stops nearby are within walking distance too, very conveniently located. Hotel is very clean and huge, amenities provided are very well equipped too. There’s even a laundry room and drinking water purifier, which allow hotel guests to do their laundry and refill drinking water. They even provide a smart phone with internet connection for all the rooms, which allow guests to bring out or make international calls during the stay, it’s free of charge! We fully utilized the smart phone especially on nagivating google map when we’re out in Taichung city. Overall, it’s a hotel better than just an “inn”, am very satisfied with the stay and definitely will come back again!

i loved my stay there. In fact, after just a single night stay, I travelled around Taiwan and when back in Taichung, decided to stay for another 2 nights here. Breakfast has a large selection. Of course, you cannot compare the selection with international chain hotels but this is definitely not bad, considering that I was just having the traditional Taiwanese breakfast everywhere i go in the smaller hotels. The artistic interior decor provided a nice feeling for guests. The receptionists are all well groomed and extremely helpful. I am particularly pleased with the service of the Assistant Manager, who went out of her way and recommended nice places for me to plan my next trip. She even recognise us when we returned for the 2 nights stay after several days. The bed and the comforter was simply excellent. The shower is not sepearate from the other parts of the toilet. As such, water splashed everywhere else and this is a slight minus. Otherwise, In One City Inn, you got a great formula!

located in the center of taichung city (10 min by taxi from the hsr station), this hotel is top class for everything from the service to the room... for a very reasonable price. the rooms are spacious, modern and fully equipped, with english speaking entertainment channels and free internet. perfectly suitable for business trips as for sightseeing tours. the breakfast is also one of the kind with choices for every tastes. too bad i had only to spend 2 days in taichung...

I had to stay near the Sport University for a few days and the Cloud hotel was one of the cheapest in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, I didn't expect a room of that size in this price range. Also, everything was clean and tidy, with great air conditioning and pretty quiet nights. It's near Taichung Park, so there's a night market nearby, as well as many restaurants and bars. The staff has been very helpful during my stay. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast: it's not bad, and I actually really liked the scrumbled eggs and a few other dishes, but there isn't a lot of things to choose from. A few more cooked dishes and fruit would make it a lot better. All in all, I'd highly recommend The Cloud hotel, I've had a very pleasant stay at an affordable price.

the hotel is located in the taichung city so it is convenient for ppl going out... there is convenient store opened 24 hours next door... lobby is bright and clean, service is excellent, you dont need to worry anything, they will fix if have any problem... the room is simple but big enough to stay and there is a balcony in the toilet even though cannot be opened but view is good and makes you feel fresh... the choice of breakfast is not much but food is delicious and fresh, already good enough... definitely will choose it again if going again in the future

It was brilliant! The best hotel and value by far in all the hotels I have stayed in any part of the world. I can highly recemmond it to couples on honeymoon or the tired business man. The extras provided I.e panel button controlled edit all the electrics. Ceiling doe jets, complementary minibar with snacks. A huge bed with luxury bedding and soft pillows. Very spacious room with ensuite bathroom. A huge double sized square bath with jaccuzie. With a large 2nd flat screen TV . Separate shower and electronic toilet seat. Great value and the hotel is totally underrated as a 3 star. In my opinion it should be 5 Star. From Dubai

Location is good as it is quite centralised and it is really clean. The brekfast was quite great too. I actually left one of my stuffs in the room after checked out and only realised it when i was on the HSR to Taipei. I called them and they immediately offered to mail it back to my Taipei's hotel. I received it right the next day! The staffs' service is definitely worth to praise it for. I will definitely stay here again if were to visit Taichung again. Once again, thank you so much Mini Hotels!

Each stay, I’d request a different room to my favor. That is because for each floor of this boutique hotel, a well reputable interior designer was commissioned to partake on the design. Each room has it own unique design. For this stay, I arrived late and the friendly staff upgraded me into one of the room to my favor! Thrilled! (To the staff: Thanks guys!) So, I’d definitely recommend Boda to anyone who’s traveling to Taichung. Expect seeing me there again!

Locates at the cente of Taichung city, it is convenient to reach major spots in Taichung city. Room is spacious and clean, and the in-room TV has a big screen! Wifi is free and this is good for business traveler. Very closed to 精明 district with plenty of cafe / salon, it is a relaxing area. And the hotel is quite famous in town and most taxi drivers can reach the place easily. Lot of choices at hotel breakfast.

Good accomodation & location near taichung station, very courteous and friendly staffs, breakfast are delicious! We have cancelled our booking 1 day prior to our 2nd day of accomodation because my mom got sick, so Agoda charged 50 % cancellation fee, then we have decided to reinstate it again because my mom got better, and they really helped us very well. Agoda and the hotel staffs allowed us to reinstate our 2nd booking and only refunded the cancellation fee again to them without no additional charges. Will recommend this place and good job for the staffs of the hotel and Agoda for helping us and making our stay in taichung, taiwan hassle-free. :)

It’s just 5mins walk from Taichung train station, very convinient! Apart, buses traveling within Taichung city is accessible just downstairs, and buses traveling to other cities just 3 mins walk. The surrounding features with convinient store, food stalls, the famous dessert shop Mihayara Ice Cream (just 5-7mins walk from hotel) and etc. Hotel breakfast features good selection on both Asian and western selections. The seating was comfortable. It’s a hotel you may consider for stop over.

My family were pleasantly surprised with the hotel I've booked. The room is a good size for 4 of us. Nice deco and staffs are very friendly & helpful. My daughter forgot her stuff toy after we checked out. We only found out the night after we left Taichung. Called up the hotel & they managed to arrange for the toy tone sent to our hotel in Taipei. Thanks! Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for value-for-money hotel. Exceeded our expectation!

The room was so clean, nice and big. The toilet could fit a single bed inside - that was how big the empty space in the toilet is. This is weird but I loved the toilet. Breakfast was alright - same food everyday but we enjoyed it still. Their service was really good - the doorman (doorwoman? doorlady?) were awesome. The first one was a lady and she was so helpful, bringing us up first then bringing the luggages up herself. Location was good, just beside Fengyuan TRA, but Fengyuan itself is kinda at the sides of Taichung already so it takes more time to travel to the attractions in Taichung.

This hotel is located just a mere few minutes walk from the Fengchia Nite Market. We just loved this hotel. The premise is clean, housekeeping is tip top, reliable wifi, comfortable rooms and the unique thing about this hotel is their "Living Room". Here's where you could get your coffee fix or tea, use fully equipped pantry/kitchen like facilities with sofa seating, projector TV, board games, books & magazine to waste your time ( if you'e not hitting the streets of Fengchia or have time to kill, like waiting for transport). The lobby staff are super friendly and gives good recommendations of local eateries to try out. There's also a free laundry room located at Level 6. If you ever want to visit Taichung, you should check out this hotel.

If location was your main concern, look no further. PLAZA HOTEL TAICHUNG is the place to stay at. Located next to the railway station and with easy access to public buses, you can save loads on transport. During my 3 days/2 nights @ Taichung City, I did not have to take any taxi, but relied on public transport to Yizhong shopping district & Fengjia night market. There is a direct bus #135 to Sun Moon Lake, the bus station is located within walking distance from the hotel. Don't be misled by the hotel exterior. With the modern room decor and reasonable spread of buffet breakfast, this is one hotel where you get your dollars stretched to its maximum limit.

Pros: -Room was very spacious and clean. Sofas and mattress were super comfortable. -excellent location. Lots of places to see within walking distance. Several convenience stores are nearby. Cons: -it's a weird design that the only sink is placed in the living room, not beside the toilet. So if you wish to wash your hands after doing your business you need to walk over the the living room or wash your hands in the shower. Oh and there's no hook/rack to hang up drying towels near the sink. -Parking is at a nearby commercial building's basement and hotel guests are only allowed to park at floor B4- B6 which is annoying given there were a lot of empty spots on the upper floors. Parking fee is TWD 200/ day but only until 12 noon the next day which is the same as check out time. -Skip the breakfast, unless you're only looking to grab something to eat quickly.
