Perak State hotels & places to stay

This is our 3rd time stay in their Studio room since last December 2014. Previously was booked through directly from Hotel, but this time round the hotel rate slightly higher than Agoda (the staff told maybe because of GST). My family members are very satisfy with Weil hotel. We stayed with them when they are rated 3 star till 4 star currently. I think they should rate as 5 star hotel soon cos some of their facilities are still under construction! From the very first step of the hotel: Bellman, valet parking, check in, room, restaurant food (breakfast or dinner) till the last step of check out, I give 10/10!!! The performance of every staffs are doing the best to every guests, I think they should well trained before their serving! We are going Ipoh every month, for sure we will come back this hotel and never change!!! Besides, I also very expected to use their upcoming facilities!!! (THUMBS UP)

Their staff are truly the stars of the resort. We have stayed at many places in Malaysia for our travels and this is by far the best for us. Love the sincere warmth of the folks at the Banjaran who often go the extra mile (within reasonable means of course) to make our stay very welcoming and comfortable even when we never expect it. We also love the greenery and nature that surrounds the resort. Its exclusivity; security in and out of the resort is very tight, limited number of villas and no children below age 12 to ensure an ideal environment for guests to rest and relax. These are what keeps us coming back to the resort. This has been our 2nd visit now and we foresee a few more in the future.

I've read some of the bad reviews before booking therefore when I arrived at the hotel it was with a feeling of trepidation. I was afraid that the apartment would be full of stale air, no room keys,not enough food at breakfast etc. However everything was good, the apartment was spacious, clean, just like a 5 stars hotel room should be. It seems that the hotel takes their guest review seriously to improve its services. The front desk even to porter was helpful. There are not cooking utensils but since we are not cooking anything then its fine. The only problem we encounter was with the hot shower, we can't control the temperature in two of the showers. All they told us was to let the water ran for a while to stabilize it. A lot of wasting water for that method.

The renovated pool and the seaview room is the key point!! love it so much! pool suitable for for all ages esp. kids and babies. parents also easy to monitor with ample seating with umbrella. parents ablek to enjoy the infinity pool since not too deep. seriously much much better than hard rock penang pool. here the pool very clean and no sand..love it. The seaview are majestic. The staff are all very friendly and helpful esp. Carine Yap to provide us nice seaview room, bring me the room card and accompany me after check out since I left my personal belongings, Zul the bell boy helped me at the elevator and the plumber..forgot his name...His service was very fast...for breakfast..Nasi lemak with crunchy ikan bilis and roti bakar arang is the highlight...tasty and enjoy it very much!!. will repeat again....I have posted many beautiful photos at fb (Hani Azrina)....my friend also interested to go to this hotel....received many comments and queries....hope improve more on room decor....maybe next year got new budget....can invest on room....suggest to provide flying fox, tree house, and car rental service..All the best!! Truly hidden gems of Perak!!!

Our 4 nights stay at the hotel were really worth it. Everyday staffs never miss to ask us whether we want the room to be cleaned. All staffs including guards were with smile, polite and friendly. Although the hotel did not serve breakfast, no need to worry as there are malay restaurants nearby to choose from. There is also self service laundry and clinic at the area. However, the hotel could improve on room and bathroom cleanliness. Other than that, all are satisfied for the reasonable price we pay. One piece of advice is to book through agoda as the price would be way cheaper compared to when you walk in to the hotel. Well done Golden Roof Hotel!

Overall, we had a comfortable one-night stay. The bathroom and sleeping areas were more spacious than the normal room at that price. The porter went out of his way to help with our luggage. The hotel was surprisingly very close to the Perak Islamic Religious office where we were heading & not difficult to find, for people who are not at all familiar with Ipoh city traffic jams in that area.

Room are clean and very comfortable. Only problem are the toilet drain stuck and its smells awful..hope they fixed it asap. The other things that amazed me are the breakfast buffet ! There are many choice of breakfast that you can eat, nasi lemak, nasi kuning, ayam rendang, English breakfast, pancake, curry mee, chicken rice and much more... i was like.... WOW... how could you have such delicious breakfast and comfortable spacious room with only rm148 ? Believe me guys, this hotel is underated, it deserve more than 3 star. Best hotel i've stayed in ipoh.

Although it just a short trip to Lumut, Perak. We have great experience with the hotel. Yup, they have a friendly staf who always smile and pamper our needs. I never thought the room would be spacious (the should hire a good photographer to show what their offer is better than a picture in their website). This hotel also offer a 24hrs food services which I think very convenient. Overall I'm very satisfied with the accommodation, staffs and cleanliness.

I have booked a Classic double room and once confirmed, I will email it to lwhreservation@sunway.com.my (excluding public holidays and schools closed on Tuesdays), shuttle service from Ipoh Train Station to Lost World Hotel . They provide shuttle service but need to pay after check-out at the counter. Easy shuttle service from Ipoh Raiway Station to the Lost World hotel is only RM 8 including luggage a adult only 30 minutes to arrive. During the stay, they gave us coupons for 2 adults (4 days, 3 days), including free access to the hot springs (6 pm to 23 pm), free breakfast, 15% discount on crystal and spa, 10% Night Park admission tickets, 10% discount Lost World of Tambun admission tickets, My room is clean, comfortable and relaxing. I am here to relax, the most important thing is to treatment my body in the hot spring pool, I just came back from China, their weather is winter, so cool, I was injured. First things first, this is at best a three star resort overall. However due to the location and price, it easily made it the right choice for us. The resort is probably the newest on the island (but judging by the work going on all around, won't be for long) and this shows in the rooms, dining and particularly the pool area. The latter is excellent. Open 10-10 daily, it offers a good alternative to the beach. Of these, there are two on the doorstep of the resort. By far the best is coral bay, which is a two minute stroll, no more. Food is good at the resort - both breakfast and lunch gave western and local options at a decent price. They do not serve dinner however. But there are plenty of other places nearby to eat, and a well stocked mini-mart is two doors away - ideal for snacks, water, beer etc. There is free wifi in the lobby area which is a bonus and the staff were all very helpful. I was slightly dismayed by the negative reviews on TA about the resort. My first line is key - this is a three star resort, so you will not get the trappings of a five star resort, but you are not paying for it! Overall, given the value for money, location and amenities I would recommend this place above all else on the island and would return here again. This is from somebody who took weeks to make the decision on which hotel we stayed in on Pulau Pangkor! So I hope this helps you decide.

We had our last minute trip to Simpang Pulai, and the nearest decent hotel is here. Around 5km from Sg. Pulai Exit. I booked within 1/2 hour bfore arrival. We had a minor prob during checking in as the front desk stated that the booking made thru agoda are not entitled with bfast, but during booking I was very sure it is included. So that takes like 20 mins for them to confirm with the management. But all of that is forgotten as we stepped in the room. The room was spacious, with two toilets and a bathroom, kitchenette, saperate living room with 2 lcd tvs... Most of the electronics inside is also very modern. So I was very happy with d stay and most probably will come here

Stayed only for one night but very staisfied. Booked 2 rooms with interconnecting door. Mainly due to room size which size is quite generous, each bathroom got bathtub and best location to explore Ipoh city. Also we got complimentary parking at lower floors. Tried the swimming pool and quite like it, not too big or too deep. Bfast is also not bad and hotel staffs were very helpful. Recommended to all.

Check in time stated 3pm instead of 2pm as per internet. Anyway, we managed to check in around 2.15pm. We booked a 3 bed-room villa, thought is a 2 or 3 storey villa but turned out to be a huge house with a jazucci pool in the centre. Surprisingly nice!! The staff did come and change the pool water upon request, almost twice a day. Kitchen come with plates, cups, spoons, folks, kitchen knife and dish washer. Extra rubbish bags is given upon request. We requested and paid for 2 extra bed charged at RM20 per bed, so reasonable with extra pillows, blankets, bed sheet and even towels given. It will be better if extra floor mat is placed outside every room entrance bcos understood u are wet coming up from Jacuzzi pool. Villa residents has free access to water theme park, fun. But it would be nice if it closed at 6.30pm or 7pm instead of 6pm. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and what a great experience. Well done and thumbs up for all the employees. Strongly recommended.

I was not expecting much from this hotel for the price paid. However I was pleasantly surprised the moment I stepped into the hotel. I experienced good customer service at the front desk (kudos!) and the room was new with modern design. It was a comfortable stay. Although the complimentary breakfast spread could be further improved, it was decent if you consider the reasonable price. So no complaints. My only disappointment was that they charge RM10 per entry for usage of the gym. Hopefully they will make it complimentary since they are a 4 star hotel.

Everything was good considering the budget, the Deluxe room was quite big and comfy. All basic necessities are provided. Would be nice if the tv channels could include more Astro channels (there is only Astro Awana which caters to Malay audiences only). The breakfast buffet has quite a variety and among the best I've had (again, considering the budget. RM300+/night hotels might have better variety of course) and during my stay, my family and I had a monopoly of the pool as its empty (I went during weekdays); it was great! The only 'bad' thing was the check-in staff. The lady was very unfriendly and it sours the great experience being there. I've went to Coral Bay Resort for three times, and this is the first time the service is as such, which means that it is that particular lady that acts that negative. Previous two visits, I was assisted by two different ladies who have been very helpful and friendly. Coral Bay should monitor this as it is quite a smear to the otherwise great experience here.

Several basic info regarding services provide in the resort are not available in room such kitchen or room service number. The receptionist said there are no vacant room left even though when i checked online, there are stil vacant room and she did not allowed me to pick up room which has the lake view even those rooms are vacant. There are also no restaurant or convnient shop open up until late night for us. No night activities there. Also no sajadah provided for muslim. However room interior and activities such skycycle, jetskiing, cable car, water theme park, atv, jungle exploration, animal safari, and trip to orang utan island are above par. They also got a good spa and massage centre here which can be consider cheap. Dining n breakfirst at the sayong restaurant was exciting! Best location romantic for couple at this northern region.

This may be a smallish 3-star hotel (without a swimming pool, gym & other facilities normally associated with higher end hotels & resorts), but it is definitely new (established in 2011) and clean. My family and I made a recent trip to Ipoh and had a good 2 night-stay at MH. Pleasantly surprised. We got the Family Room for RM350 per nite (RM390 for weekends and peak). May not be the best in terms of value, but it was spacious enough with 1 Queen and 1 Single Beds. We added an extra bed to cater for a total of 5 people (3 adults and 2 kids). Service was good - efficient and friendly staff. Located next to McDs and many other eateries, 2-3 minutes drive to AEON (Jusco) mall and just next to the entrance into Ipoh from the PLUS Highway. So, for me, I consider this to be location friendly. I have not stayed in other hotels in Ipoh, but I would certainly consider MH on my next visit to Ipoh.

I feel good staying at this hotel because... 1) room is new, modern and clean. 2) basic toilotries provided such as toothbrush,toothpaste,shower cap,sanitary bag, shampoo and shower gel 3) staff was very friendly and helpful. i need panadol, plaster and sewing kit. wanted to puchase from the convenice store beside but it close due to system down. so i ask the fronk desk staff to assist me. hotel got sell the sewing kit but no selling panadol and plaster. the staff give me his panadol and plaster. solve my problem. 4) toilet and shower are seprated. when shower, the whole toilet wont get wet. know taiping is a more town, do not have 5 star hotel and service. at least the hotel make me feel comfortable staying here.

Actually this hotel was recommended by my friends whose always staycation here. We booked a Superior Twin Room which is suitable for 2 Adults & 2 Kids. Hotel room is equipped with basic facilities- Internet, Dryer, Muslim Prayer Mat, Ironing Board, Iron, Small Fridge, TV (limited channels) ...... The hotel has a mini library & a convenience store at the lobby. The hotel is surrounded with many Restaurants (Local & Fast Foods). Also nearby to Mydin Hypermarket. Masjid also nearby at Halaman Impian Meru Raya. Breakfast buffet has variety to choose. But no pastry available (need to pay). Nice breakfast environment with many seats available. Roti Canai & Roti Jala is the best. Must try! The hotel also serves Air Labu Sayong. Excellent hospitality by reception desk. Thanks to En Nizam!! Will stay again here! 👍

We had the most amazing time staying at M-boutique. The hotel was elegantly designed and the Christmas decor definitely put is in the mood for the yuletide season. Here's a summary of our stay: My husband and I arrived in the evening and were greeted by friendly staff (staff rating: 10/10). Opening the door to our room, our first impression was - amazing! (room cleanliness and decor: 9/10). We did however encounter a slight hiccup with our room as we came as a couple but we ended up getting two single beds, and we could not upgrade the room for both nights as the rooms were said to be fully booked (but it's okay, we managed for this trip and will be more alert to state our request on the next booking). The next morning, we opted for the western breakfast and were a tad disappointed with the choices, but lucky for us, food is on every corner in Ipoh (rating: 6/10). All in all it was a memorable experience and we will DEFINITELY be coming back next year :)

When my friends and I first arrived at Seemsoon Hotel, we were able to spot it from a distance due to its prominent signboard. A hotel suited for the needs of travellers who are willing to pay just a little more than a budget hotel, travellers can expect to pay roughly about 35 USD per pax per night. Cleanliness is not a major issue during our stay in the hotel, but travellers are expected to bring along their toiletries or purchase them from a 7-11 about 400m along the street as they are not provided. Another factor which would further encourage me to stay in Seemsoon Hotel if I were to be visiting the area again is its friendly staff who were able to advise us about the places of interests in the province which are the 'must-gos'. Breakfast coupons are provided by the hotel and Asian fare of fried rice and noodles are served. Toasted bread with different spreads are also provided for the hotel guests to indulge in. On top of that, there are also a lot of eateries around the corner for travellers to dine in the afternoons or evenings.

we booked a chalet for 3 nights and 2 days via agoda. the place was easy to find and registration very straightforward. the staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating. every little request was attended to promptly and with a smile. the owner raja was always on site and ever willing to assist with any query/difficulty. the place exuded hospitality and warmth, something that one would struggle to find in today's impersonal world. the room itself was very clean and right in front of the beach. fresh towels, toiletries, bottled water, emptied bins and clean sheets every morning without fail. breakfast was provided and of good standard. all other meals at the local restaurant were very tasty and the best part was that they took requests on dishes which was fantastic. the pool was clean, sunloungers well maintained and surrounding landscape beautifully tended to. very impressed with this establishment and would not hesitate to recommend it to other travellers. superb really!

We truly love our hotels room but the first time we step in the room it smells. We had to spray the room with car perfume because there was no convenient store near the area. We were worried that we cannot go to Orang Utan's Island as the lake water was shallow. Hopefully there would be rain soon to fill up the lake or the management will need to do something about it. The orang utan island is too small. We can see that there is a lot of "Work in progress" area in the island but things need to be improved further. Eco park is great but it needs more attraction. Water park is the best. However, we were not allowed to bring food in the park. The food at the stalls outside is not that good, might want to improve it. No attraction at night which is a bit boring.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the lobby was beautifully decorated for the Chinese new year. We also noticed a board stating that the hotel was officially opened on the 1st of Jan 2012, which meant that the hotel was only a few months old. The environment was bright and welcoming, however the staff was a slight disappointment. They were barely proficient in English, which is no longer a norm in Malaysia. Good thing, the property owner, who speaks English as a first language, is always near to help. The housekeeping staff (which we do not interact with), did a great job with keeping the hotel clean and in tip-top condition. The room we got was excellent. The deco and bed quality could easily beat those that I've seen in a 4 or 5 star hotel elsewhere. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The bathroom had no tub but the lovely rain shower more than made up for it. There was a lovely desk for the business traveller to get some work done. And best of all, free wireless internet! The only problem we had with the hotel was car parking. Being a converted shop house, there was no room for an indoor car-park. The car park is located about 30-40 metres down the road. Not a terribly long distance but the pavement (built and maintained by the city) was not exactly in a good condition. And there was no sheltered link between the carpark and hotel, which can get problematic in the tropical climate (think hot sun and storms). However, the nice thing about this was that that the hotel owner has installed some serious flood lighting and has hired a night guard to watch over the cars parked (Car theft is quite rampant in Malaysia). In terms of location, it is a short walk to all the famous eateries and banks. Overall, the hotel is lovely. Great place to get back to wind down and rest. At around RM100, it's way beyond what I'll call value for money.

i came here together with my colleagues. not many people have heard about this place, even i as a local didn't know about this place beforehand. i booked the hotel after reading reviews and looking at the pictures, it turned out to be one of the best decisions i have made for this trip. the hotel rooms are spacious and clean, that is the most important thing for me. in addition, the staff were pleasant. we went for the temenggor walk and our guide, abang in was very nice and we enjoyed having him as our guide for the day. the places that he took us were very interesting, like the salt lick for elephants and the natives' village. we didn't hike to the waterfall due to the rainy weather. instead, we spent our time drinking hot tea at the place we had lunch on a cold rainy day. i would definitely recommend this place to others. on the other hand, the nightlife and food is limited. the only thing we did at night was play board games. as for food, it was okay. the bar at the hotel was kinda sad.
