" I chose this hotel largely because of cost. We took a 9-10 day vacation and this was the cheapest one we could find for that many days. The website says that it's close to the gaslamp district, seaworld, and other major attractions, but it's actually pretty far from San Diego core. We spent a good chunk of time driving back and forth to these places and beaches. Sometimes it would take up to an hour to drive downtown. We ended up going to places that were closer to the hotel like Carlsbad and La Jolla but it was kind of disappointing to not be able to get down to San Diego as much as we had wanted. There are a few restaurants close to the hotel and stores like Target in the driving vicinity but there are no major attractions. The hotel itself is pretty standard, no frills, and you get what you pay for type of deal. The breakfast was usually bagels, yogurt, some type of egg concoction, and bacon/sausage. Not great, but it's included so, can't complain. Overall, the hotel was average and I would stay here if I was visiting someone in Ranch Bernardo. However, I probably wouldn't stay here if I was visiting SD because we ended up paying for a lot of gas which defeated the purpose in staying at a cheaper hotel."
