"My partner and I had an absolutely lovely stay at Fontana. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and most accommodating. They are always there to help and do so with a smile. No miserable staff waiting for the day to be over in here! The hotel has been designed by a Japanese architect and an Indonesian environmentalist and is absolutely amazing! The rooms are modern, quiet, the furniture looks like quality stuff (not depressing hotel furniture that you see in many other hotels) and the bathroom is wonderful! We loved the attention to detail in the design and the fact that the minibar was completely free of charge! If you are fed up with the beaches in Kuta or Legian (or the constant 'Hello Misterrr'), the hotel pool is a great alternative: clean and big comfortable chairs where you can relax. Wifi connection is good which is not often the case in Indonesia! The hotel also provided a mini chocolate cake for my partner's birthday which was a really nice gesture. The breakfast is superb: the pastries are delicious and the fresh crepes are yummie! The only negative about this hotel is the fact that it is not located in the centre of Kuta or Legian. The hotel offers a shuttle service to town and back but only every 4 hours. You will need to take a taxi but that didn't bother us at all (very cheap: around 10.000 and 20.000 rupiah). We were more than happy to do so as the hotel was absolutely worth this small inconvenience. If anything, it's a nice change to go back to a quite hotel after a day in hectic Kuta/Legian! We would definitely come back to this hotel and would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anybody who appreciates top customer service, modern rooms and great food!"

"We had a great time with our last visit. It was our wedding anniversary and birthday for my hubby. Booked a deluxe room but we get upgrade to one of the villa. We are so lucky! It was a second time to spend our wedding anniversary at Legian. First, we didn't do anything only had a simple dinner but the second recent time I surprised my husband. I made a reservation (May 31) dinner at the beach . My husband was amazed with the set up and a bit embarrassed with people surround us, flowers, candles around our tables with Cultural Balinese dance. Our sever named "Yogi" was great. Legian staff did a great job and made our 7th wedding anniversary wonderful experience. On the next day was my husbands birthday, he warn me no "Happy Birthday" song at breakfast... I keep my promise and told the staff instead they delivered his cake to our (villa) room. Thank you very much Legian staff for the great stay we had. Appreciate it! Stayed at Legian every time we visit in Bali. We definitely keep coming back. One time I made a reservation for our employee's honeymoon for years ago if I recall. Legian is a great place, easy access to everything. Wish you all the best! Cheers"

"We booked a room before at Champlung Mas Hotel, and our first time in the hotel, we were very impressed and satisfied with Champlung Mas. The location of the hotel is very close (walk distance) from Legian Street, Beachwalk and everywhere there are places where you can find and eat western food (expensive) and local food (cheap). They provided us with the lower ground room, it was very big and the bathroom as well. Provided with a very strong aircon, a bathtub and we had a small terrace in front of our room. The staff are customer friendly and very nice. I do not have any complaints about this hotel, I would definitely book my stay at Champlung Mas Hotel, if I stay at Kuta again. "

Unforgettable Experiences Await in Legian

Legian is packed with unforgettable experiences that cater to a variety of interests. For beach enthusiasts, the pristine shores of Legian Beach and the nearby La Lucciola Beach offer the perfect backdrop for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports. These beaches are not only picturesque but also provide a range of activities such as snorkeling, parasailing, and beach volleyball. The vibrant beach clubs along the coastline serve delicious food and refreshing drinks, making it easy to spend an entire day soaking up the sun.

If shopping is on the agenda, the bustling markets and shops lining Jalan Legian are a must-visit. Here, travelers can find everything from trendy clothing and accessories to unique souvenirs and local crafts. Notable spots like Ketut Art Shop 14 and Bali Brasco Shopping Centre showcase the artistry of local artisans and provide an excellent opportunity to pick up one-of-a-kind items to take home. The lively atmosphere of the markets, combined with the friendly vendors, creates an enjoyable shopping experience.

For those seeking adventure, Legian offers a plethora of activities to explore. Surfing lessons are widely available for beginners, while experienced surfers can catch some of the best waves in Bali. Additionally, cultural attractions such as the DMZ Bali 3D Art Museum provide a fun and interactive experience for visitors of all ages. When to Embrace the Magic of Legian

Choosing the right time to visit Legian can significantly enhance the travel experience. The best months to enjoy the sunny weather and pleasant temperatures are typically from April to October, which is the dry season. During this period, visitors can expect minimal rainfall and plenty of sunshine, ideal for beach activities and outdoor adventures. The warm climate makes it perfect for sunbathing, and the clear skies are perfect for exploring the area’s attractions.

However, it's essential to consider local events and festivals that occur throughout the year. For example, the Balinese Day of Silence, known as Nyepi, is a unique experience that usually takes place in March. On this day, the island shuts down, and visitors are encouraged to participate in the peaceful atmosphere. While it may not be the best time for beach activities, witnessing this cultural event can provide a deeper understanding of Balinese traditions.

Peak tourist seasons, particularly during July and August, can lead to crowded beaches and higher accommodation prices. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting during the shoulder months of April, May, or September when the weather is still favorable, but the crowds are thinner. This timing allows for a more relaxed atmosphere while still enjoying the beauty and vibrancy of Legian.

Lightweight clothing is recommended due to the warm climate, and don’t forget a swimsuit for those beach days! Additionally, having a basic understanding of the local language can be beneficial.
