“The first stay and service experience at Koh Kood Resort.”
My wife and I had the opportunity to stay and use the services at Koh Kood Resort for the first time. Overall, the resort looks new and clean, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It's perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views on Koh Kood, and the prices are not too high. The food provided by the resort is quite good as well and reasonably priced. In terms of the beach location, I personally think it may not compare to the area near Klong Jao, but it is beautiful in its own way, depending on personal taste. Overall, it was worth the price we paid. As for things to be cautious about and improvements: First: The work and communication of the staff. On the date of our arrival and check-in, around 11 AM, the staff brought down three bags from the car and assured us not to worry. After check-in is complete, they would take our bags to the room. While waiting for the room to be ready, we could relax and use the resort’s services. By 1:30 PM, my wife noticed that no one had come to inform us if the room was ready yet, so she went to the reception again. The staff then said the room was ready and would send someone to guide us to the room with our bags. However, it turned out that all three carry-on bags were missing, and no one knew where they had gone. Luckily, I had a photo on my phone of the three bags, so I showed it to the staff to describe what the bags looked like. The staff coordinated and ultimately found out that the three bags had been taken by the car that was returning customers to the pier. Thankfully, they were not taken onto the boat. The staff said they would bring them back when the car returned from the pier around 4 PM, but my wife informed them that we were staying only one night and would be leaving the next day. We had many activities planned, including swimming and Thai massages, and many essential items were in those bags. We requested that they be returned sooner than the time originally stated. The resort then informed us that, in this case, they would need to hire a car to retrieve the bags, which would incur a charge. My wife replied that we would like the resort to take responsibility for this. Thank you very much. The resort said they would take care of it, but in the end, we did get the bags at 4 PM anyway. I feel that the resort does not place much importance on the valuable time of customers and should have better methods to sort guests' luggage instead of just piling it all together with luggage from other guests, making it impossible to distinguish between which is check-in and which is check-out. Second: The breakfast provided by the resort is a buffet. While there is not much variety, it is full of quality. Most of the food is Thai, along with desserts and tropical fruits, which we both enjoyed very much. However, the resort should pay closer attention to cleanliness. Something that should not happen but did occur was that my wife went to serve herself some chicken coconut soup and found a cockroach in it when she brought it to the table. Luckily, she hadn’t eaten it yet, so she quickly reported it to the staff. She didn’t blame anyone as she hadn’t eaten anything yet and wasn't sure if any previous customers had already eaten from that soup. I feel sympathy for those customers. The staff hurriedly took the entire tray back to the kitchen and apologized to my wife. I hope the staff disposed of everything because I didn’t see what they did with the tray. We didn’t demand anything as we hadn’t eaten, but I just feel this shouldn’t happen again in 2025. Cleanliness standards should be a fundamental aspect of service and the hotel and resort business, and I sincerely hope the resort will improve on this. There are some other areas for improvement, but personally, I view them as minor, so I don’t want to bring them up. Overall, Koh Kood Resort provides quite good service, and the accommodation atmosphere is beautiful and perfect for relaxation. In my personal opinion, the location may not be as beautiful as Klong Jao beach, but when comparing quality in terms of service, room, location, and price, it is very good. I hope the resort will work on the mistakes to make improvements.
