“Excellent”
Pros: 1. Just in front of Kaohsiung Main Station but is still a 400m walk from the MRT Red Line platform. Elevators are available for those with luggages and mobility issues. 2. Direct MRT line from the airport (NTD 35 one way) so there's no fear of being late for a flight. However, the MRT to the airport at 4:45 pm on a Friday was quite crowded. 3. Very quiet despite being along the road. The blackout curtain also did its job well. 4. Daily housekeeping may be requested. Very clean. 5. Plenty of outlets in the room. 6. There are complimentary bottled water but there is also a water dispenser in front of the elevators. 3-in-1 coffee and tea are provided. 7. Well-lighted room and very clean. 8. The lounge is our favorite. It was spacious with unlimited ice cream and snacks 24/7. Coffee, milk tea, and cold drinks are also provided. Each room gets a free drink voucher (beer, juice) every day which can be redeemed from 4pm. Just ask the front desk. 9. There is a laundry area which is free to use. 10. Buffet breakfast was good and filling. They change some of the mains daily. 11. Bus stops are only a few meters away. We used them to go around. Just a fixed NTD12 fare to any destination. 12. The hotel allows luggage storage after checkout while waiting for the flight. Cons: 1. Nothing to do around the area. We had to walk almost a kilometer to Sanmin Market and to Luihe Night Market. Better to stay near Formosa Station. 2. If you're not traveling via THSR, there isn't much value staying near the main station. Formosa Station is nearer Central Park and Sanduo Shopping District. It also has a transfer to the Orange Line. It's about 250m away from Luihe Night Market. 3. The front desk staff are efficient but not friendly. Very transactional. 4. The air-conditioning unit in our room blows air directly to the foot of the bed (one area only). So while I was so cold, my husband and son were quite hot. 5. The sheets were not smooth. I didn't like the texture but my son preffered it. Other matters: No toothbrush/toothpaste so bring your own. They provide slippers (not disposable). They have tissue, hand/face wash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, coffee/tea making facility. hair dryer.
