Hotels near San Diego Convention Center

I had booked the Corner King room for the view. Definitely was not disappointed. Stayed there for one night only as San Diego was a spontaneous trip decided the day before and booked the room the day of. The hotel reminds me of a Vegas hotel. Very grand. It's off the ocean/bay so it's not close to the gaslamp district; that's where Lyft comes in handy. Do not take the carriage bag to th e hotel, it was a good $30. Def take Lyft back. Now for the negative. They didn't mention at check-in but using their valet was an additional $49!!! I choose that hotel because I thought it was all included. Wrong, so definitely NOT a Vegas like hotel in that aspect. Also, neither Agoda or the hotel mentioned that there's a resort fee (hyatt refers to it as a "destination fee"). Love the view but after the hidden fees I think I'll choose a different hotel next time I'm in San Diego. There's lots of other hotels that charge much less for valet ( self parking is $35!!!)

We only stayed one night in San Diego but we had a great time because of the good choice for hotel. It is beautifully located and is close to convention center, rail transit, 2-min drive to Coronado island, 5 min walk to gas lamp area. We walked to gas lamp and found lots of nice restaurants, bars and shops spread in several blocks in gas lamp area. Guess it will be much more exciting at night. Pity we have to leave the next day. I had a little trouble opening my room door but bellman Paul was kind enouth to keep me company and offered a lot of help for our sight seeing the next day. He even gave two complimentary coupons for drink and food in Starbucks in the hotel building. Thank you Paul.

The staff make you feel like family. They go above and beyond to make your stay in San Diego the best possible. When you call the front desk they respond by answering with; Hello this is xxx, I can help you with anything. And they do! Late night extra water? Done. Extra towels? Done. Refill of what you were missing at breakfast time? Done. Big shout out to Keith and Marianela who really did everything they could for me and my colleagues! You should go visit them, I hope to really soon. The hotel itself is also lovely with beautifully decorated doors and pineapple details everywhere. It is walking distance to any Gaslamp destination and the convention centre. They have a shuttle service to take you around downtown if you don’t want to walk though. This team has thought of everything! The accommodations are amazing, but it’s really the people who made all the difference! We switched hotels during our stay, we were there on business and were sad to leave. I would 100% recommend!

Was able to catch a great deal on this hotel near the heart of downtown San Diego/Gas lamp quarter compared to nearby hotels outside the area. Proximity to Amtrak station, stores, restaurants was excellent. Also the area felt where hotel located felt safe and fairly quite as it's on the edge of gaslamp where many of the tourist and party goers attend. Rooms was a bit small if 2 people staying in same room, but didn't need much space as was only myself occupying room since traveling for business. And didn't hear any noise through walls or in hall ways, although to be fair i was in a corner room and also not sure if anyone was in room next to me. That being said I recommend paying a few dollars extra if needed to obtain a corner room both for calmness and view. Overall great spot, highly recommend.

The location of hotel is at the historic heart of San Diego. Closing to Convention Center, Petco Park Stadium and lots of other landmarks. The working staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast included in room fee is good, but not so many choices of food. The room is clean and comfortable. However, the facilities are a little bit out of date. The air conditioner is an old fahsion one and somewhat noisy during sleeping hours. The TV is inputted with analog signal and seems rather vague, compared with digital HD signals. Other facilities are in good condition and work well. Considering the price, this hotel is recommended for those who have a limited budget for hotel.

Ms Liying Yan was extremely disappointed when she arrived at the Ramada Gaslamp Convention Center hotel as it was not at all what we expected. It was not clean and not at all what the website advertised. They also had the nerve to charge the credit card on file in September which is against the law and rules that were laid out for us when the reservation was made. We will never recommend this hotel to anyone in the future; way over priced for what was offered, a complete disappointment.

We had a great stay. The hotel is located in the heart of Gaslamp quarter, fill with restauratns, bars, shopping stores etc. Very convenient to go around using trolley. Staff has pleasant attitude and easy to talk to. We did not use any of the facility due to time constraint but went to look at the pool, was not too big and it was a busy weekend so it was full. However, the location makes it all great, we did not use any car during the stay; as we walk around places and using trolley to Seaport Village instead, which was very convenient. The only cons of this hotel is that it gets pretty noisy. We heard people walking by our room with loud noise at 2am. Also, the room facing the convention center is noisy from outside so avoid that side.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter. Check in was awesome and quick. Parking is valet and a little pricey ($39 per night) but I expected it at least it includes in & out privileges. Perfect location, not totally in the center of the Gaslamp Quarter so it's still quiet but only a short walk away. Small pool, but we are sooo close o the beach why settle for a pool anyway? Would definitely recommend this hotel. My pet enjoyed the stay too. She got her own pet bed from there... She still preferred my bed though.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time here since it was close to everything - trolley stations, bay and restaurants. Breakfast was good with sufficient variety. Hotel staff was great and very helpful. The bedroom was big and had a balcony - only trouble was the noise from the trains when they horned but the train noise could be heard miles away from the railway crossing since they were LOUD. The only problem we had was with the hotel's airport shuttle - we emailed them three times and had no response from them to confirm that they were going to come pick us up at the airport until we telephoned them after we've already arrived in San Diego airport. The shuttle came 15 minutes after that. The manager was quite apologetic about it when we queried this upon check-in.

Since all the high end conference hotels were booked, we were glad to find room at this small inn located about 20-30 minutes walk north of the waterfront convention area. The room and bath were very clean with comfortable linens. Staff were very accommodating, offering a free daily pass for 2 of us to a downtown fitness center within walking distance. Although the breakfast area was tiny, outdoor tables made breakfast enjoyable in the lovely weather. It was within a few blocks walk of the local bus to Balboa Park.

i was in san diego for a conference at the convention center earlier this month, and all the conference-recommended hotels were very expensive or booked. luckily, i found this hotel, and i couldn't have been more pleased! it's just 1/2 mile from the convention center (closer than some of the other conference hotels), 2 blocks from petco park, and a few blocks more from the center of the gaslamp district. the staff was very nice, and my room was beautiful. for anyone who's environmentally conscious, this was san diego's first leed-certified hotel!

Bayside was a great location to walk to the Pier or to Little Italy. Our 1 bedroom room with a sofa sleeper and kitchen had so much space for 3 people. Lots of counter space. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, including waffles; the fruit was always fresh and ripe! Loved the coffee and water available in the lobby as well as in the kitchen. Afternoon cookies were a delicious treat. The suppers were tasty as well. The open rooms with fire places on each side of the lobby were pretty and offered ping pong and other games. Wish all hotels could be as clean and comfortable as this one!!

Chris and I travel a lot, and while we may regularly say that we should write reviews, in reality we don’t often do it. On this occasion however, it’s an absolute priority for us that we take the opportunity to thank the team here for a truly wonderful experience. I had pre-arranged with the hotel for some amenities to be in the room (birthday surprise) and they were delighted to help with this. They organised a fabulous combo of cake, fruit and bubbles... thank you again! On arrival an early check-in was organised without hesitation. The room itself was modern and stylish and spacious. The bed super comfy. And we had a great view too! As it so happens, it was an extra special occasion for us (we got engaged!). We shared our news with the team when we checked out, and the sincerity of their joy & congratulations really was the icing on the cake! A special thanks to both Anna & Joanna for everything you did! The Declan Is now Pulse by Marriott... no longer declan so it made me a but confused at first i thought there were two hotels on the same property... but come to find out the place had been changed... there are a few nice upgrades in the room including the microwave and mini fridge in the rooms as well as a nice restroom area in the pool section. Valet service needs some help as they are lacking in the service department, but Looking forward to trying this out again at some point...

The Wyndham Bayside is in a great location, right along the waterfront in Downtown San Diego. I loved that we could walk or take a scooter to some of the best places in downtown. Our room was wonderful, felt luxurious, and was well taken care of. The mattress and sheets were good quality. The only thing I would caution anyone with is parking in a downtown hotel. We knew parking would be expensive but $35 on top of what we already paid was quite frustrating. Do your research on parking garages close to the hotel if you want to save money, choose a hotel with parking included, or be prepared to pay $35 per day.
