Find hotels in Red Light District

I had booked the Corner King room for the view. Definitely was not disappointed. Stayed there for one night only as San Diego was a spontaneous trip decided the day before and booked the room the day of. The hotel reminds me of a Vegas hotel. Very grand. It's off the ocean/bay so it's not close to the gaslamp district; that's where Lyft comes in handy. Do not take the carriage bag to th e hotel, it was a good $30. Def take Lyft back. Now for the negative. They didn't mention at check-in but using their valet was an additional $49!!! I choose that hotel because I thought it was all included. Wrong, so definitely NOT a Vegas like hotel in that aspect. Also, neither Agoda or the hotel mentioned that there's a resort fee (hyatt refers to it as a "destination fee"). Love the view but after the hidden fees I think I'll choose a different hotel next time I'm in San Diego. There's lots of other hotels that charge much less for valet ( self parking is $35!!!)

Superb, friendly and helpful staff, gave map of gas lamp district when I inquired about restaurants, staff was smiling and always happy to answer questions and concerns. The view was gorgeous, overlooking the Bay!! I will definitely refer this hotel to friends and family as well as I plan on returning to the hotel as soon as possible! Price was right for a 4-5 star hotel, gas lamp was within walking distance! I will be back hopefully sooner than later!

We spent the final 4 nights of our month long trip here, so glad we did. It was in the perfect location to access a lot of attractions, we happily walked to the seaport village and Westfield. It's right in little Italy so everywhere we ate at was super yummy. The parking was undercover valet parking and at $25 a day it was def cheap for the piece of mind. The only thing negative would be the breakfast, we got it for free with our room, we walked up there once and then didn't bother again and just walked around to the local little coffee shop instead Will def stay here again!

The staff make you feel like family. They go above and beyond to make your stay in San Diego the best possible. When you call the front desk they respond by answering with; Hello this is xxx, I can help you with anything. And they do! Late night extra water? Done. Extra towels? Done. Refill of what you were missing at breakfast time? Done. Big shout out to Keith and Marianela who really did everything they could for me and my colleagues! You should go visit them, I hope to really soon. The hotel itself is also lovely with beautifully decorated doors and pineapple details everywhere. It is walking distance to any Gaslamp destination and the convention centre. They have a shuttle service to take you around downtown if you don’t want to walk though. This team has thought of everything! The accommodations are amazing, but it’s really the people who made all the difference! We switched hotels during our stay, we were there on business and were sad to leave. I would 100% recommend!

Excellent location. Minutes to Little Italy for farmer's market, Gaslamp District & Convention Center. Cozy room with European style shower & large sink separated in room. Room has TV with satellite coverage, mini fridge, microwave, desk & chair, dresser/closet, iPod docking speaker/radio & many options for lights. Dog friendly hotel. Staff was professional, courteous, & helpful. Perks: walking tours available on weekends, 3 hour bicycle rental, yoga sessions, fruit infused water, newspaper, & dog treats at the lobby, etc. Parking options, each $38 nightly rate: open lot in the back for self parking or valet thru the hotel. There is also street metered parking & other independent lots within blocks from the hotel

Helpful staff and clean, this is a great place for the business traveler, I would even stay here with my wife. Just a 12-15 min walk to the convention center (3 minute scooter ride!). On the edge of the Gaslight District so you are walking distance close to restaurants. Older hotel so rooms are small but had everything I needed, small fridge, microwave, work space. Mattress was a little firm for me but I was there for 5 nights, probably wouldn't have noticed if only 1 or 2 nights. Great stay overall!

We had a great stay. The hotel is located in the heart of Gaslamp quarter, fill with restauratns, bars, shopping stores etc. Very convenient to go around using trolley. Staff has pleasant attitude and easy to talk to. We did not use any of the facility due to time constraint but went to look at the pool, was not too big and it was a busy weekend so it was full. However, the location makes it all great, we did not use any car during the stay; as we walk around places and using trolley to Seaport Village instead, which was very convenient. The only cons of this hotel is that it gets pretty noisy. We heard people walking by our room with loud noise at 2am. Also, the room facing the convention center is noisy from outside so avoid that side.

Since all the high end conference hotels were booked, we were glad to find room at this small inn located about 20-30 minutes walk north of the waterfront convention area. The room and bath were very clean with comfortable linens. Staff were very accommodating, offering a free daily pass for 2 of us to a downtown fitness center within walking distance. Although the breakfast area was tiny, outdoor tables made breakfast enjoyable in the lovely weather. It was within a few blocks walk of the local bus to Balboa Park.

Overall, it was a good choice. Worst part of it was that we were located close to the elevator we called "the groaner". It was noisy and a bit disruptive for my light sleeper husband. We had a room with a great view, away from the highway side, so road noise was not an issue. Dining facilities are lacking however, so plan to go offsite for meals. Not a bad thing, there's plenty to choose from close by.

i was in san diego for a conference at the convention center earlier this month, and all the conference-recommended hotels were very expensive or booked. luckily, i found this hotel, and i couldn't have been more pleased! it's just 1/2 mile from the convention center (closer than some of the other conference hotels), 2 blocks from petco park, and a few blocks more from the center of the gaslamp district. the staff was very nice, and my room was beautiful. for anyone who's environmentally conscious, this was san diego's first leed-certified hotel!

We are extremely pleased with our 11 night stay in this Westin Hotel. The receptionist was nice enough to assign an ocean view room to us and the room was beautiful. My wife said the bed was the most comfy one she ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was nice too. You can't find a better loation than this: right in the downtown area and close to everything, but far enough from the noisy gaslamp area so you don't need to worry about being waken up by some loud party in the middle of night. The only things that we are not satisfied with are that only valet parking is available and the free internet will kick you out every hour

Bayside was a great location to walk to the Pier or to Little Italy. Our 1 bedroom room with a sofa sleeper and kitchen had so much space for 3 people. Lots of counter space. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, including waffles; the fruit was always fresh and ripe! Loved the coffee and water available in the lobby as well as in the kitchen. Afternoon cookies were a delicious treat. The suppers were tasty as well. The open rooms with fire places on each side of the lobby were pretty and offered ping pong and other games. Wish all hotels could be as clean and comfortable as this one!!

The Declan Is now Pulse by Marriott... no longer declan so it made me a but confused at first i thought there were two hotels on the same property... but come to find out the place had been changed... there are a few nice upgrades in the room including the microwave and mini fridge in the rooms as well as a nice restroom area in the pool section. Valet service needs some help as they are lacking in the service department, but Looking forward to trying this out again at some point...

My overall experience was satisfactory as the location was prime, the staff was friendly on site and the views were breathtaking. The main con was that when I booked my reservation, I chose the option with a “concierge lounge.” I didn’t know what this amenity entailed so I contacted the hotel to find out and let them know for what day I was booking. It all sounded good so I booked it. The day I checked in was a Saturday and I was then told that they didn’t offer those amenities on a Saturday anyways...It was annoying that staff didn’t tell me this before booking when I called in specifically to ask about the Benefits of choosing that option in the first place. I didn’t want to dwell on that factor and ruin my trip, but I’ll definitely be asking more questions next time.

The Wyndham Bayside is in a great location, right along the waterfront in Downtown San Diego. I loved that we could walk or take a scooter to some of the best places in downtown. Our room was wonderful, felt luxurious, and was well taken care of. The mattress and sheets were good quality. The only thing I would caution anyone with is parking in a downtown hotel. We knew parking would be expensive but $35 on top of what we already paid was quite frustrating. Do your research on parking garages close to the hotel if you want to save money, choose a hotel with parking included, or be prepared to pay $35 per day.
