"Only issue was the odour coming from bathroom. I stayed a few years earlier and had forgotten about the bad bathroom smell. As soon as I started unpacking I smelled the bathroom odour and remembered why I had not been back to Sofia since last stay. This spoiled what would otherwise have been a great stay. The bad smell aside, the location of hotel is fantastic, walking distance to most of city highlights. The rooms are small, but to be expected from an old hotel. Staff were very friendly. Beautiful old building. "

"Clean room, excellent and friendly service, reasonable price were the primary factors I experienced at The Bristol Hotel. The close location to the Gaslamp District and Petco Ball Park were the initial reasons why I chose The Bristol and it did not disappoint. We were able to walk to the ball park, fine dining, nightlife, shopping, waterfront, etc."

"Beautiful old hotel. It has had some major reno’s. Basic rooms, ok size, queen bed with small square pillows. But nice ensite, AC, nice decor. Love the decor around the hotel. The whiskey bar, Dinning rooms have amazing decor. The staff are friendly, chatty, room made every day. Located in a quite one way street. But so many restaurants just a minute walk away. Tip, get a king room with a balcony. Only two things, no fridge in the room and the Horton holds functions and it is noisy. The functions stop at 10pm. "

The view was gorgeous, overlooking the Bay!! I will definitely refer this hotel to friends and family as well as I plan on returning to the hotel as soon as possible! Price was right for a 4-5 star hotel, gas lamp was within walking distance! I will be back hopefully sooner than later!"

"i was in san diego for a conference at the convention center earlier this month, and all the conference-recommended hotels were very expensive or booked. luckily, i found this hotel, and i couldn't have been more pleased! it's just 1/2 mile from the convention center (closer than some of the other conference hotels), 2 blocks from petco park, and a few blocks more from the center of the gaslamp district. the staff was very nice, and my room was beautiful. for anyone who's environmentally conscious, this was san diego's first leed-certified hotel!"

"The location of hotel is at the historic heart of San Diego. Closing to Convention Center, Petco Park Stadium and lots of other landmarks. The working staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast included in room fee is good, but not so many choices of food. The room is clean and comfortable. However, the facilities are a little bit out of date. The air conditioner is an old fahsion one and somewhat noisy during sleeping hours. The TV is inputted with analog signal and seems rather vague, compared with digital HD signals. Other facilities are in good condition and work well. Considering the price, this hotel is recommended for those who have a limited budget for hotel. "
