Ipoh is small and easily accessible. Still, being next to Ipoh Parade (shopping mall) is super convenient. Also you are literally 7 minutes walk away from dim sum heaven (Ming court, Foh San) Within the hotel, you have a good roof top pool and bar, tea lounge, Chinese restaurant and a restaurant on the ground level. Our room was great. Clean, big rooms, comfy beds. If I had to nit pick, the pillows were a bit hard for me. A pillow menu would be good. Breakfast had a good spread but the quality of food was disappointing. Shame!

Our 4 nights stay at the hotel were really worth it. Everyday staffs never miss to ask us whether we want the room to be cleaned. All staffs including guards were with smile, polite and friendly. Although the hotel did not serve breakfast, no need to worry as there are malay restaurants nearby to choose from. There is also self service laundry and clinic at the area. However, the hotel could improve on room and bathroom cleanliness. Other than that, all are satisfied for the reasonable price we pay. One piece of advice is to book through agoda as the price would be way cheaper compared to when you walk in to the hotel. Well done Golden Roof Hotel!

Hotel Excelsior is situated at the centre of Ipoh new town. Hotel offers parking which is important than parking at road side with parking fee. Basically most restaurants and confectionery shops are within walking distance. Ming Court and Foh San dim sum restaurant are just right behind of the hotel. Famous funny mountain's tau hu fah, Sin Eng Heong's kaya puff, Hong Kee's egg tart, Tuck Kee's mee, Salted chicken Aun Kheng Lim are 4-6 rows walking distance behind the hotel. If walking is not preferred, hotel has nice cafeteria or opposite the hotel there's a big Chinese restaurant.

We booked it thru smartphone’s Agoda’s app with lowest rate in last minutes, the process check in was very fast and friendly. I notice the walk-in rate is higher than what I got. The room is big enough and come with spectacular view, we love the room very much. I am surprise it has all the room’s amenities including drinking water and radio. The car park is free and on 4th floor with security guard looking over. The location is easy to find, however it has only one junction to enter, other junctions is not link and if missed need to make an u-turn far away… nearby has few food courts and convenience store. Opposite has 3 Chinese temple, one of the famous tourist attraction in Ipoh.

The first room we were given didn't have a safe (advertised) or bedside lights and the light in the shower area flashed like a strobe. They showed us several other rooms from which we could choose to move, which we thought was quite responsive. One was huge (we could have done salsa lessons), but with the same sparse furnishings as the others. Overall: - Pillows were terrible: HARD, unforgiving foam. - Poor TV channel selection (for westerners). - We had to request toilet paper (!?!). - Breakfast selection was unappetizing (scrambled eggs, for example, looked like wilted, overcooked cauliflower). Again, not catered to westerners. On our 2nd day there we just ate some fruit and then went out for dim sum. - While the bathroom itself was quite large, the glass "door" in the shower was not big enough; water splashed out, soaking the bath mat/floor (not a big deal, but mildly annoying). Best part was the location: easy to walk to lots of restaurants and even to the old part of city.

We stayed there for a night and we already fall in love with this hotel :-) besides friendly staff, this hotel is situated at a good location where all the famous food in Ipoh like Tim Sum, Beansprout Chicken Rice and etc are just around the corner within walking distance. There are good astro channels for you to watch if you don't feel like going out. Staffs are well trained and polite. Will definitely stay in this hotel again and will also recommend my friend and family to stay there.

I booked this hotel for a 3 days 2 night stays for my parents. They perfectly enjoy their stay. The hotel is strategically located near the station 18 Aeon, within walking distant. Hence, shopping and finding food are totally not a problem at all. The staffs working in the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. Overall, this is one of the best boutique hotels I have ever came across in Malaysia.

The hotel is located in the outskirts of Ipoh downtown. It takes 15-20 minute drive to the Old Town and 8-minute drive to Ming Yue Confectionery (if you are from Hong Kong, you know why I mention this). Staff members are super nice and patient. The hotel itself is artfully decorated. A pleasant stay with my mom, 78 years old, and my husband. The koi pond outside our room gave us a nice surprise. We stayed in a 5-star hotel in Penang and my mom said she loved Ipoh Bali Hotel better. In terms of facilities, I would give 5 marks if a swimming pool was available.

I book without breakfst. once proses c/in d reception , i got free breakfst. Im asking why, then the stuff said "hotel seri malaysia mmg akan bg skali breakfst walaupn book d agoda without breakfst. (dlm hati i mmg syukur sgt) tq hotel. Kolam renang kids ada, kolam renang dewasa pon ada.. Cafe? Yes!!! Cafe superb modern and mknan sume so yummy.. !! Staff cafe pon friendly.. Bilik family room sy ok kemas, bersih. Just suara tv skjp tengelam timbul.. Wifi dlm bilik x kuat mybe sbb jauh dri lobi. Some day i'll come again. In sha Allah

I was in Ipoh for my daughter's tennis tourbament. The hotel is just the hotelright hotel to serve my purposes. It is very near the Ipoh sport complex even its walking distance from the tennis court. Hotel room was big for the price and really clean. Wifi available from the room. The only ones need to improve is the breakfast which was very limited option. Car park is available.

alright, for the money I paid this is one of the best budget hotel I got, for its facilities (but for a single bed, not queen or king sized bed). This hotel is not located in town area instead it is in a area called Pangkalan (about 5km from town). Although it is a bit far from town, but around this hotel, you get tons of eateries, an Aeon shopping mall, McD, huge food court, lot of KTV and massage parlous as well.

Every part of the hotel makes for a beautiful shot and the room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The staffs were great and proactive in getting what I needed. My booking granted me a room without windows and the staffs made no fuss when I seek for a room with one. They even gave me one with the view of the mountains and that was genuine hospitality! It was a truly lovely experience and I highly recommend this hotel. A definite repeat!

We book a room over the weekend to visit our relative. As we have some work to do in KL, we only manage to check in around 1.00am early Sunday. Receptionist was really nice and the check in process was superb and quick. Room was clean and the sheets was crisp. Manage to had a good night sleep. Breakfast menu choice was limited. Taste was just ok. Servers are friendly. Good job, Manhattan Hotel. Definitely would come back again to stay. :)

The hotel surprisingly upgrade my room to Brewster Executive Suite from Brewster Studio. Room is super spacious with jacuzzi that can fits 2 person in the room. Well service from the front desk staff. Ordered in room dining but need to wait around 30-40 minutes. Nice view at the infinity pool and The Lawn. In addition, they have special lounge at Level 12 for all level 12 guest, that’s lovely and convenient. Anyhow, the choices not as much as the Ground floor lounge but it’s more than enough for us.

This hotel just newly open in Jan2016. Room was not really big but clean. No light box signboard at this hotel so it a bit difficult if u reach there at night time. No restaurant nearby by walking distance but u can find 24 hours fast food restaurant by driving 2 mins. Everything is good in this hotel and the best part is Astro channel was provided as well but the wifi connection was on and off failure.

I booked the room on the same day of arrival. My wife is attending a medical conference in another hotel in ipoh . We have to be there early morning next day.since the room is fully booked so we decided to stay in aestana a day befor the conference. We came with 2 small kids 1yr n 3yr old n arrived around 1am after departed frm kl at 9pm. The staff were very helpful n they were expecting us at the front door. They helped us with the luggage n accompany my wife n my sleepy kids to the room immediately. the check out was fast n the staff gave us a good direction to the conference hotel. Room is although small but its clean n makes us feel safe n satisfied with the reasonably cheap hotel rate that we paid. Thank you.

Location is good, in the center of town. Near to major facilities such as the General Hospital, Sri Maju Bus Station, and the Airport. Not to mention there's a lot of renown and cheap local delicacies within 5 to 10 km. Wifi speed is excellent as well! The hotel ISP is Time Fibre and I believed it is either a 30 Mbps or 50 Mbps as I did a speed test on my phone. I tried to book a room (on 13th Oct night, I arrived earlier) but their credit card machine malfunction and I don't have enough cash on me, the staff proposed a brilliant idea that I can pay for a room at half rate for half day so that I can accommodate one night before the booked date. This is a very good service and problem solving there. There's only one minor issue with the staying, the toilet door. The door cannot be lock, unsure if it is intentional or forgotten because there's a marking left on the door frame indicate it is to be removed for toilet door lock. Bad idea for family or friends staying in one room.

This is my third time stay at this hotel. If you are a solo traveller and a very private person, looking for a room for stay for 1 person, do look out for this hotel. The price is very affordable, and make sure booked from Agoda. The price is similiar to sharing @ dorm room. The place is quite easy to find. Only that it is far from Ipoh Town. About 20-30 mins to reach Ipoh town. But it is okay for me because of the price. The room is comfortable, have water heater, aircond was very cold, and I have a very good sleep. It is just that the wifi us very slow, and the mobile internet receiving was very poor, that i almost explode when I cant load, especially for Instagram apps 😂. Overall, there is more pros than cons staying at this place. Will definitely come and stay again. Oh ya, please bring along your own hanger, as there are no hanger provided in the room. Not sure whether can ask for it, but just bring along for your own safety 😁

to begin with, this must be the most comfortable budgeted hotel rooms we ever stayed in. we booked the cheapest room (twin room without window) and to our suprise it is not another matchbox, the room is spacious, shower is great and the design was lovely. as this hotel had a cafe counterpart, while we did not ordered anything, the pricing looked decent. the staffs were really friendly and helpful as well! parking is not a hassle as there are ample parking spots available. the only downside to this hotel is that, it is a 5-10 min drive away from the city center, unless u plan to take a cab/ drive, it is not as convenient as the other budgeted hotel. however, we do like the quiet ambience (it is located just outside the city center afterall)

hotel is a bit of a misnomer for this wonderful gem in an unexpected location - in a suburban residental area. it feels more like a private holiday home that you've been invited to stay in while the owners are away. there is no formal check-in, you book and pay through agoda and upon arriving at the hotel, show them your receipt and you'll be handed your keys. there was only one person around, a smiley young guy who spoke little english so if you're hoping to get some local tips on places to eat/go/things to do, you best rely on google. wifi is free in all the rooms, connection is fairly fast and stable. we met the owner's wife the next morning, a lovely lady who tipped us off on where to go for dim sum and it turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. we also found out that she and her husband are furniture manufacturers (their factory is in bukit merah, she offered to take us there) which explains all the stunning, unique wooden furniture that decorates the place. would definitely stay here again on my next visit to ipoh and highly recommend it. note: rooms don't come with breakfast, you have to request and pay separately. we didn't, hence the 'poor' rating - because there is no 'na' button

Pros -Room is clean and have most of thing you need as a biz traveller -staff is friendly and helpful -breakfast not bad and also come with a welcome drink -several food court is stone throw distance away -location is quiet and peaceful and parking is easy Cons -room consider small for the price -location is consider far(ipoh standard) from downtown ipoh -no satellite tv channels available -no bottled water(only cup style with straw) provided that you can easily carry around To sum it up, staying in this hotel is a pleasant experience and I will definitely consider coming back to this hotel on my next visit.

i have nothing to complain. Everything is value for money. Strategic location just across AOEN shopping mall, beautiful interior, comfortable beds, clean & new hotel (clean toilet is a plus point!) Kiblat sign for prayer is available in the room. However, there is no appropriate space for prayer (the only space available is just right beside the toilet). Perhaps the management can consider to prepare a prayer room (surau) in the hotel then i would give a full 5 marks for this hotel! will stay again. The best 2star hotel thus far.

Well i stay at this hotel 3 nights for business trip, and for solo travelling it is quite good. Clean room and friendly staff, it just that you don't have much choice on the cable TV channels. Wifi provided, quite fast and it is advisable if you could bring along your own cable extension (the room i stayed has power socket way far from my bed, even a laptop charger could not stretch enough). Overall it is a good place to rest after a whole day working :)
