This is my first time at this hotel. The room was spacious and very very clean. I opt for King size bed as i brought my 2 kids. the room was perfect and hardly for me to complaint. The kids 6 and 1 year old can play around in room. The carpet in the room is thick and realy love it. Bathroom also spacious and my kids love it. Recommend the room facing the river so you can enjoy nice view at night. Restaurant nearby beside( the hotel forgot the name )offered excellent food like laksa nasi goreng and cendol and the price is very reasonable. Just opposite the hotel you can rent a bicycle and enjoy cycling within the vicinity. Lastly, the staff also great and being so helpful. very professionals and did their best. I want to mention few names here MR JASPAL, MR SUBRA and MR ALIF these guys doing great job and i think the management should know on their effort. Will come again

Nice hotel, clean and simple. Staff is very polite. I will surely book again! Points for your guys out there: 1. Reception is opened 24/7 2. There are 2 secured parking, basement and on the opposite (open space with security) 3. Good security measures, using access card to go to the room level. 4. There is no electric kettle or mini fridge but there is a hot/cold water dispenser at every floor level lobby area 5. Ironing is also available at every floor lobby area. 6. They provide clear TV receiver plus 100HD movies free on the room TV - best thing ever!!!!!!! 7. Easy to get Grabcar 8. Near to Dataran Ipoh, Ipoh Parade etc 9. Nearby to town.

In these years, we have visited Malaysia several times and stayed at many different hotels. French Hotel is the best ever. My family booked two deluxe twin rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean. The wooden floor and lighting are modern and refreshing. Water pressure from the rain shower is terrific. Even the pillows and linen on the queen bed enables us to have a very nice sleep after a whole day's outing. The location is good. There is a bus stop right outside. It worths going for a ride by hopping on a bus there. Among all, the most impressive is the service from the reception. We arrived at the hotel early in the morning. The staff kept the luggage for us and later allowed us early check-in. When we first approached the reception, a young and cheerful lady called Wen speaking fluent Chinese, checked-in for us. Then, she gave us an informative map and introduced in details about where to have food and where for sight-seeing. Remember to empty your stomach before going to Wen as she will tell you about a very big local food court which opens after 4p.m. everyday. The food is really cheap and delicious. Don't miss it or you will regret! All in all, I felt like staying at a 5-star hotel at 3-star cost. For sure, I will stay at French Hotel if I visit Ipoh again. I will give it full mark if the room can keep a mini fridge.

1st time stay in pi hotel. Fast check in and friendly staff. Only 3 things Im not satisfied was the room they gave me "810" have some problems - basin's mixer spoil with only hot water supply cause me brush teeth half way have to go into the shower area use the shower mixer. 2nd the body shampoo machine was out of service when I bath half way...damn! Cause me have to make a phone call ask them send me bath gel with a paper cup to my room and im on the middle of the bath! 3rd was the roon overall look like clean but actually have a lot of dust because i have a very sensitive nose. But at the end the staff shift me to another new room at "319" and thanks god everything was fine after shift into new room so just forgive them. The next morning when I woke up I leave a msg at reception counter ask them to do house keeping when I wanna go out, unfortunately during the night time when I back to my room the situation still same like morning without any house keeping. I purposely went down to reception to feedback and that time have 2chinese guys at reception and I dunno their name just can firgure out are "one fat, short with spec and another one is tall n thin". They talk nicely and good manner apologies with their miss out service. At the end this 2chinese guys still send me a room service for their sincerely apologies make feel so surprise and forget about the mad and happy to see the humble nice service. So definitely I will come back again when I visit ipoh. Thanks for the room service and keep it up. Hope to see the improvement when my next visit soon. Thanks Oh ya, the hotel location very good because all the famous places and foods was just nearby and the best things I like is the hotel provides free car park with security for only guest. Reasonable price with not bad interior decor. This hotel also very good with provide the information with all nearby famous foods to convenience/easier guests from outstation to find the place. I was surprised at how centrally located the hotel was. Pub street was just behind, far enough so you don't hear the loud music from your room, but close enough to just take a 2 minute stroll to some of the best nightspots in town. It was also relatively near to a lot of the famous food shops. Two of the best dim sum in town are just a 4-minute walk away, perfect way to start your day. We took the triple room, and there was even a balcony. And the bathroom was so huge. Free drinking water too, just bring your own bottle down to the lobby to fill up. Also they had several reserved parking spots for guests at the back of the hotel, perfect if you are driving and do not want to pay for public parking by the roadside. I would really recommend this hotel, especially for other Malaysians making a short trip to Ipoh.

The only reason to stay in the hotel was to have a place to overnight after spending one full day at Lost World of Tambun. We only checked in late evening ie around 6pm and it was raining heavily at that point of time. The check in process was very fast and the staff there were very helpful to help fetching my kids from the car with all the stuff along and showing the direction to the food outlet if we were to eat outside the hotel. The kids were too hungry and lucky the hotel provides a cafe which is opened until 12pm daily. Food? Not bad at all for the price that we paid considering its a cafe and it is in the 3 star hotel. I liked both rooms that we checked in - spacious room for the kids and spacious bathrooms too. The next morning, we walked to the pasar for breakfast and had the best traditional breakfast overthere ie pulut ikan masin, mihun soto - awesome. Overall, thumbs up for the hotel facilities, the service provides by the staff and the location. I will definitely consider this hotel for my next trip to Ipoh.

Walking distance from Medan Kidd Terminal where we were being dropped off. We had arrived slightly an hour early before check-in. The waiting area was spacious and comfy. The aircon is gd since it as scorching hot outside. The receptionist was kind to give us the wifi when we asked for it. After 2pm though, we were still sitting and waiting. Apparently, the receptionist had forgotten about us. However, after she realised it, she apologised to us & promptly check us in. Right at the 1st floor, there is a water dispenser by the lift. Price for the standard double room was reasonable. They had the basic amenities like water bottles, towels, heater, hairdryer and aircon. Bed/pillows/blanket was comfy. No toothbrushes in the room though. Liked that they have cable TV channels. The hotel is in a strategic location for many yummy foods that are just within walking distance. Its also nearby to interesting sights like the wall murals..or shopping place like the Ipoh Parade.

Stayed with my elderly parents and we booked the family room which had a double bed and single bed. The rooms are new and modern, quite basic, but all that you would need. Room safe, fridge, fantastic shower with really hot water and option to use the "rain shower", aircon, hair dryer, TV, free wifi. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but just behind the hotel are 2 of the best dimsum restaurants in Ipoh, serving good local fare. There are other restaurants nearby for dinner and there is a new shopping mall at 5 mins walking distance. It's a 20 min walk to Ipoh Old Town. The other good thing about the hotel was that they are affiliated with Ipoh Overland Tours and the hotel staff facilitated the tour bookings for day trips with your own driver to where you wanted to go.

Location is good, easy to find food. Downstairs pizza hut, opposite KFC, if cross road (jl dato on jafaar), there's big parking lot, you can find Pusing Public restaurant, famous with locals and always crowded. Other famous restaurants are nearby, can be reached by foot. Easy to find taci Staff is friendly and helps with local tour booking and booking taxi. We book triple room, not so big but ok for us. Room and toilet is clean, only pillows are hard. Overall it's good stay

It's not a luxury hotel. It's an cozy & comfortable budget hotel that's located at the heart of the Old Town - this shall enable covering the Mural Art Lanes and all the heritage buildings by walk. If the requirement is to find a decent place to Lodge for a few days, while most time will be spent in visiting places in Ipoh, then this should be the best option. Comes with a bare minimum breakfast (couple of bread slices and coffee/tea) but they plan to increase options I reckon. They've a nice piano in their lobby, few books to read and a small shop got a quick bite / drink. Fully covered with WiFi and rooms come with TV and AC. There is no parking on the premises. There are paid slots outside so pls be sure to grab parking tokens from 7/11 or happy marts. Overall it was a pleasant stay and will definitely consider future stays as well.

I love the location. We can merely walk to concubine lane, Stesen Keretapi, Masjid Negeri and have the famous food court Medan Selera Dato Sagor. Plus, the food court also have clock tower JWW Birch memorial. The hotel is cheap and you can request iron at the receptionist. It also provide water dispenser. The room size is comfortable even it is name as budget hotel. Cons : No elevator. Quite hard for elderly to reach 3rd floor 😅 I would like to recommend this hotel to everyone!

I mentioned the three best things and the three worst were, 1 There was an ant problem in the room, 2 there was a problem with the phone system so we were constantly getting incoming calls, booking enquiries etc! 3 on our last nights stay there were hoons treating the street outside like a drag strip, very noisy!! But having said that I would recommend and would use the hotel again myself.

I stayed at New Caspian Hotel for a night. The location is superb, just 5 minutes walk to most famous restaurants, 20 minutes drive to Tambun Hot Springs. Upon check- in, the room's floor was very dusty but we requested the staff to mop it and they gladly obliged. There were also mosquitoes in the room as mentioned by a few reviewers so I came prepared with my mosquito spray. There was no remote control for the aircon so the temperature cannot be adjusted- it was a little too cold. Nevertheless, for one night's stay in Ipoh town at such a cheap price with free carpark just beside the hotel (also, with a guard watching over) was a really good deal!

I had probably th me best sleep possible at container hotel. If you don't mind the occasional door opening and closing. It's a hotel at a hostel price, with hotel quality. The location is down a straight road from the train station, though the surrounding area closes early, the "new town Ipoh" is about a 15-20 minute walk away. You should still be able to find some food shops open past 5PM, like Lou Wong, Old Town Coffee, and other small shops. With that, it is about a 15 minute walk to the old bus terminal Medan Kidd, where local buses are and there is also an Express bus to Taiping - without having to go all the way to Terminal Amanjaya. Did I mention, there's a slide?

The toilet of 1st floor is what they shown but it was totally different for the 2nd floor, not as nice as what I thought. There is only 1 hair dryer in the hotel and the sound system is bad. You can hear every little sound from next door and the parking is quite dangerous as the garage is in a back street although the receptionist wait for us until we got into hotel after parking. But so far so good but not recommend for elder to stay as they have to use stairs.

excellent hotel! we already have lived here for five days. staff are so friendly and always give us good advice. This room is the most biggest room we live and the cheapest as well. Even the location is in old town so you have to walk to city 10-15mins. If you have limited budget and enough time, I really recommend you stay here! air conditioning is good, space is big, room is clean. price is affordable. it's really nice hotel! And it's easy get Uber or Grab. so don't worry about transportation. 😁
