Hotels near Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken

Excellent for families or business trips. Limited secured basement parking of about 10 lots with 3 on the outside of the building. Breakfast was from KFC was a bit disappointing with just rice, 1 egg and 1 piece of chicken even though the lobby had displayed facilities for breakfast. Stayed for 2 nights and it was the same KFC breakfast which was even delivered late and we had to rush the kids else we would have missed our flight. It's more of a business hotel than for families with young kids looking to enjoy the Lost World of Tambun theme park while in Ipoh. No need to select breakfast during bookings. The money could have been saved for a better spread at any nearby eateries.

Hotel Pi used to be Tune Hotel in Ipoh, so it's no surprise when I enter that the entire interior was red, and tailored to the Tune Hotel design. The room was tidy, bathroom was clean, and overall I am quite happy with it. However if you are someone that demands the sheets are ironed, then you might cut points as the pillowcase was creased, and the comforter was not ironed as well. The hotel has a gym, but when we enquired, the gym was under renovation so we couldn't try it out. The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of the famous Bean Sprout Chicken Rice shops, and Funny Mountain Soya Bean. It's about 10-15 minutes walk away from old town (where the street arts are), but it's a pretty enjoyable walk along the main road and crossing the Kinta River. Overall, the price that you pay for the room surpasses the minor complaints that we have.

We booked family room n was given a free upgrade by Dikson for the comfort of family stay! Nice n cosy environment! There was 4 lots of parking provided at our convenience. It is 3 mins walking distance to Ming Court dimsum, 8 mins walk to Sam Teck tong sui kai for dinner or supper n 10mins walk to shop at Ipoh Parade. Morning walk to Funny Mountain for soya bean is around 5 mins. All locations are within walking distance. Hotel was facilitated with lift, TV, fridge, mini counter within the room. Will definitely stay here again when coming to Ipoh n also recommend to friends. Rm250 for a night is definitely worth the stay. Keep up the good job Z Hotel

We arrived late but hotel security guard was exceptional helpful and friendly. Our car is parked inside a carpark which is shuttered and locked for the night! Never before have I felt so safe for my car while in Malaysia! Hotel is within walking distance to the famous salt-baked chicken and bean sprout chicken eating places of Lou Wong. Also Funny Mountain soy bean drink store.

Upon check-in, we were served by a staff with the name of Jessy and she requested a refundable security deposit of RM50. She was indeed friendly and helpful by providing us guide and info about what to eat around the vicinity. One of the main factors we chosen this hotel is for its strategic and excellent location. The hotel is located right in the middle of city center surrounded by many famous eateries such as salted chicken, popular Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken, Funny Mountain Tao Foo Fah, Foh San Dim Sum and more. Beside eateries, there are even quite number of shops selling confectionery and infamous White Coffee. Free Wifi internet connection within each and every of the room and for the hotel guests with car, there is a free parking space provided. Although the room was basic, small and compact but it was fairly comfortable and adequate for three of us.

Location -- downstairs is Pizza Hut, and KFC is right opposite the hotel. "The Store" departmental store is just 2 mins walk away. A lot of eateries nearby, but those famous ones (lou wong bean sprout chicken, etc) requires 5-10mins. Room -- we booked two triple rooms. The one located at the corner is spacious. The bed is comfortable and clean, aircon is cold. Kettle is provided, with sachets of 3-in-1 coffee. The only thing to be improved is that the toilet seat and the floor around basin is always wet because there isnt any "door" between the shower and the basin/toilet. Would come back again for the price paid.

I had a bit of a hiccup checking in - looked like my payment didn't go through in their system (I booked through Agoda but it was showing Booking.com) so I just had to confirm that I didn't pay and paid upon my arrival. The rooms were very clean and just what anyone needs when traveling for just a few days. Otherwise, the staff was incredibly accommodating and SO kind. One of the staff members let me borrow his personal iPhone charger when I realized I forgot my adapter for the outlets. Then unfortunately, I was mugged walking down the street in a bad neighborhood and (who I believe was) the owner of the hotel came to find me at the police station to be by my side and help if needed. He also changed my room (upgraded nonetheless) since the robber had my hotel key. I will be forever grateful to this hotel and their staff, as they made me feel so very much at home at a time that I was wishing I was not in this city at all. Thank you very much Brick Box!!

Had a one night stay during my recent business trip. Everyone was saying that this is the best hotel they had ever stay of all the business trips we travelled around Malaysia. Back to this hotel, I would say the location is quite strategic and there is a shopping mall beside this hotel. This hotel is quite near to Penang bridge so if you opt to travel to the island for a visit is definitely not a major issue but provided you must have a car to travel around to try the local food. Hotel room is spacious, clean, modern, air-conditioner is very cooling, touch and go security to access to the rooms, free wifi provided, security box, breakfast was good and comparable to Cititel Penang and Bayview Hotel in the island. This hotel is a much better choice for both business or family vacation as compare to the opposite road Pearl View Hotel which is a nightmare for me.

I mentioned the three best things and the three worst were, 1 There was an ant problem in the room, 2 there was a problem with the phone system so we were constantly getting incoming calls, booking enquiries etc! 3 on our last nights stay there were hoons treating the street outside like a drag strip, very noisy!! But having said that I would recommend and would use the hotel again myself.

If you are looking for a simple, cost-effective place to stay with basic facilities (like place to rest/bath) for a night or 2, this is a good recommendation. This is not a luxury hotel but provide good services for basic hospitality needs. Pros: - Walk over the street abt 100meters to "Tong Sui Kai" for full range of street food. - Famous eateries like "Low Wong" bean sprout chicken, Funny Mountain soya bean, Salted Chicken all at walkable distance. - Big shopping center AEON is just 5min walk away. - Ample private car park for abt 10+ cars. - Hotel provide water kettle if you ask them. Take note this is classic hotel (80's feel) with basic facilities. Don't compare with 3-5 stars hotel. Wifi available but signal low at corner rooms. Good for its price & location. Recommended for just a quick stop for a night or two.

I had probably th me best sleep possible at container hotel. If you don't mind the occasional door opening and closing. It's a hotel at a hostel price, with hotel quality. The location is down a straight road from the train station, though the surrounding area closes early, the "new town Ipoh" is about a 15-20 minute walk away. You should still be able to find some food shops open past 5PM, like Lou Wong, Old Town Coffee, and other small shops. With that, it is about a 15 minute walk to the old bus terminal Medan Kidd, where local buses are and there is also an Express bus to Taiping - without having to go all the way to Terminal Amanjaya. Did I mention, there's a slide?

excellent hotel! we already have lived here for five days. staff are so friendly and always give us good advice. This room is the most biggest room we live and the cheapest as well. Even the location is in old town so you have to walk to city 10-15mins. If you have limited budget and enough time, I really recommend you stay here! air conditioning is good, space is big, room is clean. price is affordable. it's really nice hotel! And it's easy get Uber or Grab. so don't worry about transportation. 😁
