Hotels near Kinta Riverfront Walk

First timer staying in Kinta Riverfront,.,. The check in was smooth, friendly reception staff,.,. No hassle getting to the room,.,. First impression of the room was great ( Superior Room ),.,.,Neat and clean room,.,. Nice environment looking lobby which will be great for picture taking,.,. The japanese restaurant Shinjuku at the lobby level is highly recommended to japanese food lovers out there,.,. The only minor prob we encountered during the stay when we went for the breakfast buffet where the lack of staff in handling the guests at the restaurant, which the supervisor at the restaurant itself acknowledged to us,.,. The dishes were insufficient for the number of guests,.,. Had to wait around 10-15mins for the dishes to be replenished, and the dishes were prepared in rush to meet the guests demand which we ended up with less tasty food ( some food had the burnt smell on them ),.,. The egg station was handled by one cook and there was like 15 ppl queuing up for the eggs ( some were like queuing for almost 20mins ),.,. So it will be nice if the management can look into this and be well prepared with the guests number especially during the weekend,.,., But would really recommend the place as it is a great place to stay and spend your holiday in Ipoh,.,.!!

Cititel Express was an excellent value choice for my train journey visit to Ipoh. The location was excellent - a reasonably easy and immensely enjoyable walk from historic train station along a heritage route to hotel, which took me only 5-10 minutes. Charming restaurants in Old Town - (I went to Burps & Giggles for breakfast, which I recommend), are only a few minutes walk away. In the morning I ran along the Kinta Riverfront trail and adjacent parks from immediately in front of the hotel, creating a nice 2-kilometer loop past locals doing morning tai chi and dance routines. My 10th floor room facing east had views of the nearby limestone hills and modern buildings newer section of Ipoh along with more distant mountains. The room itself was clean, quiet and comfortable. The reception was very friendly I would certainly choose Cititel Express again. Otherwise, the nearby Container Hotel looked like the other great location for visiting the charming historic section of Ipoh and being within walking distance of the train station.

The room was spacious, the hotel newly renovated. Comfortable. Internet worked OK. No discount vis a vis online booking. Breakfast was weird - you had to choose between three options the night before. They gave you a coupon in the morning. Breakfast was one plate, adequate, unless you like stuffing yourself at a buffet. "American Breakfast" was a piece of chicken sausage, some baked beans, bits of pan-fried potatoes, two fried eggs and tea or coffee. Breakfast place was some sort of artsy bistro on the second floor, would have been quite expensive if breakfast weren't "free" (to give you some idea - some very small bagels could be had for RM7 each). You could get ice at the bistro for the room - it was free the first two days, and then they charged me RM1 for the ice on the third day, but I was glad I could get it. Lots of food around, including a food court (satay, etc.) about three blocks away, several mamak shops in the general vicinity, and if you're into that, several Chinese restaurants (including the "Spinning Restaurant" right behind the hotel). And some very good Yemeni food a 10 minute walk away (directly opposite the Kinta Riverfront Hotel). Shopping? Well, Kamdar about three blocks away, The Store a block away - and a Pasar Malam maybe three blocks to the east.

I was surprised at how centrally located the hotel was. Pub street was just behind, far enough so you don't hear the loud music from your room, but close enough to just take a 2 minute stroll to some of the best nightspots in town. It was also relatively near to a lot of the famous food shops. Two of the best dim sum in town are just a 4-minute walk away, perfect way to start your day. We took the triple room, and there was even a balcony. And the bathroom was so huge. Free drinking water too, just bring your own bottle down to the lobby to fill up. Also they had several reserved parking spots for guests at the back of the hotel, perfect if you are driving and do not want to pay for public parking by the roadside. I would really recommend this hotel, especially for other Malaysians making a short trip to Ipoh.

The only reason to stay in the hotel was to have a place to overnight after spending one full day at Lost World of Tambun. We only checked in late evening ie around 6pm and it was raining heavily at that point of time. The check in process was very fast and the staff there were very helpful to help fetching my kids from the car with all the stuff along and showing the direction to the food outlet if we were to eat outside the hotel. The kids were too hungry and lucky the hotel provides a cafe which is opened until 12pm daily. Food? Not bad at all for the price that we paid considering its a cafe and it is in the 3 star hotel. I liked both rooms that we checked in - spacious room for the kids and spacious bathrooms too. The next morning, we walked to the pasar for breakfast and had the best traditional breakfast overthere ie pulut ikan masin, mihun soto - awesome. Overall, thumbs up for the hotel facilities, the service provides by the staff and the location. I will definitely consider this hotel for my next trip to Ipoh.

Stayed with my elderly parents and we booked the family room which had a double bed and single bed. The rooms are new and modern, quite basic, but all that you would need. Room safe, fridge, fantastic shower with really hot water and option to use the "rain shower", aircon, hair dryer, TV, free wifi. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but just behind the hotel are 2 of the best dimsum restaurants in Ipoh, serving good local fare. There are other restaurants nearby for dinner and there is a new shopping mall at 5 mins walking distance. It's a 20 min walk to Ipoh Old Town. The other good thing about the hotel was that they are affiliated with Ipoh Overland Tours and the hotel staff facilitated the tour bookings for day trips with your own driver to where you wanted to go.

Location -- downstairs is Pizza Hut, and KFC is right opposite the hotel. "The Store" departmental store is just 2 mins walk away. A lot of eateries nearby, but those famous ones (lou wong bean sprout chicken, etc) requires 5-10mins. Room -- we booked two triple rooms. The one located at the corner is spacious. The bed is comfortable and clean, aircon is cold. Kettle is provided, with sachets of 3-in-1 coffee. The only thing to be improved is that the toilet seat and the floor around basin is always wet because there isnt any "door" between the shower and the basin/toilet. Would come back again for the price paid.

I had a bit of a hiccup checking in - looked like my payment didn't go through in their system (I booked through Agoda but it was showing Booking.com) so I just had to confirm that I didn't pay and paid upon my arrival. The rooms were very clean and just what anyone needs when traveling for just a few days. Otherwise, the staff was incredibly accommodating and SO kind. One of the staff members let me borrow his personal iPhone charger when I realized I forgot my adapter for the outlets. Then unfortunately, I was mugged walking down the street in a bad neighborhood and (who I believe was) the owner of the hotel came to find me at the police station to be by my side and help if needed. He also changed my room (upgraded nonetheless) since the robber had my hotel key. I will be forever grateful to this hotel and their staff, as they made me feel so very much at home at a time that I was wishing I was not in this city at all. Thank you very much Brick Box!!

I mentioned the three best things and the three worst were, 1 There was an ant problem in the room, 2 there was a problem with the phone system so we were constantly getting incoming calls, booking enquiries etc! 3 on our last nights stay there were hoons treating the street outside like a drag strip, very noisy!! But having said that I would recommend and would use the hotel again myself.

I stayed at New Caspian Hotel for a night. The location is superb, just 5 minutes walk to most famous restaurants, 20 minutes drive to Tambun Hot Springs. Upon check- in, the room's floor was very dusty but we requested the staff to mop it and they gladly obliged. There were also mosquitoes in the room as mentioned by a few reviewers so I came prepared with my mosquito spray. There was no remote control for the aircon so the temperature cannot be adjusted- it was a little too cold. Nevertheless, for one night's stay in Ipoh town at such a cheap price with free carpark just beside the hotel (also, with a guard watching over) was a really good deal!

I arrived at the hotel around 230 am in the morning after making last minute booking and there was no one waited for me at the reception. I made calls to the number provided in the booking voucher twice and the staff came down with sleepy face. The best thing was, he had given me great service despite his sleep was disturbed. This was my very first time staying at the hotel and experiencing such great customer service left me nothing but satisfaction! I even made a great review bout this hotel over my social media - of the staff, the bed and even the toilet! I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who travels alone or with group. ;)

The toilet of 1st floor is what they shown but it was totally different for the 2nd floor, not as nice as what I thought. There is only 1 hair dryer in the hotel and the sound system is bad. You can hear every little sound from next door and the parking is quite dangerous as the garage is in a back street although the receptionist wait for us until we got into hotel after parking. But so far so good but not recommend for elder to stay as they have to use stairs.

excellent hotel! we already have lived here for five days. staff are so friendly and always give us good advice. This room is the most biggest room we live and the cheapest as well. Even the location is in old town so you have to walk to city 10-15mins. If you have limited budget and enough time, I really recommend you stay here! air conditioning is good, space is big, room is clean. price is affordable. it's really nice hotel! And it's easy get Uber or Grab. so don't worry about transportation. 😁
