My son and I both really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Weil. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever tried. ALL the Staff are nice and helpful and service at every level and dept are ALL excellent. The room is very comfortable and also on the 10th floor room we had the view of Ipoh surroundings is very nice, and esp the surrounding limestone hills / mountains. Another big asset is the hotel is connected to the Ipoh Parade Mall which has many kinds of good restaurants. Note that the hotel and most others fill up on weekends -- evidently filled up because of local foodie tourists coming to Ipoh, even foodies from Singapore. Ipoh till now has its excellent food (reputation) basically everywhere. Ipoh main lacking though is ease of transport. Going out of the hotel is quite easy but not going back. So Weil Hotel location is a plus too since it is so central and many places are within walking distance. We got a local 3G data card for our tablet and used that to navigate the streets. All in all I think Weil is likely the best hotel in Ipoh now. Weil is setting the bar now for real value and excellent comfort. And then of course is the everywhere food in Ipoh -- a main everyday pursuit for excellent taste and tummy happy time !!

Our 4 nights stay at the hotel were really worth it. Everyday staffs never miss to ask us whether we want the room to be cleaned. All staffs including guards were with smile, polite and friendly. Although the hotel did not serve breakfast, no need to worry as there are malay restaurants nearby to choose from. There is also self service laundry and clinic at the area. However, the hotel could improve on room and bathroom cleanliness. Other than that, all are satisfied for the reasonable price we pay. One piece of advice is to book through agoda as the price would be way cheaper compared to when you walk in to the hotel. Well done Golden Roof Hotel!

Hotel is near and accessible from Ipoh railway station, about rm6 - 7 with grab, also near to ipoh parade shopping centre. Less than half hour to Kek Lok Tong cave temple. Few dim sum restaurants / coffee shops just behind / near the hotel. Also about 15 min walk to the area where there is the famous chicken rice stall, other eateries, shops selling local food products, night street shopping (short street) which probably starts about 8pm. Room on high floor facing road (front of hotel) has good scenic view. Room does not have slippers. Welcome drinks at lounge provided via voucher (redeemable at stated hours). For the hotel pricing, the breakfast spread is not much however there are a couple of cooking stations for noodles, eggs. Breakfast table had ants. Hotel has shuttle service stop to lost world of tambun.

If you're traveling with 2 kids or more and need space, getting an apartment is always a better choice vs another hotel room. tower regency fits the bill despite some negative comments I read. The 2 room apartment on the 16th floor that we got had a great view and was simple but adequate for our needs. Cleanliness was 3 star standard. If you're looking to use it as a base camp to rest, recuperate and travel from, it's ideal. We spend most of the day outside visiting Gua tempurung, water rafting, tambun theme park, eating etc so it was nice to get back to a centralize location hotel, take a hot shower and sleep on reasonably comfy beds. If we have any complaints it is that we got only 4 pillows and was given 1 additional when requested. at least another 1 or 2 would have been nice to use as bolsters :)

I booked this hotel for a 3 days 2 night stays for my parents. They perfectly enjoy their stay. The hotel is strategically located near the station 18 Aeon, within walking distant. Hence, shopping and finding food are totally not a problem at all. The staffs working in the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. Overall, this is one of the best boutique hotels I have ever came across in Malaysia.

The room was great. Koi fish in the pond that runs the whole perimeter of the ground floor side that we stayed on. Fantastic authentic Bali massages, down to the cleansing towel, foot wash and ginger tea before the massage. Great tours. I recommend the Cameron Highlands, and the cave church. Great staff. A special shout out to Tom, the chauffeur of the private car you can hire. Tom made our trip to Malaysia. Your a champion bloke Tom.

I book without breakfst. once proses c/in d reception , i got free breakfst. Im asking why, then the stuff said "hotel seri malaysia mmg akan bg skali breakfst walaupn book d agoda without breakfst. (dlm hati i mmg syukur sgt) tq hotel. Kolam renang kids ada, kolam renang dewasa pon ada.. Cafe? Yes!!! Cafe superb modern and mknan sume so yummy.. !! Staff cafe pon friendly.. Bilik family room sy ok kemas, bersih. Just suara tv skjp tengelam timbul.. Wifi dlm bilik x kuat mybe sbb jauh dri lobi. Some day i'll come again. In sha Allah

We booked a double superior but were only given a standard room with single beds as reception claimed Agoda had not provided booking details and they were full over Chinese New Year. That said, we were in the new wing and it was a very spacious room and well maintained, certainly when compared to similar star rated Malaysian hotels. Reception staff were always helpful with taxi bookings etc. The Breakfast included was Asian style buffet and wouldn't appeal to Western taste. The hotel was a little 'remote' but there were plenty of taxis on call to go into the City or to the various natural tourist attractions.

3 of us hired Ian to bring us for 1 day tour (food & sightseeing) with his car. he charged us rm40/hour. I must say that it is value for money. early in the morning,he brought us to residential estate for very good wat-tan-hor and cheap. after breakfast he brought to gua tempurung-a big cave. he then brought us to have chee-cheong-fun and otak-otak for lunch. they are home made and delicious too. ordinary tourists will never find these places. even they found it, they will have to wait for very long time to be served (min. 1 hour). as Ian has good relationship with them, we did not wait long. after that he brought to the famous white coffee-nam heong c-shop where we tried very good egg tart too. he brought to walk around old/new town of Ipoh and tasted fomous dessert named funny mountain "tou-hue"-bean curd. we bought some local tit-bits, and went back to hotel for a rest as the kid was a little tired. we went out for dinner with him after 2 hours rest. he brought us to a local food centre named "dong-gu-teng" where we a wide variety of local food and they are delicious too. we hired his service for total 8 hours and I must say that we have got everything done conveniently. he is so friendly that I would make a strongly recommendation.

We booked only for a night over weekend. The hotel is new, clean & at a fairly good location. It's near Tesco & Aeon. Also a short distance drive to other tourist attractions (e.g. Old Ipoh Town, Concubine Lane, temple caves, all the famous eateries, etc, etc). The hotel staff were friendly & helpful. They serve good breakfast at the New Yorker Cafe too. The cafe is quite a cozy place with friendly & courteous staff. The cons are; room quite small & we could smell smoke in our room despite all rooms being non-smoking. Not sure where it came from though. However, they responded fast by offering to spray air fresher in our room, well, at least action was taken. Aside from these 2 areas, the rest are fine. Overall it's a good place to stay for short holidays.

The hotel surprisingly upgrade my room to Brewster Executive Suite from Brewster Studio. Room is super spacious with jacuzzi that can fits 2 person in the room. Well service from the front desk staff. Ordered in room dining but need to wait around 30-40 minutes. Nice view at the infinity pool and The Lawn. In addition, they have special lounge at Level 12 for all level 12 guest, that’s lovely and convenient. Anyhow, the choices not as much as the Ground floor lounge but it’s more than enough for us.

Overall stay was good. Took the Garden Suite and the room was superb. Nice comfortable bed and a nice design of toilet. Rainshower. Small open air garden next to shower room. Honestly feel a bit unsecured to have an open air (top) as the surrounding was quiet. Maybe it just me who feel a bit unsecured. The private parking is exactly infront of the door step. really happy with that. its covered. Hotel staff can be trained to be more proffesional. But overall they were good. All famous Restaurants and Tambun hotsping all within 5-10km radius from hotel. Kellie's Castle -30 min drive. Gua temupurung 30-45 min drive.

I booked the room on the same day of arrival. My wife is attending a medical conference in another hotel in ipoh . We have to be there early morning next day.since the room is fully booked so we decided to stay in aestana a day befor the conference. We came with 2 small kids 1yr n 3yr old n arrived around 1am after departed frm kl at 9pm. The staff were very helpful n they were expecting us at the front door. They helped us with the luggage n accompany my wife n my sleepy kids to the room immediately. the check out was fast n the staff gave us a good direction to the conference hotel. Room is although small but its clean n makes us feel safe n satisfied with the reasonably cheap hotel rate that we paid. Thank you.

Location is good, in the center of town. Near to major facilities such as the General Hospital, Sri Maju Bus Station, and the Airport. Not to mention there's a lot of renown and cheap local delicacies within 5 to 10 km. Wifi speed is excellent as well! The hotel ISP is Time Fibre and I believed it is either a 30 Mbps or 50 Mbps as I did a speed test on my phone. I tried to book a room (on 13th Oct night, I arrived earlier) but their credit card machine malfunction and I don't have enough cash on me, the staff proposed a brilliant idea that I can pay for a room at half rate for half day so that I can accommodate one night before the booked date. This is a very good service and problem solving there. There's only one minor issue with the staying, the toilet door. The door cannot be lock, unsure if it is intentional or forgotten because there's a marking left on the door frame indicate it is to be removed for toilet door lock. Bad idea for family or friends staying in one room.

This is my third time stay at this hotel. If you are a solo traveller and a very private person, looking for a room for stay for 1 person, do look out for this hotel. The price is very affordable, and make sure booked from Agoda. The price is similiar to sharing @ dorm room. The place is quite easy to find. Only that it is far from Ipoh Town. About 20-30 mins to reach Ipoh town. But it is okay for me because of the price. The room is comfortable, have water heater, aircond was very cold, and I have a very good sleep. It is just that the wifi us very slow, and the mobile internet receiving was very poor, that i almost explode when I cant load, especially for Instagram apps 😂. Overall, there is more pros than cons staying at this place. Will definitely come and stay again. Oh ya, please bring along your own hanger, as there are no hanger provided in the room. Not sure whether can ask for it, but just bring along for your own safety 😁

to begin with, this must be the most comfortable budgeted hotel rooms we ever stayed in. we booked the cheapest room (twin room without window) and to our suprise it is not another matchbox, the room is spacious, shower is great and the design was lovely. as this hotel had a cafe counterpart, while we did not ordered anything, the pricing looked decent. the staffs were really friendly and helpful as well! parking is not a hassle as there are ample parking spots available. the only downside to this hotel is that, it is a 5-10 min drive away from the city center, unless u plan to take a cab/ drive, it is not as convenient as the other budgeted hotel. however, we do like the quiet ambience (it is located just outside the city center afterall)

hotel is a bit of a misnomer for this wonderful gem in an unexpected location - in a suburban residental area. it feels more like a private holiday home that you've been invited to stay in while the owners are away. there is no formal check-in, you book and pay through agoda and upon arriving at the hotel, show them your receipt and you'll be handed your keys. there was only one person around, a smiley young guy who spoke little english so if you're hoping to get some local tips on places to eat/go/things to do, you best rely on google. wifi is free in all the rooms, connection is fairly fast and stable. we met the owner's wife the next morning, a lovely lady who tipped us off on where to go for dim sum and it turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. we also found out that she and her husband are furniture manufacturers (their factory is in bukit merah, she offered to take us there) which explains all the stunning, unique wooden furniture that decorates the place. would definitely stay here again on my next visit to ipoh and highly recommend it. note: rooms don't come with breakfast, you have to request and pay separately. we didn't, hence the 'poor' rating - because there is no 'na' button

Love the clever design of this boutique hotel. From the design of the facade to the doors right up to the rooms. Everything is provided in the room and the super clean bath n toilet with rain shower. The material use is like 5 stars luxury hotel. The toilet floor tiles is so classy looking. If thrown in super soft cotton towels this hotel will be the best in whole of Ipoh. Their cafe Cawanmu next door is very nice for enjoying breakfast. Although the breakfast spread is minimal but very adequate and of good quality. Bought their Coffee Swiss roll and its delicious! Their service staff is excellent. Everyone of them is so friendly. Thanks! Location is around 15-20 minutes drive to town but not a drawback when this hotel is really value for money for what they provide.

i have nothing to complain. Everything is value for money. Strategic location just across AOEN shopping mall, beautiful interior, comfortable beds, clean & new hotel (clean toilet is a plus point!) Kiblat sign for prayer is available in the room. However, there is no appropriate space for prayer (the only space available is just right beside the toilet). Perhaps the management can consider to prepare a prayer room (surau) in the hotel then i would give a full 5 marks for this hotel! will stay again. The best 2star hotel thus far.

Ok we read the past reviews and they were quite deterring, but we needed a place to stay on a last minute decision so the price was attractive enough. Considering the bad reviews, this place was actually not nearly as bad. Simple but clean room, splendid view of the limestone hills (if you get the front facing rooms) and friendly staff. Distance from Ipoh old town is to be considered if you do not have a car but a decent 8-10 minute drive if you do.
