I booked a 2-night stay for 3 people at the lowest rate of around 130,000 won. There are many affordable hotels in Jeju, but many places have a strong motel-like feeling. Shalom Hotel feels like it’s halfway between a motel and a hotel, but it’s really excellent for the price! Pros: - Good price! (For 3 people, it’s possible to book for about 60,000 won per night when it’s cheap) - Good location! It’s about a 10-minute drive from the airport and in the city area, so there are plenty of convenience stores and places to eat nearby. - Friendly staff! The hotel employees were very nice, and I used the facilities without any discomfort. - Good room condition! It feels a bit old, but the room itself is very clean and nice. The bathroom is neat, the water pressure is good, and there's a smart TV inside that supports OTT services. There’s a cafe and convenience store on the first floor, and the cafe has decent coffee. During happy hour in the morning, you can eat as cheaply as a budget cafe, and even outside happy hour, the prices are reasonable. Additionally, the room is spacious for this price and comes with a sofa and table, which is great! Breakfast is so-so! If you reserve in advance, it’s 15,000 won per person and isn’t bad! We had to catch an early flight on the last day, so we pre-ordered breakfast, and the Korean food was pretty decent. Cons: - No food delivery inside the hotel! They informed us that food consumption inside isn’t allowed; light snacks are okay, but formal dining with delivered food isn’t possible. Because of this, the refrigerator is very small and can only fit about six 500ml bottles of water. - No amenities & the hairdryer is not great! Nowadays, hotels in Jeju don't provide disposable amenities for environmental reasons, so I brought my own, so it wasn't too inconvenient, but the hairdryer had weak airflow and the one in our room wasn’t in good condition, which was somewhat disappointing. - Limited parking! The entrance and exit to the parking lot are very narrow, and while the parking structure has five underground floors, the parking spaces are limited relative to the size of the hotel, which might be challenging for novice drivers. If you want to park comfortably, I recommend doing so no later than 9:30 PM. Overall: For this price, this condition, and this location, there’s no reason not to book. Unless you're looking for an extremely luxurious hotel, I really recommend this place! The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, and I was satisfied! I stayed with my mom and sister, and we were very happy without any major inconveniences.
