lub d is a hip and modern hostel in the silom area of bangkok. its about a 5-8 minute walk to the center of silom's nightlife (soi 2 & 4, patpong). although it is located on a quiet off street there are many stores such as 7-eleven and restaurants located on the main street. the bts station is also about a 5-10 minute walk. the hostel itself is fun! it has that modern ...lub d is a hip and modern hostel in the silom area of bangkok. its about a 5-8 minute walk to the center of silom's nightlife (soi 2 & 4, patpong). although it is located on a quiet off street there are many stores such as 7-eleven and restaurants located on the main street. the bts station is also about a 5-10 minute walk. the hostel itself is fun! it has that modern concrete feel to it but filled with all the right features like maps and travel books, things to do in the area, a bar and pseudo restaurant, communal tables, sofas, outside tables and chairs, etc. it feels like a college dorm lobby with a hip and fun kick to it. the restrooms are big and clean and the showers are hot and amazing water pressure. theres washer/dryers/ironing station. the rooms are clean and there are personal closets that can be locked. bring your own lock & key because it is not provided. the staff is also fun who put on activities and events for the guests. while i was there they were having a dinner night in chinatown. the turn out was about 20 people and it ended up being a fun night with many of us ending up on khao san road. if you are looking for a true hostel experience, of sharing traveling stories and meeting fun people while staying in a clean hip hostel for 10 bucks a night, then this place is perfect!

And for a budget hostel, we are glad the heater is working even though Thailand can be so hot, a warm shower makes you feel refreshed! Moreover, it has air-conditioner and a wall-fan. The best part is the hostel is located 2 streets away from Sala Daeng skytrain & Silom BTS subway, which gives you access to almost all the shopping malls in the region and to the Erawan Shrine (4-faced Buddha). And how can we forget the nightlife if we've been in Bangkok?! 5-10mins walking distance to Patpong street, nightlife area. With all of these, we will be miserable without internet access because the first thing we do when we come back to or leave the hotel is to login to facebook! Take A Nap hostel is definitely worth your stay if you are looking for something slightly different but with all the necessary facilities that a normal hotel provide. I am a more than satisfied guest!

This is really a great place to stay in Bangkok. 2 blocks away from khao san, this place feels like it is right in the thick of things, while still maintaining a quiet, chill environment. many many solo travelers stay here so it's a great place to meet people- both in the dorms and in the common areas. Also, a/c is always on in the common areas so it's totally normal to relax in there or take a quick afternoon nap during non-a/c times. I only ever ate breakfast here, but it was always reasonably priced and big servings. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and make friends in Bangkok. I very highly recommend this place!

Lub d Bangkok Siam Square Hostel is a fun place filled with fun people, with a slogan "Everyone leave as a friend". We love Lub d! It is very clean, great location with MBK and siam nearby. There is a few chill out areas, a small bar, computers with internet for you to use, game areas, laundry for you to wash your clothings, theatre for you to watch DVD together. If you are a lady, do not worry, they have a area just for you all, a "NO MAN LAND" signboard outside lady dormitory. Staying in this Lub d hostel is way way better than staying in a any cheap hotel. If you are going Bangkok, give it a try staying there, i can guarantee it worth way more than what you pay!

We spent 1 night at Bansabai and found it to be exactly the hideaway from Bangkok that we were looking for. The staff were more than willing to see to our every need. The hotel makes an emphasis on environmental sustainability and offers a full range of recycling options. The local area is very nice, with several markets and shops nearby. They were more than willing to arrange transport for us to the train station the next morning. A must for any Eco-conscious traveller!

Hostel has perfect localization to rest each time before heading out for Bangkok experience. Really well communicated with public transportation made it really easy to move around the city - yet all hostel was extremely quiet. Perfect for non-party (or party outside ;) travellers. We always felt like they are trying to find a nice solution for our problems and always had plenty of sugestions: the best massage place near by (May Massage - the most "thai" i've been to so far in Thailand - extremely cheap and nice), fastest commuting route, what thai food should we try... And we also enjoyed simplistic, yet free breakfast (eating late was no problem at all!), free drinking water saved us from being dehydrated quite a lot of times, free thai fruits to try in common space (with instructions how to eat them ;), common computer (turned out to be handy a few times as we were travelling with smartphones only) are little details that just add on top. Highly recommend!

It's the ultimate Bangkok experience! Now that was just our first impressions of the common areas. Imagine how incredibly excited we were to see our loft room. From the super King bed, futon room, sun area, to rain shower everything was just so well curated! The room had an amusing theme of dinosaurs that was so graphically crafted. Showers were always so enjoyable--like going to a spa! It was the best deal in town! Breakfast was also another highlight. Omelette with fried potato, and pancake with watermelon, banana and pineapple, this was the best hostel breakfast I've ever had. As well as they took the time to highlight Thai best food offerings, Pad Thai noodle to Veggie Green curry. Refill Hostel is for the traveler who appreciates concept accommodations. This is more of a lifestyle hotel that looks and feels more than a typical hostel. The hostel was perfectly located for access to transports around Bangkok, thanks to skytrain and taxi-boat. The neighborhood was excellent. It was walking distance to amazing restaurants and breweries on Thonglor and Ekkamai. The staff was so incredibly welcoming and helpful - they absolutely make the place. The hostel itself has so much personality and truly reflects the Refill concept! I would highly recommend to both visitors and locals!

The building itself fits the character of the surrounding neighbourhood, but with plenty of its own twists. The building itself fits the character of the surrounding neighbourhood, but with plenty of its own twists. It's a 6 floor (sorry, no elevator) building with artwork done in a number of styles from various artists that have stayed there over the years. I happened to be around for the 9th anniversary party, so that should give you some idea of the array of art styles. Speaking of the party, this is where the double-edged sword sword comes in. In addition to being a guest house, Overstay prides itself as being an independent art and entertainment venue. They welcome any artist to come in and play at any time and host regular DJs and bands. This can last until late hours and will not be for everyone. There are dorm and private rooms, both of which I stayed in during my time there. Both types of rooms are fairly basic, but the mattresses have certainly improved since my first stay. Every morning, I met the regular cleaning ladies who come in, wash all the empty floors and bathrooms, and will give you a change of sheets or clean your room if you let them know. Or alternatively, ask a staff member to ask them. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here tremendously. The atmosphere and people who stay and work there are fantastic and many are long-term or repeat visitors. This makes information very accessible and a great environment to make new friends or travel buddies.

We had reservations for both our arrival and departure days in and out of Bangkok. On arrival, our Agoda booking was somehow lost, and they did not have a room available for us. We were quite happy with there service, and felt that they could not have handled it better in anyway. When we returned for our second stay, the booking was fine, and we checked in quite easily and quickly. The room was exactly what we expected...quite small, but clean. For a loner stay, it would be too small for us, but for a night or two, it's perfect. The a/c worked well, the beds were comfortable, and we slept quite well. We also enjoyed our dinner in the downstairs cafe. It's really just an adequate hostel. Nothing fancy or charming particularly, but delivers where it counts for travelers that just need a good nights sleep and a shower. The best thing is the location. We found it easy (by Asian standards) to get from the MRT to the hostel - Makes transit from the airport extremely convenient. And it is right by the train station. We were able to walk over the evening of our arrival and get our train tickets, then just popped over to the station in the morning. This is the main reason we would recommend it. It's the perfect location for transiting. We will be staying there again anytime we plan train travel in or out of Bangkok.

Wifi internet was working ok most of he time, one or two bars (out of 4 bars on android) connectivity in that room 5. Free luggage storage after check-out (not sure which time limit, as I ended up not using it. 6. Late check-out was possible for me at 23:00, later might be ok too. 7. Using the room for half a day for half price was NOT possible, which is to be expected. I asked because I had a flight at 02AM. I paid full price. 8. Check-in 14:00, check-out 12:00 9. Location is a little side alley on the left hand side of Soi 1. Ring the bell to be let in. 10. Shower curtains were clearly visibly moldy. The toilet bowl was not properly clean on the outside underside. 11. I don't think there is food in this hostel (stop requiring to rate this, agoda). There is a fridge in the lobby but I did not check content or prices. 7-11 is nearby. 12. No tv in room, no fridge in room. For comparison: Before I stayed at Bed Bangkok Hostel, I stayed a night at another hotel in Bangkok, which by comparison had a smelly double room (ac made it tolerable after a few minutes), broken shower water supply and an atmosphere that made me thonk "at least I'm not on the street". It was cheaper though.

The rooms themselves are very basic (even if you go for the double deluxe) if you are planning a 1-2 nights stay then its just perfect. Book shelf with plenty of books about Thailand The area: Okay you are in the heart of Sukhumvit (red-light district) there are plenty of normal bars, naughty bars if that's your thang, street food vendors, bars with food, massage parlours (professional & not-so professional) you can easily choose which, as the not-so will have lady boys outside trying to look sexy (not pulling it off very well) and grabbing your hand mister and saying 'massage' whilst holding you firmly...they are quite strong hahaa! Location: Down a dead end alley (Soi: side street) a few minutes walk from Nana BTS, (also close to Asoke to transfer to airport) and Phloen Chit, even though you are in a lively area the Hostel is quiet as it's tucked away from the loud bars, but is still a safe area, plenty of people always around. You are a few stops from Siam where the upscale shopping malls are, also MBK Center is there which has electronics and market stalls throughout and a food terrace. Airport: this is a good location for starting and finishing your travels if you are flying out of Bangkok international airport. Take the BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit line (light green) from Nana (one stop to Asoke) heading towards Bearing station change for the MRT line (light blue) you'll have to walk to Sukhumvit station, but it's literally on top of one another. From there take the train that heads to Bang Sue one stop to Phetchburi, change to the Makkasan station again a short walk. From there you can catch either the Airport Rail Link Express or City line (red or dark blue) to Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok) airport.

The rooms are quite tiny, but their biggest flaw is the complete lack of hooks and drying racks (wet towel, anybody?). To counterbalance that, our AC and in-room wifi worked wonderfully and the receptionist helped us gratuitously by retrieving our laundry while we were out of country and storing them for us for a month, no charge! He also let us hang out in the dining room all day after check-out and even shower, as we waited for our night flight! Sometimes, when their kitchen is open, they do very cheap and quite tasty Thai food! Cheapest order of soda in a restaurant known to man. Coming from Myanmar's backpacking places though, this place felt almost a little heaven, shortcomings and all. We've been traveling SE-Asia on a backpacker budget for 6 months. - Transportation tip: Bus 15 from Ratchadamnoen Road or Sam Sen Road (by Banglampu Market) links you to the National Stadium or Siam BTS for about 7 baht. Bus 15 also takes you directly to the malls at Siam (MBK, Central World etc.), the Lumpini Park and Red Cross Society (for cheap vaccinations) and the Silom Road (hindu temple Wat Kak + nearby embassies). Just do NOT travel during rush hour, as the traffic at the Democracy Monument can grind to a halt for more than an hour!

I was pretty nervous before arriving at here because it was the first time staying alone in hostel as well as finding amazing price among all accommodations. Of course it was quite difficult. I asked 5 taxi drivers to go to De Talak(at the nearest subway station), but all of them did not know where and what it is. Bangkok is the most terrible city that I have been in my life.(Dirty, smelly, and people only pursue money and try to cheat foreigners. MOST OF ALL, in the night market and shopping mall, they sell product printing RISING SUN FLAG which is used in World War 2 by Japan. How do you feel if somebody apparently sells Hakenkreuz or symbol of Nazism at anywhere? It really sucks) But only this hostel was the best. Staff is very kind and considerate. They provide(or try to help as much as they can) any sort of information whatever I want. All of roommates were hilarious and friendly. I hope to get to De Talak once more, Although I will not visit Bangkok any more.(how ridiculous, the best hostel in the worst city lol)

I stayed in a female dorm which was in the 5th floor which was very safe. You can take the elevator, key into the hallway, and the rooms are very secure. There are lockers for each bed. They did try to clean once in the two days I was there but there was a traveler who'd had a rough set of flights so she was sleeping a lot and they were kinda shy to come in. Very central to all of Bangkok and a 1-2 km walk ( or taxi) to most trains. I stayed here in my second and third nights in Bangkok and wish I had another day. Lumpini park is also >2.5 km away, nice for a run! I'd stay here again. If I'd known the train system was so easy, I would've come here right from the airport even though I got in late. Thanks!

The location is great, near to everything in Silom & a short walking distance to MRT & Skytrain. Whoever commented the place was dirty & horibble, that was probably before the renovation. I was sceptical at first when I booked for the place but chose to risk it because of the great price & location. But when I arrived, I was greeted by a sweet & friendly receptionist and the pleasant albeit small lobby. The room was clean & nice. Certainly more than good enough for me to sleep & take a rest for a while before I venture out the whole day to see the wonderful things in Bangkok. That's the whole point of visiting here right? Of course the hostel could do better, but for the price, I have no complain.

I had one night at the Pridi Hostel and was greeted via email with fantastic directions on getting there and plenty of assistance once I arrived. I was really happy with my stay at 1Yolo hostel. My bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked really well. The showers were good, and it was really nice that they provided shampoo and shower gel. The hostel even has laundry service available, which was really convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

It's nice being a 10 minute walk away from Khao San Road, far enough to avoid the noise but close enough to stagger back after some drinks. The guys who work there are super helpful with finding things to do and best ways to get around. The girls who work there aren't really people persons, but they're alright. It wasn't a 5 star breakfast but it was nice to have food in the lobby from 7-10 when you wake up and want something small before heading out. Another nice thing, they have a washer and dryer you can use, 20 baht to wash (10 extra if you need soap from the front counter) and 30 baht to dry. Dryer was alright, clothes were still damp but I just hung them up and they were fine by the morning. I probably wouldn't stay there again, not becuase of the service or the hostel, I'd just like to see a different part of the city. Being by KSR for almost a week is enough tourist action to last a few years. I most definitely recommend this hostel to anyone going to Bangkok on a budget looking for somewhere comfortable in a fun part of town. Grand Palace and Wat Pho are a short ~25 minute walk away!

The hotel is located right by the Hindu temple Sri Maha Mariamman so always quite busy around the area and easy to find. The rooms are basic clean and look good as well, the room we had didn't have a window but this wasn't an issue for us. The shared bathroom was large and so no issues with waiting for others, the staff were friendly and helpful, there is also an equipped kitchen and a laundry if needed. We were at the mile map during the New Years holiday so when we were there was a lot of businesses closed but there were still good cheap places to eat across the main road in the street opposite. Overall a nice well styled hostel which is clean and tidy with helpful staff. After we left this hostel we discovered that we had left my sons Teddy at the hostel, so we contacted the Mile map and they kindly shipped it on for us, which we were extremely great full for!

We planed on staying for 2 nights but ended up spending almost 2 weeks for several reasons. One reason is Annie who owns the hostel. She's one of the kindest persons we've met so far! She was never tired answering any of our questions (e.g. about thai culture, how to go there and there etc.) which is extremly helpful if you're new to Bangkok and/or Thailand. Not only she can make you save a lot of money (for example when Annie helped us getting around town the cheapest way possible) but it is also very comforting to have someone like her if you feel lost in thai culture. Accomodation: During our 8 day stay at Chan Cha la 99 we've been to 3 different types of rooms. The first one, situated in the 3rd floor was a two bunk private bed room. The beds were comfy and easily large enough for one person to sleep in. The bunk bed might squeak a little but it's absolutely reasonable. Per person you will have one towel for showering and one blanket for sleeping along with 2 pillows. There are 4 lockable boxes for your valuable items large enough for a laptop tough we didn't really use them. Aircondition in all room worked very good, tough it took us some nights figuring out when to best turn on/off A/C at night. Inside the two bunk bed rooms there were approximately 2 sockets per bed (suitable for german electronic devices). The second room was a comfy & spacious 1 double bed room on 2nd floor with small balcony and A/C. Depending on current mosquito population maybe buy some repellants, which Annie will gladly help you with. The last room was a private 2 bunk bed type room again, only without windows this time but just as comfortable, tough darker than the other one with windows.

The guests who come to stay here are young decent travellers who know how to behave and respect others. Hotel has electroninc key system at the entrence, entrance which leads to the rooms after recreation area and entrance of your room. Basically 3 times you have to use your electrinic key device to excess to your room and CCTV cameras are in every floor. I believe its a great safety measures taken by the hostel management. Toilets and shower rooms clean and well kept always. The cubes /boxes you stay is very comfortably designed with privacy. Ambience inside the box is cozy and great which i liked very much.Daily changing the linens and towels. Location is great if you love shopping, food (local street food, restaurants, fast food restaurants, food trucks). Very lively place where you see the Bangkok culture and people from every corner of the world are there. Its great place for families to visit with children. Staffs are very helpful , polite especially the guy at night shift.

Had two free Nescafe mixes, which is a nice touch for someone who likes to have coffee right when they wake up (though electric kettles in the rooms would be a good touch asw had to go search out the hot water). Conclusion: The location is good. The price is alright. Not sure why it is called a "Boutique" hostel. They were working on some of the rooms while we were there which took away from the atmosphere outside the rooms. But I would stay there again.

We were lucky to come across this lovely hostel, conveniently located close to the BTS line. The interior of the hostel was clean and modern, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Food wise, the hostel was very relaxed about people bringing in outside food. There were bowls, plates and cutlery to use and plenty of table space to wine and dine on. Additionally, there are reasonably priced laundry services available and wifi is also very fast throughout the entire hostel. If you're ever hungry and looking for a cheap and nearby place to eat, look no further than Jai's restaurant across the road. You can get a hearty plate of food from 35 baht and upwards, and Jai used to work in a 5 star hotel in the city. Bargain.

The only thing that I quite shock is has no elevator, so I feel like wanna die when I bring out 2 big luggages and 2 handcarry bags from 3rd floor by stairs :'( And I think this hostel is refer to female guest only, because I dont see any male there, but you can ask for details to the staffs for sure

It was a little difficult to find- if you're in a taxi, it's right before the King's overpass on the left side, 200m from the bridge. Once we got inside it was a peaceful oasis. Nun and her staff were so kind and attentive and really helped us navigate all areas of Bangk...We had a fantastic stay at this hostel (every other place we stayed on our trip we compared to it!) It was a little difficult to find- if you're in a taxi, it's right before the King's overpass on the left side, 200m from the bridge. Once we got inside it was a peaceful oasis. Nun and her staff were so kind and attentive and really helped us navigate all areas of Bangkok- she even helped us buy our bus tickets. The peaceful atmosphere extends to the rooms, which are designed in an IKEA meets modern, environmentally conscious way- and can't forget all of the cute cat accents. It really feels like you are staying with friends when you are here. And the ferry service at the pier is the best way to get around Bangkok, especially if you want to go to the Grand Palace. At night the area outside comes alive with some of the most delicious street food. We will definitely stay here again!!

I was only here for half a day, arriving early morning and checking out the same evening, so I had to ask for an early check in. Although the beds were full the night before, and they couldn't let me have a bed earlier than midday, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. It's amazing to find a hostel in the middle of Bangkok, near Sukhumvit no less, with large green gardens. From the start, nothing is average about this hostel. From the creative shipping container design to the gardens to the room layouts. We were concerned that a 7m2 room would be too small but it was really quite roomy. If you are Indonesian, don't worry, because one of their staff is from Indonesia, Firman, he will help you. By the way, we met a woman on our last day. She help us brought our luggages to car. She said she is owner Queen's Curry, restaurant closed to Glur Bangkok Hostel. Please say hi to her from us and we will try her restaurant for next trip.

This place is perfect for independent traveler who knows their way around Bangkok and is comfortable in a Thai neighborhood. These are like service apartments - the staff was friendly but they spoke very little english and basically you can come and go without much interaction - most of the guests we saw were alsoThai. Otherwise theres not any retail or restaurants at the mrt stop - and no tourist services also be aware that the last train going to this stop from the city is approx 11:40 or earlier depending on where you are- we didn't know this so we ended up having to catch taxis to get back - recommend to get directions in Thai if you plan to be out late.

I have been staying at 499 for over three years. My return this November for more Dental work saw me coming home to Rosebud. The little lady cleaner always makes me feel welcome and when she shouts at me in Thai thinking this will make communication better I actually understand her.
