A Charmer of a Luxury Boutique hotel housed in a historic colonial building. Felt like staying within a piece of history! LOCATION: Fantastic location in the heart of the old town and surrounded by historic colonial buildings DINE + DRINK: Charming Colonial era bar in the lobby level and a very good spread of local and international food at the sweet Breakfast restaurant by the courtyard ROOM: We stayed in Room 4008, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Lateral view of heritage buildings and the street; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good spa quality cosmetics FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines. Breakfast was ok. After not arriving to the hotel until after 1am on our first night, we didn't get to Breakfast until 9:55am (closes at 10:30). There was no bacon left and when I brought that to thier attention, no new bacon showed up before breakfast ended.
The hotel has some amazing history and has been lovingly updated in a tasteful way. All amenities are thoroughly modern. The staff went out of their way. Here’s:a one example: when we arrived there was street construction making getting to the hotel difficult. We parked 4 blocks away, but they went to the parking garage and brought our car to their locked and guarded lot! Dinner was also excellent, though we got the impression our server was new and could use some more experience. The hotel is also excellently located near the old district. If you are going to Santo Domingo, put this hotel on the top of your list.

“Beautiful hotel”
I really enjoyed this beautiful place! The only minus is that the food was below my expectations and it takes an hours to get anything done. The pool area could be improved: there are never beaches towels and we had to wait 24h to get some only the next day… despite regular rain showers during the days, the staff doesn’t care to open the umbrellas which would protect the lounge chairs to being wet! A part from that people are smiling and nice, and my room and bed was very comfortable. The area is safe for women solo traveller
