Downtown Jeju hotels & places to stay

The Hotel is very nice with a very good location as well. I actually booked a room with a seaview on the upper floor, but as I checked in near the evening (after I finished my day tour), I was informed that the room with direct seaview in the upper floor is fully occupied, the reception staffs then give me a room with a side view of the sea and free vouchers for breakfast in the next morning as complimentary. Anyway, as I was only staying for one night, so I'm just okay with the deals. The Breakfast was really nice. The Hotel's location is superb, across the hotel was kinda a court with seaview, around the hotel there's lots of eateries from seafood to the famous black pork. Shopping street and Local Markets are just few mins walk. I'm likely to book this hotel again on my next visit to jeju. Notes : It's just I think since I already booked the hotel with advanced payment, I think whether or not I arrived late, there's should be at least a room based on my request been ready for the day because I had paid for it.

The Howard Johnson was perfect for our trip to Jeju Island. Many reviews say to stay in Seogwipo-si if you’re on the island for multiple days but we opted to stay in Jeju-si for 4 days and 3 nights. The Howard Johnson is incredibly close to the airport and easy to get to via bus (download the Kakao app to get up-to-date bus information, Korea’s google maps essentially). The HJ is located in the new downtown area with many restaurants and the Lotte duty free mall within walking distance. The old downtown with Dongmun market is a short bus ride away. We took a day trip to Seogwipo, saw the main sites. While Seogwipo was beautiful, we found much more things to do in Jeju around the HJ. In terms of facilities, it is a newer hotel so everything looks new. The bed was comfortable and you can control your own AC. The TV was also a sleek newer LED LG TV. The hotel doesn’t have a gym or a pool, however, so plan for that. All around, great value and would stay again.

Wanted to stay at a quieter place away from Jeju city, but not too far away from the airport either. This is a new hotel, so gave it a try. Booked a deluxe room (double + single beds) with sea views. Room was located at a higher floor. It was spacious and the amenities were very new. Location wise, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel that goes to the city. However we didn't use it. Took a taxi whenever we wanted to go to the city, cost around SGD8-10 per trip. Most of the reception staff understood and spoke minimal English (only met 1 or 2 whom could speak really well). However, it would help if you could try to speak slower and do some research beforehand on the places that you wanted to visit. Despite the language barrier, they were still very helpful towards understanding my requests and helped to act as a translator between the taxi driver and us. Buffet breakfast at the hotel was an optional add-on. Quite expensive though the food quality was not bad. Limited dining options around the hotel. There is a fast food chain outlet (Lotteria) around 8mins walk away from the hotel. A fried chicken chain outlet (Nene chicken) just beside the hotel. A few convenience stores also located within walking distance from the hotel.

I have booked a 2 bedroom suite in Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel, which is spacious enough to fit in 4/5adults. The room has a great ocean view! Quiet but yet accessible to many places of interests, alot of restaurants are nearby as well, be it local seafood, grilled meat, stew & rice and so on. There is also a great bakery just behind the hotel called 'A Factory', a great start for the day and a great end for the day as well, if you are sicked with local food, try the western food on the 2nd floor of the bakery. Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel also provide a free secured carpark lot for its hotel guest. Therefore, for tourists who rent their own cars to travel around Jeju island, this will not be a worry at no additionl cost as well.

Staff very helpful, they will call up tour agencies and taxi services on your behalf to book for you. Location is brilliant. Food & shopping all within walking distance. The Catholic Cathedral is just behind the hotel about 5 mins walk. Jeju Folk museum and shrine 20 mins walk. Jeju pier 15 mins walk. Dongnum Market 15 mins walk. Jeju National Museum and Songnam Peak 30 mins walk. Yongduan rock 20 mins walk. The YEHA tour and other tours pick up and drop off in front of the hotel. We spent 7 nights here and loved it.

The clean hotel is of proximity to Jeju airport, Mon Dieu Hotel, Dongmun Night Market, Yongduan Rock, the coastal road of Jeju, all within 15 minutes of a taxi ride. Within 5 to 10 minutes of walk up the slope from behind the hotel, one can see the peak of Mt Hallia, South Korea's highest mountain. The staff are friendly, helpful and they speak English and Mandarin. The hotel restaurant is small and breakfast comes in ration buffet. Lone diners are separated from the rest. I will stay here again if I come to Jeju due to complimentary bus transfer to Jeju airport. Notes : If one arrives at the airport, travel to the hotel by Jumbo Taxi from the airport costs 10000 Korean Won because the normal taxi queue is longer beyond imagination. Do not bother about airport pick-up as this has to be pre-arranged, and not regular, before arrival and if one anticipates flight delay to Jeju from Beijing or Gimpo.

It feels really good staying in Shilla Stay Jeju. Hotel itself is very classy and the rooms are comfortable. The staff there is quite friendly but their profound of English is not strong, so there are a number of times they do not understand what we are actually enquiring. But overall experience was awesome. I will definitely stay here again if i were to visit Jeju the next time.

Hotel room interior is all new and clean. Interior design is classy. Facilities are good with nice shower, with water pressure is strong. Appreciate the amenity provided, Nice shower gel and shampoo smell. Room with balcony, and you can sit at the balcony enjoying the scenery. Location is good and recommended. Within walking distance to Black Port Street and Jeju Dongmun Market. Just our from the hotel, along the street is the sashimi street where you can find all the sashimi restaurant. Thus, no problem to hunt for food. Across the hotel is 7-11 and McDonalds is nearby too. Located by the sea and harbour, so you can get a good view of harbour and seaview. Once out from hotel, there is a big walkway along the sea coastline, thus definitely a good spot for sea lover. Staff is friendly and English speaking. No problem in communication. Overall, this hotel is recommended and worth the money for comfortable stay in Jeju Downtown.

Pros: The hotel is located strategically near the shopping street of downtown Jeju. Loads of good restaurants around serving good food. The hotel manager is very helpful when we ask him for directions for restaurants nearby. He even walk out to make sure tt we did not walk the wrong direction. Cons: However, the counter staffs are not that helpful. For instance, we asked the hotel for assistance to book a cab to get to airport the following morning as we are afraid that it might be difficult to get a cab during the morning rush hour, but the hotel staff refused and asked us to go to the front to flag for a cab instead. In addition, the cleanliness of the hotel room needs to be improved as well. We book the room w jacczi, we reckoned that the jaccuzi may hv been left unused for some time. As a result when we turn on the motor, there were a lot of dirt and small insect flying out. Yucks!!! Other part of the room still consider clean.

It was great time staying at Ambel Hotel. The location is what I like most, Amber Hotel is located in the centre of Jeju-city, and is very close to the airport. Duty free shop, downtown and attractions are all in walking distance. Staff's English was not so perfect, but enough to communicate. Room condition was quite satisfying, everything was well-prepared and neat. I will stay again.

Initially, it was really hard for us to find the hotel, probably because we also arrived at night. However, after walking around for an hour, we managed to find the hotel located near to a 7-11 store. The hotel seems to be very new and many of the locals [not sure if all are] do not know which hotel we were referring to when we asked them. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we felt really relieved as it wasn’t that hard to locate after all. Just remember, it is around a 5 mins walk from Macdonalds, which you will see an IVY hotel and just turn in when you see a 7-11 store in the vicinity. There was only one 7-11 store located along the street, so you shouldn’t be able to miss it. The hotel room was much bigger than we thought. Basic toiletries were provided. There was also a mini bar and cable TV. The breakfast was simple and good enough for us, considering the cost we paid for staying in the hotel. Also checked with the staff [all can speak good English] and was told that their counter is open for 24 hours. If you need to go the airport, you can just go down to the counter anytime and they can help you call a taxi, in which the taxi company also operates 24 hours. Getting to the airport from the hotel via taxi in the morning only took us around 15 mins. If you are taking a domestic flight, you just need to be at the airport at least 1 hour before departure. If you would like to shop, you can just walk down the street around 5 to 10 mins and you will see many shops in the vicinity. There are also many local restaurants and convenience stores in the vicinity. Generally, we felt very safe walking around Jeju, including at night. Only downside is that it can get really cold and windy [maybe not for summer]. Hence you might want to bring a jacket with you just in case. Good hotel to stay if you are on a budget and looking for somewhere convenient to stay in Jeju.

We stayed as couple for (4) Days at Best Western Jeju Hotel recently in June 2017. The Staff are helpful, they guide you where you want to go. You also can rent car at hotel.The location is superb. Just a 5-10 min walking distance, there is a Lotte Mart and E mart. Starbucks Coffee Shop is at the Lobby of the Hotel. The Street Food Lane is just behind the hotel. The Convenience Store GS25 is just beside the Hotel.

Convenient to a few attractions and downtown on walking distance. However, we may need more days to stay in order to discover other attractions on Jeju si side. There are half an hour interval flights from Jeju to Gimpo airport, we don't have to book the ticket for our flights in advance, so we just enjoy as long as we want at the places we went to and go to the airport when we are ready. The hotel is very close to Jeju airport. Staff speak English and very professional and helpful with a smile. A good place to enjoy relaxation and time off from my work. Foods and coffee are nice too.

The cleanliness was top notch, the bathroom was amazing with rainshower and huge bathtub. The interior was beautiful. The location was also very convenient, there are convenient stores nearby and places to eat that are still open even after 11PM. The staff are very helpful especially with the car jockey service. Amazing for the price. I will definitely stay here again if I come to Jeju again.

Take taxi is about KRW 5000-6000 . iv) Jeju Bus Terminal Interchange Can reach there with any buses in front of the hotel within 15 minutes. v) Baojian Street 15 minutes walk to Baojian Street. 2.Staff Friendly and helpful English and simple Chinese speaking staff . 3. Hairdryer, body and face towel and toiletries are provided. 4. Nearby shopping mall such Shilla Duty Free Shop and Lotte Duty free shop. The room is new and clean...

The hotel is situated in a good location, a lot of eating places in walking distance & shopping too. The hotel room was very clean & met all the basic needs for all 4 of us. Staff can converse in English & Mandarin, was helpful when we ask for direction. It was our first time in Jeju so I can't vouch to say it's the best location to be in, but I definitely will choose Skypark Jeju 1 hotel again on my next visit.

This hotel is located minutes from the airport and about 10-15minutes from Jeju town itself. I can't say much about the public transport in the area as I rented a car for the duration of this trip. For those who are intending to rent a car, this hotel provides parking in a parking complex across the road from the hotel itself. There are convenience stores nearby and a few restaurants within the vicinity. I would highly recommend this hotel if you have short listed it as one of your hotel choices.

Everything was wonderful, the view itself is fantastic. Staff are very friendly though sometimes theyare having hard time understanding me because of the language barrier, BUT they will help you in anything you need with a smile on their faces. I wish I could have stayed more. Location wise : near in the airport, cafes and restaurants Room: the size is just okay if you are 1-2 person, but the view is definitely mesmerizing Best stay ever, nothing to compare

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. We requested for a room with a sea view and free parking for our rental car. Both requests were met by the hotel. We got the best view in on the 8th floor and can stare out toward the northern coast of Jeju. The hotel was perfectly located near convenience stores and various restaurants, including a street specializing in black pork and another in seafood closer to the sea. Being in near the heart of the city means that shopping is also very close by. The hotel itself had a rather indie/boutique vibe in its design. The staff are amazing at answering your questions and they know a lot about the island. They helped us locate restaurants to dine at and where to buy Jeju specialties. Highly recommended!
