Review summary

The hotel's excellent location near Asakusa Temple, Rox, Tokyo Skytree Tower and the subway station was highly praised by guests. Reviewers also complimented the friendly and helpful staff, varied breakfast options featuring Japanese small dishes, and late-night noodle selection. The rooms were well-equipped, clean, and organized, providing a comfortable stay. The rooftop onsen provided a beautiful view of the river and Tokyo Skytree Tower, making it a highlight of the stay.

Limited hours for female guests to use the hot spring was a minor downside mentioned by some guests.

    “Relaxing/Quiet”

Wonderful stay. I stayed in the room with a balcony, view of Tokyo Skytree and the canal, absolutely worth it. There's also a public bath, limited hours for women so check in advance. With a foot bath outdoors and one of the baths and seating outdoors as well with a wonderful view of the Tokyo Skytree. The room was incredibly spacious and absolutely comfortable. They also offer complimentary ramen in the evening. I thought the breakfast was included but it wasn't, that was a downside. Its centrally located, like a block or two from the train station. A walk from Sensoji temple and the entire area has so much to do in terms of shopping, eating, sight seeing. I would definitely stay here again.

    “Affordable quality in Asakusa ”

We arrived at Dormy Inn Asakusa after 24 hours of plane travel. Exhausted, we were grateful for a clean well resourced room only a few short minutes walk from Asakusa Station. The hotel is close to a number of attractions, and riverside rooms offer a lovely view of the Sumida River as well as Tokyo Sky Tree and the Asahi Flame D'or. The room was small but comfortable with good amenities and the free dessert was EXCELLENT. The man at reception gave us lovely guidance to eating spots and even though we booked a semi-double, we managed as a couple. We will be staying again in future (though in a double!). The free night time ramen is also excellent and a lovely way to end the day.

    “Great value in Asakusa”

ROOM: We stayed in a queen bedroom; there was a couch, desk and ample space for our things. I loved the balcony, the view was incredible even though it was obscured by scaffolding during our stay in May 2025. The bed was really comfortable although you may want to ask for extra pillows. There was no noise other than the sounds of the occasional train crossing the bridge, this did not bother us. BREAKFAST: Mostly repeat dishes day-to-day but good quality and tasty. We had it 4/5 days as we had to leave the hotel early one of the days for an excursion. AMENITIES: We didn't end up using the rooftop bath mainly because it's either male or female at any given time so there is no way to go together. We did spend a bit of time at the foot bath and massage chair. They have free ice creams as well for when you're done at the bath, nice touch! LOCATION: Great! Across the street from the train station and walking distance to the Asakusa market/Kamearimon and Sky Tree, with lots of food options around. It's very nice to be right on the river! Overall, a solid value and we would consider staying here again.

“Breakfast is wonderful! The sauna is wonderful too!”

This is my first time using it. I have used Dormy Inn in Kanda, Okachimachi, and Hatchobori, and I love the wonderfulness of this place. This time, the access from Asakusa Station is outstandingly close!! I happened to find a double room for a cheap price, and I was able to relax comfortably. The night soba, available from 21:30, is half-ramen but with a light soy sauce flavor, which is nice. The toppings were significantly fewer than in the picture, which was a bit disappointing 😢 I was surprised when the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night...because of that, I couldn't sleep much...crying. One more disappointing thing is the bath. Women cannot use it on weekdays and have to go to a nearby affiliated inn. I thought if I were staying with my partner, we would have to go there together, which was a bit disappointing...I thought it might be tough with the space limitations. Also, depending on the inn, the concept of the sauna varies, which is one of the good points of Dormy Inn, but the temperature of the cold bath here was about 30°C, and it wasn’t refreshing at all. The post-bath ice cream (Yakult in the morning) is a nice service ☺️ The view of the Sky Tree and the golden poop of Asahi from the outdoor relaxation space is soothing... I properly took a morning bath and sauna, and by 7 o'clock, I went for breakfast. The breakfast I was looking forward to was excellent. Each inn has its own "selling point," and this one was "unagi rice"! I had the unagi rice and, since I wanted to eat natto rice as well, I asked for a second helping. I picked a lot of small side dishes and was able to enjoy almost all of them. It was packed with nutrients from the morning and very satisfying, making for a really happy day. I would like to stay again.

“Ok and v friendly but odd onsen times”

Clean basic hotel, large fridge and freezer and a microwave in room, free laundry, friendly staff, complimentary bowl of noodles in evening as in all dormy. No reading light (though you can request) so room light is white and harsh on ceiling. Odd bathtimes in Onsen on roof. Most days are only for men (!) and women on a few days can use it from 3-8pm which is when most of us visiting Tokyo are still out and about. So never got to use it. Other Dormys have separate man/ woman baths. Not sure why the times are so biased towards men in this one. Overall a good hotel but with other Dormys available would probably pick another. Dormy Express is the budget Dormy option. Staff super kind and location is very good- close to subway, supermarkets, cultural points of interest etc.
