Great location, close to attractions and plenty of dining options nearby including both Chinese and Western cuisine. The hotel has its own parking lot, although spaces are limited, there are also paid parking spots nearby which are not too expensive. The staff are very friendly and polite, and are able to solve problems with enthusiasm. The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities, everything is very satisfactory.

There are many good hotels around the world, but only a few are exceptional, and D Eastern Ipoh is one of those few. The hotel is perfectly located on the main road of Ipoh city center, close to Ipoh station. the rooms were spacious and clean, the service was very good. The workers at this hotel were very attentive and helpful. Even though this hotel is only two stars, the staff works like a 5 star hotel. We believe, this is all because the management does its job well and treats its workers well, which is reflected in the PERFECT quality of service. We were very satisfied staying at this hotel for 2 nights. To all staff of D Eastern Hotel Ipoh, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for the perfect service.
Acceptable stay but could do with some upgrading ”
Generally ok for Ipoh but some upgrades or maintenance might be warranted. The bathroom may need some work as the sink was slightly clogged and the hairdryer fixture was coming loose. The room is large and relatively clean but hope that the hotel will do some upgrading as the rooms are quite dated. More hanging hooks would be good. Location is the best thing as it’s right in the heart of town
Amazing staff ”
When I and my wife stepped into the hotel we were greeted by a courteous and helpful staff at Reception. On our way to our room, we met the cleaning lady who is full of smiles and offered to give us more coffee and bottle water. When we entered our room, we were impressed by the room's high ceiling and size. We didn't expect a standard room after fitting in a queen bed, 2 bedside cupboards, a working desk, 2 crouches and a coffee table, and a cupboard for luggage, a good size toilet & bath, still has so much space to move around. The room is impeccably clean with neutral decor. We felt relaxed immediately. After we settled down, we went online to book train seats to go back.to KL 2 days later to catch a plane to Langkawi but found all seats are gone. We went to reception to seek for help.see if there was other means to travel back to KL. Devi, the receptionist on duty, did the search and found out we can take a bus back to KL. Not only that, Devi offered to help us booked the seats. She is a real angel that God sent to help us. Even the hotel appears a bit old, but its customer service is exceptional. Its location is good, the room is spacious and comfortable. If I come to Ipoh again, D Eastern Hotel will be my.xhoice without any hesitation.

The rooms are large and clean and beds are comfortable with fresh linens. Toiletries like toothbrush are provided and presented in a nice packaging (normally most smaller hotel in malaysia don't provide it). The location is great.. Within walking distance to all the key eating and shopping places. The best part of the hotel must surely be the excellent services provided by the friendly staff. The air con in my room was not working properly and they were quick to get a another room for me.
