It has been a great experience for all of us. We arrived as a group of 8 and even though we arrived ahead of check-in time we were directly moved to our booked room and offered an upgrade but decided to not take it because we were happy with our room already. There are several pools, at least one with salt water straight from the ocean and the others are sweet water pools. The hotel gives access to a beach area but the water is very shallow during the day. So, it's ideal for kids or a quick dip but not really for proper swimming. The hotel has its own restaurant with reasonable prices and portions and it tastes very good (I recommend the homemade fries!). Our room was clean and can be cleaned daily or on request if there is a more urgent matter. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. They have free Wifi that is quite decent on some parts of the property. If you want to experience a bit more action, you can pay for a 2 hour boat trip to another beach and coral riff to swim and snorkel or rent a jetski or go on a banana boat ride. But in general it is very quiet and relaxed in the resort and at the beach. Some negative points were that neither in the restaurant nor at the reception they accepted credit cards, so make sure to bring enough cash! (For the next ATM you need to drive a bit away from the Hotel) Also the beach area does not really get cleaned up so there is quite some trash on a few spots but mostly it's nice! Another point is that the staff clearly does not have the amount of stray dogs and cats under control that constantly run around on the property, bother you while eating, drink out of the pools and even poop on the grass. One of us stepped into poop straightaway upon arrival. We live on the Philippines and are used to stray dogs and cats and their behavior but it might be disturbing to foreign tourists.
