Fantastic villa in Unawatuna. We selected the room with plunge pool. Unfortunately the AC didn't work ( Good lesson to hotels to check ACs before handover rooms to guests) and we had to switch to the other room which having the direct access to the main pool (Both rooms are in Ground floor). It was not bad either. The best place is the rooftop restaurant. Amazing views and you can spend hours. It's a peaceful, nice villa situated in a vantage position. Breakfast service was not good as we got food dish by dish in a very random manner. So had to wait for almost 2 hours to finish the breakfast. Anyway 5 star rating as overall experience is amazing!

I was with my son (16 years) and truly enjoyed this vacation specially Calamander Unawatuna Beach Hotel. From the time we arrived we were wellcomed in a hospitable way until we departed. All the staffs were professional specially Mr. Asela(fom) the manager who was personally attended to our requirements and comfort and he is truly a proffesional manager and a big plus to this Hotel. Thank you also to the owner who i am sorry i did not have the previlage to know her name but i see her everyday day watching and supervising. I recommend this Hotel very much as it is simply the best Hotel in Unawatuna.

I don't imagine the stay being much better. Nice pools, big room with a small hot tub in the bath room (we booked super deluxe, I believe?), good location, and good food too. I'd like to point out that the restaurant appears overpriced at first, but the price is for a course on most meals (soup + dessert included). In light of that and the generally high prices in Unawatuna, not bad. As other reviews mention, wifi won't reach your room. I got a Sri Lankan sim and hotspotted my phone. Only like $10 for a sim and 10GB data. A worthwhile investment if internet is essential to your life (as it is to mine)

My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights in a pool Pavillion room and we had the most incredible stay. The hotel was lovely and in a great setting next to the sea and only a short walk to the gorgeous beach! The rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated. The pool area was great and so relaxing! The food was fab, breakfast was very good and we ate dinner here twice and had the most incredible sea food! Finally the staff were amazing, incredibly friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble to arrange. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking at hotels in unawatuna. This hotel will not disappoint!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We booked this hotel for five days at the beginning of the New Year on the strength of the positive reviews about the pool and we were not disappointed. The pool and surrounding grounds were great with the pool being sufficiently large enough to enable lane swimming. I asked for a room with a view of the pool as the location was quieter but was also offered a room with a sea view. We took a sea view room despite the traffic noise because the views and sunsets were spectacular. We found the hotel staff to be helpful and friendly and the food in the dining room was perfectly adequate with generous portions that were much cheaper than meals from sea front restaurants along Unawatuna Beach. As for the beach across from the road; it was cleaner and provided better snorkeling than Unawatuna Beach and the hotel also supplied sun beds. A wine shop was nearby with a great little café next to it. For joggers, we found a great route up into the hills. WiFi however could have been better.

Cantaloupe Levels provides you with more than what you'd expect. First and foremost, the view is phenomenal. The hotel overlooks the Unawatuna Bay, providing you spectacular insight to the stunning beach landscape of the South. The view; both invites you to go down to the beach and bathe in its warm waters yet eludes you, so you'd rather watch its beauty from a distance. Another unique factor at Levels is it's tranquility; even though its location is prime property, it is the only hotel there and it is surrounded by beautiful lush greenery for miles. Thus enhancing your experience with a mix of adventure and serenity. The suites are grand and extend luxurious comfort; soft feather pillows, ultra-soothing mattress, Egyptian cotton linen, fresh simplistic bathroom with jacuzzi jets and rain-shower, his and her sinks. And the list of amenities are endless. The staff are friendly, pleasant and most importantly, obliging. The private concierge went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of (kudos Nuwan). Love the tri-colour pool. The breakfast menu is delectable with Continental, American and Sri Lankan options to select from, unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to have lunch or dinner there. All in all, great experience, beautiful hotel. Hats off Cantaloupe&Co on its creativity and class!!

The Gloria Grand Unawatuna hotel is everything its name implies. One often wonders about he accuracy of the hotel "blurb". But the guest reports usually give a more accurate assessment. I found no fault with the Gloria Grand, nor with the warm and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble My package deal was superb ... full breakfast, AC, free WiFi, clean room. The Gloria Grand is a "home away from home" and in a land known for its gems, the Gloria Grand is a true SRI LANKAN GEM!

Really decent hotel. Would highly recommend. The rooms are very clean and spacious, some rooms even have jacuzzi. The view is just amazing:you can swim in the pool and watching the waves breaking on the huge rocks. If you want to swim - main Unawatuna beach is just few minutes walking distance. The breakfasts and food from menu a la carte were delicious. Try their pizza - awesome (which is rare on Sri Lanka). Though its not that cheap but it worth it. I found this place comfortable for anyone: couples can enjoy romantic view, dinner and jacuzzi and spa; families with kids can use kids playing room and swimming pool, which has space for kids also; group of friends can chill out in sport bar watching sports on big screen, playing billiard, darts or fuzball. Would definitely like to come here again.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 2 in January 2018. On arrival we were able to check in early and got immediate access to our bungalow. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. It had everything we needed (plugs, fridge, mosquito net, seating area , guide book and even had a beach bag!). Andree was there to welcome us and gave us lots of great advice about various local trips and places to eat and drink. The staff were all super helpful and friendly the whole trip. The breakfast is out of this world - huge fruit platter, tea/coffee, delicious omelette and bread and jam (the best from our time in Sri Lanka). The beach outside is very clean and almost deserted all day long (whereas other beaches in the area can be busier). You can sit and watch turtles coming in very close to feed on the reeds in the water and the sunsets are lovely. Its a quick trip to Unawatuna for dinner or drinks and onlya bout 15/20 mins to Galle which was a great experience. Amazing stay!

Pedlars manor is beautifully designed and feels like home. The staff and manager bnd over backwards to make your stay as comfortable as can be. The owners dripped in for breakfast just to make sure our stay was perfect, and we slept and ate so well we didnt want to leave. With 4 bedrooms its calm quiet and has plenty of space for private time. The pool and gardens are stunning. When we return to Sri Lanka we will certainly return to this stunning villa. If you like beautiful surroundings in a stunning environment away from noise this is your place

We really enjoyed and recommend the Dunes Unawatuna hotel. The Sri Lankan owner spent a number of years living in Australia and has made sure this newly built hotel has good Western standards - quite a difference to other places we've stayed in Sri Lanka. The staff were friendly and attentive, we enjoyed the food, and the beach is great for swimming, running, and a range of good restaurants with tables on the beach.

The gardener really takes good care of the pool and the beach. It's very clean. He asked us to visit KK again in Nov / Dec time when the beach is suitable for swimming. Breakfast is very good. Staff is well trained. My gf and I were sick during our stay. The manager immediately invited doctor (Dr. Silva) to visit us. There's always tuk tuk outside KK (2 Sri Lanka brothers who stay near KK and they ended up driving us to Yala and Ella). It's roughly 15 -20 mins to Galle Fort) and 45-50 mins to Marissa Beach by tuk tuk. We spent majority of our time at KK tho. We did our spa in our room but we heard that KK is building a new property near KK for spa + gym. Overall, nice stay, nice food, very friendly staff. Rooms are clean (but we found some ants on the floor).

Lush grounds, beautifully decorated rooms, lovely and very efficient manager, friendly and helpful staff, talented chef, excellent location. Staff was quietly available for all needs. Manager, Chathuri, is simply excellent at her job. She is skilled in the (not so easy) art of hospitality and we appreciated her honesty and professionalism. Grand Suite highly recommended. Tastefully chic, large space, plenty of closets, comfy bed, good air con, large and private(ish) terrace perfect for a late afternoon drink overlooking the pool area and lush vegetation. It is certainly one of the most uniquely beautiful rooms we’ve ever enjoyed. We ate at the Sergeant House our last night, and immediately wished we had dined there every night. Chef is fantastic. Sri Lankan curry delicious feast.

Our holiday was so amazing at The Long Beach Resort, Koggala, Sri Lanka. First of all we wish to thank all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. The friendly members of staff provided exceptional services during our stay. We arrived to the hotel around 11 A.M and were warmly welcomed. Our arrival was an early on the hotel’s clock-in, however our room was quickly arranged without additional charges. The room, we had been received was so awesome. It was spacious, clean and quiet with a nice sea view. We prefer to mention that their cleaning service daily maintained a fresh environment in our room. It was available a safety box and allowed us to keep a peace of mind when we were out of the room. The beach is marvellous and romantic. We absolutely recommend The Long Beach Resort for paying your holiday with the awesome Long Beach!!!

We are so glad that we stayed at this hotel. Unfortunately after the tsunami none hotel are allowed to renovate at the beach that much so the rooms are at the moment not in the best shape. (For the moment is the only person who can and are allowed to build luxury room and hotel at the beach is the presidents brother).. However the rooms are okey standard and if their is anything to complaint the manager Rupaseena will help you and try to fix it. The beach is in perhaps 20m from your rooms and the restaurants food with the staff is fantastic. We went their for a week and tried several other restaurant but Full Moon Restaurant is the best, if you like fish this is a good choice. Its worth waiting for lunch or dinner here! A big thanks also to Navinde, Nowan, Harscha, Umesh and all the staff that washing and cleaning the hotel, you are the best!

I stayed here for 2 nights and was thoroughly pleased with my stay. Owner is a Russian couple and although it was off-season there were 2 other russian couples in the villa next to mine - they were very good neighbours so I didn't mind. The design of the villa is fantastic, concrete linings all around - very rustic feel. The owners also provided a very comprehensive guide to Unawatuna which was most helpful. The pool was a bit smaller than what I expected though, probably only 7m by 7m?Not very sure. Otherwise, although it's along the most happening street of Unawatuna, the surroundings and ambience is quaint and quiet.

What a 'Gem' of a place we discovered through Agoda! From the minute we arrived at ' La Verandah Di Serena' to the minute we left we were treated special! The owner (Chandran) his family and staff could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble! The welcome fruit juice was pretty amazing! We stayed in the 'Penthouse Apartment' which had amazing facilities and an awesome view of the sea and Unawatuna! We went to sleep and awoke to the sound of waves crashing! Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, from booking us a Tuk-Tuk, organising our full jeep safari trip to even taking us to the bank in Galle! It was our Anniversary whilst we were there and the owners wife cooked us an authentic Sri Lankan curry, it was probably the best meal we had in Unawatuna! We felt totally and utterly spoilt and are planning our next trip there in 2015!
