Taitung hotels & accommodations

My family and I were visiting from the US. I chose this particular Naruwan hotel for it's amenities that accommodate families with small children. As for location, you are just a 5 minute drive from the Taitung airport or Railway station. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle to the airport and railway station if you arrange ahead of time. The game room is excelle...

We travelled in 3 of us by rented car from Taitung train station. It takes about 20 min car drive from taitung train station to this hotel. We would like to pick a hotel with good hotspring facility and the onsen is located in rooftop. The hotel looks great and quite modern appeal. Very quiet and i like it a lot.

Although it is quite a distance from Taitung railway station, there is shuttle bus service available (advance notice required) between the railway station and hotel. Nice getaway from city life with plenty of nice eateries around the hotel. Voucher is also provided where you can use the sauna, swimming pool and gym at the main hotel (Formosan Naruwan Hotel & Resort) wi...

We stayed at this hotel on a Tuesday night and it was as advertised. No surprises. We didn't take advantage of them but they do offer free bicycles for use for guests. The beds were comfortable. The sheets were clean. The breakfast lacked some choices but it was fine. (Some other hotels offer noodles which we like.) The staff were friendly. We were very happy staying ...

This is a brand new hotel downtown. Very convenient to the bus station and many trails behind the hotel. A lot of restaurants in the area, even a McDonalds and Starbucks next door. I arrived early so room wasn’t ready so no problem, they took my bag and I went to the National Museum of Prehistory. Taxi was about NT$250. There was plenty of staff to check in and even th...

I highly recommend anyone staying in Taitung City to stay at this hotel. It is in the heart of the city, so you are within walking distance of EVERYTHING. The hotel itself is quite pretty, and check-in was fast and easy. It was very clean as well. The rooms are comfortable with large, spacious bathrooms. The wifi works fast, and is easy to access. The breakfast is deli...

one of the best hot spring hotel we stayed in taiwan. never get bored because there is always free activities tailored for different age group. we enjoyed the open air hot spring too. the only set back is that some parts of the building needs a little upgrading, such as the common hot spring pool. it looks a little run down for the price paid. however, we enjoye...

Great location just beside the bus terminal where I took the bus to Taitung TRA station, sanxiantai, luyehgaotai, duoliang, taimali, and many more places. Awesome location for travellers using public transport. Room is clean. 4 bunk beds (8 beds in total) with a toilet in the room which is more convenient. The hotel also provided bottled water, towel, body wash, shamp...

It is a hugh surprise to find such a wonderful boutique hotel in rural area of Taiwan, especially for places like TaiTung. The staffs were very helpful, friendly, and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was built right next door to the Museum and with free access to it. And with all these, the rates are still in a very reasonable level, even in ...

I strong recommend MATA be a Star Hotel since they provided excellent services during my stay in Taitung. It's so perfect hotel for everything as below: Money: Very reasonable. Location: Nearby the Taitung Forest Park and bus stop which very convenience. Cleanliness: The hotel is a new building around 4~5 years, rooms are maintained good system and light is shining. S...

The Hoya is an excellent place to stay. Rooms are large, bedding and linens are of very good quality. Breakfast buffet is one of the very best we ever encountered. The staff is very kind, very helpful and efficient, even if we struggle with our Taiwanese language skills. Our compliments to many of the staff and especially to Ben, one of the concierges to assist us so ...

Did not expect much as Taitung is a small city. But turns out this hotel is a gem, much much better than many hotels in Taiwan’s bigger cities. 3 of us booked a 2 king size bed room and the room is big. Bathroom big too. Hotel well maintained and very comfortable. Location excellent as restaurants and shops are right there. Staff very polite. Taitung is a beauti...

I booked less than 30mins via web under the rainy day with motorbike . When I reached there , they are ready for me . They upgraded my room and I am very happy that supper and breakfast will be provided . This location is the best place to be as it is located near night market ( close on Wednesday) and very centralised place . When I choose hotel , Most county I cho...

the food is used lots local raw materials. can see their sincere for the presentation of the foods. menu everyday is different as we stay two days there. we enjoy every minutes whiles step in to the hotel. the staff and the lady boss is very welcoming. appreciated that very much. free laundry, free bicycle, free snack, free tour adv, what else you can ask.. will be ba...

My initial QUAD room was a joke... with not enough room to even walk in for 4x people. Had to go up to the front desk and address this issue, whereby I was given the chance to upgrade for a reasonable fee in TWD. The hotel is well kept, and clean, but the room decor was a bit off. The bed was comfortable enough. The shower has nice water pressure for our 7th floor room...

The hot pools here in the heart of Taiwan hot springs country are heavenly. The outdoor pool was also perfect in April for laps. Rooms are spacious and lovely and well equipped. Staff are fun, courteous, and helpful. The one inconvenience is for those who actually want to vist Taitung. A taxi ride to Taitung is between 400 and 500 nt . However, a short train ride is ...

Pros -there’s hot spring in the room so you get to enjoy it -breakfast was provided but food was limited -if you’re lazy to travel out at night, you can make reservation for hotpot in the hotel. The seafood hotpot is fresh especially my family love the fishes. However, seafood is ala carte except the vege, fruits are buffet style -room was clean and spacious with balco...

After my great experience with this chain of hostels in Taichung I didn't doubt in choosing them for my stay in Taitung and it was a good decision. It didn't feel like a hostel since there were no dormitories (to my knowledge) but still is a very reasonably priced budget hotel. Room was nice, bedding was good and same for the mattress. The common space and kitchen were...

We stayed at this Hotel during our first stay in Taiwan 13 years ago. The lobby and hotel facade has been refurbished but the rooms amenities are still the same. The Spa area is a bit run down and many "attractions" are out of function. A makeover would be beneficial. Nevertheless, the staff is super friendly, the air is very fresh and clean and the rooms are so quie...

It's a hot spring hotel. Near the entrance to the hot spring town. Our double room is in the old main building. Room and facilities are a bit old, though clean and spacious. However there are newer standalone family suites next to it. I enjoy the hot spring a lot. It's big and spacious. Facilities for hot spring is good. Free for hotel guess use once a day, no time l...

I had a really enjoyable and idyllic stay here with my family back in December 2016. It's pretty peaceful and tranquil and is the perfect holiday spot for people who've seen pretty much the main tourist attractions of Taiwan and are in search of somewhere a little more secluded, scenic and less crowded. Highlight: The main attraction of this minsu of course is that i...

Great room with fantastic view... Very close to Railway station, a few minutes walk. However, train station and hotel are NOT located in Taitung city. Necessary to take bus from train station into town. Breakfasts for Western guests needs work..... Need something adfitional to Bagel singular, butter and jam. Eg a fried eggs or omellette option.
Cheap places to stay in Taitung

In the heart of Taitung near the weekend night market. Wonderful location, quiet. Quaint place with free usage of bicycles. Not my first time here so I recommend this place. You would need to take a bus or taxi from the train station, but it is near everything else relatively

It was one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed. Great atmosphere. I felt there like at home. The volunteers make so good and positive vibes so I stayed longer then I planned. I recommend it to everybody who wants to have good time and meet lots of wonderful people. But the hostel itself needs some improvement. First of all there are only 2 bathrooms (with toi...

Best place to stay in Taitung I think. Free bike, Free coffee and water, You can wash clothes for free. Very kind and helpful staff, they even upgraded me to private room coz their dorm room was full when I arrived. Near to the beach and to the mountains.. Will definitely stay again! Thanks so much Nick!

When we arrived at the hotel, we were promptly served and were in our rooms in no time at all by some very friendly employees. The hotel was by far one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. And I can not say enough about the rooms. The rooms were extremely comfortable and very inviting. The bathrooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The linens were fresh....

This hostel looks like a family/friends run business. For the price we paid (highest in Taiwan and during a weekday) I expected towel (none provided). We had to make our own beds as well which is disappointing for the price we paid. It was clean and had kitchen. However the water dispenser did not work for cold water so we had to refrigerate cold water. No universal e...

The boss was very helpful, recommends little money required itinerary but very much valuable than any tours you will stumble on. Teaches you how to travel around Taitung smartly saving large cost from my expenses yet enjoyed more and had more experience and freedom then other tours.

Short walk uphill from main street with great views of the hills behind and roof terrace has sea views. The double room was spacious and homey with bean bags and a little balcony looking our back. Owner was friendly, gave us lots of local info and we rented a motorbike from him. Cosy living area and equipped kitchen for guest use. Only issue was lack of Wi-Fi in the be...

On My Way Taitung is located within walking distance from Taitung TRA Station, where most buses, including those heading to key attractions (Taiwan Tourist Shuttle) and the city centre, also stop by at. It's an ideal base for anyone who wants to explore Taitung province, though not for one who's interested in shopping and/or dining due to the lack of shops and dining o...

A nice stop on Highway 11, especially if you're cycling the east coast. Clean dormitory and bathroom. You can use the washing machine for 50 dollars, or wash your clothes by hand. The owners were really kind, even if they couldn't speak English. They can arrange to provide breakfast (banana, free tea, and baozis for 10 dollars each) , even in early morning if you ne...

Was a last minute decision, as my WS host not available, but for a biker this place like home, a nice place to store my bike. Clean hostel with yes a good kitchen not just got water & microwave Aisan cooking lol 😂. Good hand cloth wash area or washing machine, so if only few things you have the choice, good store & restaurant near by. Staff friendly, would stay again....

firstly, stay at this hostel because its at dulan. dulan is a small idyllic community with front row seats to the mesmerizing pacific, and the majestic loaves of dulan hills. if you prefer a livelier place, stay in taitung city. this hostel is located at the seaward side of the main road, making the 5mins walk or 1 min cycle to the shore a cozy backyard convenience....

Stay for a night for Tiehua Village. Location wise is quite centralize. 5mins walk from alighting bus stop, which the bus will transit between from Taitung Railway station and Taitung Bus Terminal. Abt 15mins walk to Tiehua Village, Taitung Railway Art Site, Taitung Bus Terminal. The living room has quite a number of board game & books to keep u entertain, if u just wa...

Wonderful place for suffers or if you just want to relax. Guang, the host is so care for others and you can really make friends there! Enjoy the sunshine the beach and playing music every night! This is literally my home in Taitung. Definitely will come back again!

you don't really care that there is only a mixed dormitory. It means that both male and female travelers stay at the same room. I though it could be weird but not painful. The only minus is (honestly this is not Warehouse's fault) that the downtown Taitung is too far away from the station.

Great BnB to stay at! Host is really friendly and let us check out late without charge. Breakfast is good and delivered to door, they even gave us a local snack when we return to room. Space is spotless and welcoming. The aroma of coffee downstairs fills traveler with warmth whenever they step outside. Will stay again if in town :)

We loved the design of this place! It common area is just perfect with free coffee (really good one from a big machine), tea and snacks. The wifi connection worked really well. The rooms were small but with a comfortable mattress. We were surprised that the rooms (probably not all of them) were not completely separate ones from the others - in the upper part of the r...

Initially booked for its vicinity of Taitung Bus Station, which is actually the main transport hub, and right next to the current must-visit 鐵花村音樂聚落. Upon arrival, we came across some problems that our short holiday there would have been ruined were there without the helps of the owner and his family. It was clean enough that the bins were emptied everyday. As in most ...

A nice and cosy place hidden in a quiet neighbourhood. The female manager is very friendly and helpful to recommend sightseeing locations and general queries. The main theme of the hotel is cat so expect alot of cat decorations. The main attraction are the 3 hotel cats which are friendly and therapeutic to play with. I'll return to stay just for the sake of playi...

The facility and staff service quality is far better than most 5-star hotels in taiwan. The most unforgettable moment is enabling us to see beautiful landscapes, enjoy transquil time with family member away from urban life. If you were looking for a quiet and high-quality accommodation in Taitung, this place is definitely tops out among others. Super recommend!!!

it was not easy getting to this hotel. it's literally in the middle of nowhere. i had my iphone guide me to the location, which required driving about an hour on the cross island highway (which seemed more like a cross island adventure trail at times) in the dark, and i asked myself more than once if it were possible that a hotel could be located along this route. ...

This brand new BnB is as nice as the picture shown, with view of the ocean and the mountains. You can enjoy the scenery while having your breakfast on the deck. First, the room is spacious, bright, clean and with a very pleasant scent while we all liked it very much! Next, the receptionist ah yi is very kind and helpful. She was willing to stay up waiting for us we reached Tai-dong quite late around 930pm-1030pm. Would definitely come back to this homestay if I'm back to Tai-dong next time! Love!

The bike shop right next to the hotel is very good and helpful. Visit them if you need a bike. Sent myself and my spouse to the station to catch the train. Very nice people. For the hotel, it is a nice environment but extremely quiet and echoey. 15 minutes drive/taxi from taitung station. Not much to offer. Pretty much just a nice room to stay in.

The host offered to pick us up from the train station, has free bikes for us to ride around the town and helped us to book our ride to the ferry terminal. The accomodation is near a supermarket and a lot of famous restaurants are within cycling distance. The place is also very new and well-furnished. The host also treated us to coffee. It was a very pleasant stay and I...

Drive here if you can because taxis are rare and they charge a fortune and you can't really hail them on the road since they are not common.
Do ask the hotels on recommendation for food in taitung. There is a famous bakery whereby there is a long queue in the morning.
By far the nicest people I've met in Taiwan were in Taitung! Everyone was so helpful and friendly; even a lack of Chinese won't prevent you from getting any kind of assistance from generous residents! So much calmer and more relaxed than Taipei.
Most attractions are along the highway 11 stretch of ocean, most notably sanxiantai and baxian cave. However, it is recommended that travellers book a cab or rent a car as the public transport is very limited and waiting time is too long.
Taitung is a place for enjoying nature. Definitely not the place to visit for those looking for shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
Green Island near by Taitung is also great for traveling. The hot spring in green island is natural ocean hot spring.
It is a quiet place, unlike Taipei You'd better see if you want to rent your hotel near the railway station or the city centre You will feel relax and comfortable in the B&B
NOT A PLACE TO VISIT WITHOUT OWN CAR TRANSPORTATION AS THERE ARE ALMOST NO TAXI ROAMING IN THE STREET.
Here is very very local place. IF you like bycle, you can enjoy at here. and I enjoyed hot spring spa there.
Lovely countryside. Not much to do about shopping or nightlife. Rather relaxing and more nature-friendly trips.
Taitung (unlike the west coast which are pretty much more developed) is quite laid back and even though I didn't manage to explore Taitung city, I love Green Island.
Taitung is one of the least developed areas of Taiwan, so there is little pollution and factories. However, as public transport is limited, many people drive cars and/or scooters everywhere.
There is soooo much to see and do in Taitung. The area is simply too large. Better to rent a car as most shops will not rent motor cycles to tourists.
Attractions in the Taitung county are scattered so it's a good idea to rent a car. The hot spring in Chihpen is worth visiting.
beautiful national park, going into the valley head to chishang district, there is beautiful rice field alone the way.
The information counter at Taitung train station is very helpfull, you can get good recommendation of point of interest there
Beautiful city with lots of historical sightseeings, clean beach with gold sand, pure clear water. Night markets available, kind people, low prices, convenient transportation.
Easy to rent car to drive ariound, but avoid high season and earthquake, watch weather forecast before plan the trip.
When compared with other places in Taiwan, the city of Taitung is quite small. I would rather call it a town.
Rich in culture and a great stop for sight seeing. Take Highway 11 and you will be able to see the great ocean along the trip to Hualien.
Taitung is rather quiet city if you compare to Taipei. Can consider visiting green island as its an beautiful island.
Easy to get around the city by skooter or taxi, great street food, local produce markets are excellent.
