Split hotels & places to stay

It's a hostel, so don't expect a 5star hotel rooms, but it is really perfect if you just want a bed and shower for a cheap price in a super convenient location. I arrived late at night after the reception closed, but the staff communicated with me very well beforehand so that I had no trouble finding the key and checking in by myself. Also I left early the next morning for a ferry, it's the best location as the ferry port is right in front of it.

Probably one of the largest hostel I’ve stayed before. Hostel is about 800m uphill walk from old town which is not very convenient. The hostel itself has a huge common area and is beautifully decorated. Rooms are very spacious, air conditioning is perfect, lockers are big and towels are provided. There are also hangers which you can use. Beds are comfortable and you definitely get your privacy. Stayed one night for a relatively good discounted price or else I won’t even bother walking 800m to this hostel. Everything else about this hostel is perfect.

I like the hostel with its location, cleanness and staff. It was designed as a hip hotel but there are clear signs of ageing.... There is no kitchen to use that's a minus. There is a restaurant downstairs and I found that are reasonably priced, though I only see a menu with price tags only on the last day I stay in Split. Somehow I am not sure why they didn't show a menu with price on weekdays. The facilities are clean. The shower has good hot water. One strange thing is there was no curtains for the shower so water is everywhere in the toilet, and leaks out to the room as well. Though it doesn't cause much problem it is quite a strange design.

The room we got was very tiny and maybe more suitable for one person than a couple. Said that, it had all the necessary facilities like a fridge, kitchenware, stove, ect. The view from the window is very nice and the location very good. The house is maybe 200m from the bus terminal. It's a good hotel if you are transferring through Split or you need to catch an early bus or boat. I would stay here again for those reasons. However, maybe not for an extended time. The host lady is friendly and her daughter speaks excellent English.

Ideally located a few minutes' walk from the central Diocletian's Palace area in one direction, and the port and bus station in the other, this was a real find and highly recommended to anyone considering a few days' stay in Split. Tucked away off a quiet pedestrianised side-street, it offers excellent peace and quiet despite the central location, and both the apartments and rooms have been tastefully and sympathetically renovated, decorated and furnished. In addition, there are modest but pleasant outdoor areas to relax in, and Elena will come and meet you from the bus station / port if you email in advance (though she will contact you a few days before arrival). The personalised service, welcome beers and soap and shampoo were nice touches too, not found elsewhere on our trip. There is also a late-night bakery, market and supermarket nearby, making self-catering an attractive option. Great wi-fi too. My only criticisms are: temperamental boilers in both the apartment and the twin room; complicated and painfully slow electric safety hob; and the single beds in the twin room have dual headboards and are a little on the short side (I'm 183cm and couldn't stretch out fully). The double in the apartment, however, was fine. Ideal for a short stay, and would definitely stay here again.

room denis hotel is my best choice in split. the host is very nice & poi let and efficient for all the enquirer message before my stay via email, after check in, the host gave me all information i need and they prepared so well. room is so nice, not so big but good enough for a couples travelers, the room was room, except the bathroom is a bit small, the locations is so good! i would like to recommend for couples for trip to croatia whenever you stop in split. definately will go back again and stay in rooms denis hotel :)

The apartment was fantastic as far as location but please bring earplugs as it's very load from outdoor activity that keeps on going till about 3am. I was on the 1st floor so that didn't help much. I thought check in was strange. On arrival the main door was closed. Luckily I had a transfer booked so the gentleman walking me to the apartment asked the bar man at the bar across the path if he knew what time the door will be open. Mind you this would've been at around 5pm & they knew my arrival time. The bar man handed us a key! No room number, just a key to the main door & apartment. Lucky for me it was #1. 2 hours later a young lady in plainclothes saw me enter my apartment & checkin was All done on my bed. Credit card wasn't an option, only cash. No receipt was given either. I felt funny just handing over the cash to this lady, so she apparently called the owner who reassured me all is fine & she will email me a receipt the next day. 2 weeks later, I'm still waiting.

We had a one night stay here, en route to Italy from the Islands. The room was large, comfortable and had a washing machine which was super helpful for us!! Helpful staff, great location, within a five minute walk from the Riva. The only downside was that being non-smokers, the room definitely had a 'smoked in' smell which clung to our clothes for the next few days. Despite this I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived at around noon and was greeted by staff who had previously emailed to know what time we were expected in Split. Rooms Diana is on the floor level (which was great for us as we had large heavy luggage). Clean room and bathroom with AC. Staff very friendly and helpful with how to get around Split. Value for money. Private but small bathroom. Close to marina and old town (5-10mins walk). Good wifi.

We absolutely loved Guest House Maris when we visited Split in September. The house is run by a lovely family you couldn’t do more for you, a special thanks to Kristina who helped us out a lot whilst we were staying. The room was beautiful with amazing facilities including a smart TV! And the house was situated along a lovely little street full of restaurants and cafes. Perfect for a getaway to Split!

We stayed at Ivona’s place for 2 nights in Split, and had a pleasant time. She arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport which was a nice touch. The room itself was spacious with much needed powerful AC! The shared bathroom was very clean and didn’t even really feel ‘shared’ as it was always clean & available. The shower was especially nice! And lastly, the location was perfect! We loved walking around the harbor & the old city. Super good value for high season as well. Ivona and her daughter were exceptionally welcoming, too, and easy to work with. Recommend this guesthouse for sure.

Danijela was great: extremely friendly and helpful! The apartment is beautiful - kitchen and bathroom had been renovated and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location is fantastic - near the waterfront but out of the tourist bustle. I like the concept of sharing an apartment as a budget traveller because it made the apartment affordable but allowed the privacy not found in hostels. Would recommend a stay here!

The apartment is centrally located, 100 meters from the main bus station and 200 meters from the Palace area. We could easily go to all the attraction places in Split on foot. As it is in Split, please expect narrow cobblestone alleys and steps to get into the building. That could probably present a slight obstacle to those with mobility issues. The apartment has all facilities such as cooking stove, washing machine, hair dryer, basic cooking materials (tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, etc.), water heater, boiler, etc. The host is also easily accessible by WhatsApp application or email. We contacted each other prior to our arrival so that someone would pick us up at the bus station and show us the way to the apartment. Rates? Well, we came during the low season (April 2019), we were charged only EUR40/night. The rates will definitely soar up in the period of July to September (peak season). In the context of Split, the apartment's rates are reasonable. Nothing is cheap in Split.

Great apartment, spacious, close to the main bus stop, port. The owner was super nice and picked us up from the bus stop as it was raining when we reached there. He also helped me a lot even before going there with a lot of information which made it possible for me to make it a budget trip. He even stocked the fridge with milk, juice and cold drink so that we dont face any trouble. Amazing

This was one of the best places I stayed during my trip across Croatia. The apartment is about a 5-7 minute walk from the old city, close to a grocery store, and the bus station. The owner was easy to communicate with via email and whatsapp and went above and beyond to make my stay a great one -- I arrived at 10:30pm and she came to the bus station to accompany me back to the apartment. She had complimentary treats waiting. And when we spent the day in Split after check out she picked up our bags from the apartment and held them for us in her home. The flat is very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Wonderful stay!
