"Mandalay hotels range from cheap hostels to luxury hotel chains. This place is a perfect balance. We stay here often and because of the clean rooms with aircon and lovely wood decor, the small rooftop pool with a great view, and the friendly staff. It also has a decent breakfast, with some good western options and many Asian food options. It's also really easy to get around from this hotel, even more so now that three-wheeled taxis are everywhere. It's a great value for the price, while still having distinctive Myanmar hospitality. "

"Most of the hotels in Myanmar are quite expensive when compared with neighboring countries, and most of the time visitors would feel that they deserve more from the amount they paid. Hotel Sahara is an exception! Despite their budget room rates, they offer great service and most importantly the rooms are quite spacious with flat screen tv, cabinet, small fridge, and nice and clean bathroom. It is located at the corner of a shopping district and sits right in front of Mandalay moat which is a famous local attraction. If you are flying with AirAsia, the free shuttle service is just on the next street, less than 3-minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast is awesome, the staff are awesome. In the evening, a local Burmese noodle shop opens right in front of the hotel, and they have really delicious food at affordable prices. Surely it was my best hotel experience in Myanmar. "

"Although the rooms may feel a little small, our room had a working aircon, TV and fridge along with hair dryer and bathrobes and all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Love the fact that there is a kettle so you can get yourself a hot cuppa when you want. The guys in reception were super helpful, booked us boat tickets to Bagan, sorted out the transfer to the pier as well as a little packed breakfast on departure. The breakfast is substantial with really helpful staff as well. All in all, a great experience, especially as our first 3 star Mandalay hotel was a bit of a disaster! "

"I had some really bad hostels and hotels in Myanmar. I was very happy about this one. The staff was very friendly, the room spacious and clean, breakfast was ok. The program they offer makes it easy to meet other travellers and to do activities for a fair price. My only feedback would be that they could share more detailed informations because all of us had different information about the length of this activities. The roof top is amazing. You can watch the sunset, have a beer, enjoy the free cigars if you want, relax and enjoy your day. You have free water, coffee and tea in the hostel and I enjoyed that a lot. The decoration in the hostel is very pretty with nice wall paintings on all floors. I heard even better feedback of the ostello Bello in bagan. I can definitely recommend ostello Bello mandalay. But book online- for some reason that's cheaper than booking with them. Thank you for a nice stay"

"I have stayed in hotels all around Myanmar having lived and worked in the country for 4 years. The Link 78 in Mandalay is by far the best all round hotel I have stayed in. This is intriguing because it's far from the most expensive. It's what you would say is 'mid-range' in terms of price. However the quality of the rooms, the service, and especially the food, is simply the best in Myanmar I have experienced. It's worth visiting the restaurant on the top floor even if you are not staying int he hotel, the food is truly first class and not at all expensive. In the past 4 years I have stayed in about 15 different hotels in Mandalay. Over the past 6 months it has been the same hotel each time and I cannot see myself staying anywhere else. Well done to the Link 78 Mandalay - as a business traveller, you are the first hotel in Myanmar that has truly satisfied me and achieved international standards. "

"a very brand new hotel which is very clean, big room, and great service. Location is ok. Though it's not in the middle of downtown but you can find some small restaurants and the mini mart on the opposite side of the hotel in the walking distance. And as Myanmar's transportation is not convenience that you have to travel around by taxi, staying here is good because it's not busy compares to those hotels in downtown. Also all the staffs are going beyond their duty, they provide us exceptional services. They helped us plan our trips in Mandalay and book the taxi to travel around and a bus to Bagan with a fair price. They also gave us lots of info about the places' admission fee, the boat fee, the taxi to near by cities, etc. Breakfast was ok. There are hot food which most of them are Myanmar dish. (if you expect omelette, scramble egg, or sunny side up, they don't have that style) Overall is great, will definitely stay here again"
