Candidasa hotels & places to stay

I rented a villa and it is exactly like the pictures, beautiful and serene. They bring you tea everyday in the afternoon and pamper you a little everyday. Plus you get a free 90 minute welcome massage (very nice) The ocean view is a bit of a stretch for some of the villas (if you crane your neck) and as a whole the villas are a little further from the water than expected for ocean view, but they are heavenly nonetheless and the light is excellent and it is only two or three minutes to walk to the shore. If you want to be right next to the water the Deluxe Ocean view rooms are above the restaurant and steps from the water. Breakfast at either restaurant (they are both open now) is very good and you can sit right out next to the water. There were occasional translation problems (if you want wheat toast say "brown" toast and I was always guessing what would show up with my muesli,etc) but it was wonderful service otherwise and they were quick to fix any problem. There is a Germany-based dive company right onsite and they have trips going almost every day that you can join for very reasonable prices (I recommend Amed for snorkelling). Otherwise there are no "activities" organized every day, just an occasional special buffet night with a little live music about every 5 days or so which means life is very laid back. The pools are nice, and this is one of the few places in Candidasa that has an actual beach (further up the shore the water comes right up to the edge). The internet was spotty, which was disappointing, but when it was working it was generally good speed. Candidasa is a small town and you need to take a taxi up and back or walk 20-30 minutes, but there are a few convenience stores on the little road outside the resort and a little village to see. You can also rent scooters and motorbikes nearby (ask the desk) which gives you more mobility. But frankly I came there to relax and do very little and for that the place was perfect and the grounds were beautiful a

We found it a great value for money place, Quiet place right next to the water and a pool that big enough to swim. The rooms are big enough compare to the small hotel rooms, big toilet and show room with sink, TV , safe, fridge- little bar and AC , 3 star decent place !!! The bungalows are surrounded by the palms and you feel kind of in the jungle. Very quiet, family type place, no rediculious drunk type of people around. The breakfast and food is fine for this kind of hotel, many restaurants around and you can just dine differernt food in the new places, market is near with super cheap food and coconuts. Remember always bargain ! The staff are always friendly and smiling, as for me helpful, always responded to my requests. They are friendly nice people so I highly recommend them to be tipped as much as possible !!! Sorry if I didn't tip enough, it's just you fee like to tip everyone, our room was cleaned every day without us even noticing it !! Always back after beach and biking to find clean room - great service !!! Overall, we love it a lot !!! Remember, it's not a resort, not a luxury place, but good value for money bungalows, staff don't get paid much so they might not be always as preofessinal as at resorts but they are friendly, they may not be 100% good with English but it's all good. There is no white sand beach right next to the hotel, most hotels in Candidasa is like that, you have entrance to the water and the ocean is fine next to hotel good for swimming, white sand beach just 10 km away and can be reached by the motto bike or taxi, another beach blue Laguna good snorkeling is not that far. The wifi may not always work perfect but it's the situation with Internet on Bali when the rains are around. Wifi is good enough for mail and social media. Otherwise, it's always something better and something worse in differernt places, this place is great as for me!

My wife and I stayed at Bali Palms resort for two weeks in June. We were well prepared for the holiday by friends who know the area well. However the newcomer will receive excellent guidance from several friendly folk who keep the place buzzing. The resort retaurant and bar are very good and economical. Staff are excellent. Happy and helpful but not overwhelming. The associated Shangrila Beach Club at the other end of town and a short (free) shuttle ride away also excellent, Food in many of the restaurants in town is very good and very cheap. Cocktails and local beer are very good and cheap. Wine not so readily available and not cheap. Trafic is semi-organised chaos. Don't even think of driving yourself. Many late-model people-movers are available with competent local drivers and very reasonable rates. Numerous great snorkelling spots close to Candidasa, many straight off the beach into clear water and wide variety of marine life.

This is our fifth stay at Bali Shangrila and for sure will not be our last stay... A lovely location, right on a sandy beach (and there are not many other hotels in Candidasa that offer that). Big comfortable rooms and a fantastic friendly staff. We stayed in Unit 1, a lovely big apartment that has recently had the bathroom fully renovated to a very good standard.. We look forward to our next stay at Bali Shangrila

Because the beach has eroded, most of the hotels in Candidasa sit on a sea wall that looks directly onto the sea, but there is no beach. If you are somebody like me who likes to look at the sea, smell the sea and hear the sea but does not necessarily need to swim in the sea, then this is the perfect spot for you. This resort is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Some bungalows have an unobstructed view of the sea. The swimming pool looks natural and beautiful. I could not work out if it is supposed to be fresh water or whether it was in need of some more chlorine. Either way, it was lovely to swim in. The restaurant serves good food and looks straight onto the sea also. The bungalows are a little tired but the sea view and overall setting make up for this. Free shuttle taxi to and from town. Very reasonable price for what you get.

We had our pleasant stay at TBH. Upon arrival, we are being informed that honeymoon private pool villa pool has been destroyed by the waves and under renovation. We are being offered to stay at two bedroom villa. A little disappointed not to have a private pool but we accepted since there were no guest at the villa at that moment and we can have the main pool to ourselves. Magnificent view from all the villas, enjoyed our swim in the pool and meals to the max (they are prepared professionally, 5 star dining). Just a little down point that there were too much bugs at night and couldn't sleep well. If you are ok not to sleep in air-con and feeling bugs/ itchy sometimes while sleeping, that should not be a problem.

While the Alila Manggis is one of the older resorts under the Alila brand name, I found it homely, cozy and completely unpretentious. It was also an excellent location to completely relax and chill out as it is in a secluded location far far away from the crowds. For those who enjoy the nightlife, you might want to stay away from here because even in the nearest town (Candidasa is 10 mins, and 20000 Rp on a motorbike away) everything winds down by about 9pm. If you want to find time to read a book or just ruminate over life, the Alila Manggis is well-equipped to provide you with the most conducive environs. It has a beautiful room with a daybed on which you can lounge if you are wary of melanoma. If not, laze by the pool. I must commend the pool staff for their attentiveness. Towels are laid out on the taning decks at the sight of guests approaching the pool, so you never have to toss in someone else's residual tanning lotion/sun block. However, if you prefer lazing by the beach, then you'd better head towards the white sandy beach 5-10 mins away which some other reviewers have mentioned but I havne't found. Alternatively, head to Candidasa and there'll be many operators offering a whole host of activities you can engage in on a stretch of white sandy beach about half an hour from Candidasa by boat. These same operators will have other suggestions for you at a much lower rate than the hotel. However, if like me, all you want is a well-appointed hotel to chill out and relax, just relax within the compounds of the Alila Manggis and enjoy the room service (which though not inexpensive, is of much higher quality than the food you'd find in Candidasa).

This little gem hotel in Candidasa is simply fantastic. We were a group of 6 mid forties staying for a week. Candidasa suits the quiet, mellow traveller. The staff couldn't do enough for us and they are so friendly and helpful. Beautiful vista, clean rooms and perfect location. The only critism would be our room had no wardrobe or drawers for small items. The single beds are skinny but that was ok for us. A big fat person would struggle. All in all, i will head back here any day.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sagara. The room is very tastefully decorated and very large with great Aircon and cable TV (with all the channels). The pool area is very pretty with great views and nice beds in the sun or shade. We walked to a few beach bars close by and dinner at Vincent's just up the road was a highlight, some of the best food and service we have had in Bali. Please note on the 2nd floor side there is some construction work going on next door which woke us up early. If you are looking for a sleep-in I would suggest booking a downstairs room.

Straight away upon arriving you're made to feel welcome in the huge open space lobby. The staff are friendly, attentive and experienced. The hotel has various types of rooms from standard to individual bungalows. The complex is situated away from the main busy road which runs through Candidasa. Worth baring in mind as although there are pavements they're not easy to walk and daytime traffic is heavy and loud. We stayed in a pool/seaview bungalow which was equipped with all mod cons including a large bathroom. Sadly we had some issues with the hot water supply. First running out very quickly and then upon advice of the engineer who came out swiftly waited 20 min for the water to be scorching hot including the cold water supply... The next morning it all seemed to be working fine again so we put it down as to blame the room number... 213. Best thing about the hotel is its pool and the surrounding gardens. Bring a book and relax on a lounger with a a drink or enjoy one of the free activities. Baring in mind that the prices of drinks, food etc are reflecting this luxurious resort and are expensive. Their are however numerous alternatives if you fancy wandering out of the hotel.

Generally not writing feedbacks on hotels, but we want to make an exception this time. Truly appreciated the quality of this small hotel (15 rooms) facing the sea, with very well maintained premisses. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, all staff very positive and eager to help. The hotel is a bit off-road. If you want to be quiet this is the place, and Candidasa main street is still in a walking distance. Food is very good quality, and we appreciated a breakfast that is offering the right size of choices without the plethora of certain buffets (meaning waste we believe) Last but not least, we booked a first time end of November '17 and had to cancel in the last minute due to Mount Agung eruption. The hotel made zero hassle to refund our reservation at the time even if our booking was normally non-refundable. Highly recommend the place then on their customer oriented attitude.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days here. Quieter less tourist area with plenty of time to relax and unwind. Spent an entire day wandering around the Water Gardens next door and a day walking around the local village known for its brick making. Although we could not speak Indonesian and the locals could not speak English we communicated ok to learn how the brick making was done. The hotel was clean and well presented and we could not fault the staff who were very happy to interact and practice their English. This accommodation has a traineeship programme for the local youth and we had many moments of fun and laughter being taught Indonesian words and teaching some Australian phrases.

Good location at the end of Candidasa next to the Lily Pond and lagoon. Very good size rooms all opening on to a large open area with Pool and sun beds. Nice open feeling compared with many hotels in Candidasa. Good clean bathrooms with inside and outside showers. Nice pool although a bit warm for us! French restaurant only had breakfast which was very good. Good value for money, would recommend.

Nice hotel in Candidasa. Very nice spa, Prices are a little bit expensive. Breakfast is very very big and very delicious with a lot of choice. Restaurant is very good. They have also their own boutique with nice souvenirs with very reasonable prices. They can also organise a trip with a boat to White Sand beach which is beautiful and really must to see. The boat trip was nice but expensive (600000 rp for 3 hours). Their car was also a little bit expensive if I compare with others hotels.. Staff is super friendly. Lotus ponds are super. Every bungalo has an absolute privacy.. to recommend!

Villa Flow is very nice for an off-the-grid getaway. But It is very far from Candidasa or other places that have restaurants and other things to do. While it’s a lovely place it is extremely remote. The grounds are beautiful and the staff and management are excellent. If you are into a completely remote setting where there is no TV or alcohol (except Bintang), then you will enjoy. The food on property is extremely healthy, maybe too much so :)

Our room was not big, but clean and had everything needed, including aircon, safe and water cooler (though the water was not very fresh). Nice porch with bench and coffee table was a pleasant place to have a little rest in the evening and watch some movies on ipad. The bathroom was fantastic: in Balinesian style, spacious and beautiful, which is rare in the hotels in this district at such price. Actually the bathroom was the reason why I preferred this hotel, and I was not disappointed. What disappointed us was breakfast. It was out second hotel on Bali and the first one had better beakfasts, they included fresh juices, which we really missed in Arco. Another weak side of the hotel is it's pool. At the daytime the water in it was warm and not refreshing at all, in the evening it became almost hot and unpleasent.

We stayed here only for one night. We had an open bathroom where at night the monkeys lived so we were scared like heel but apart from that our stay was amazing. There is not much to do in Candidasa and the beach is black so we really liked that the pool is so nice and the hotel as well. The staff was so friendly and the food at the restaurant was stunning. Had my best steak in Asia there!

The hotel rooms form part of a family home. It is new, clean and you can hear and smell the ocean. The swimming pool is also a nice feature. The owners are very friendly and nice. The hotel is located in Jasri, not in Candidasa as displayed by Agoda. The location of the hotel was also incorrectly shown by the Agoda website. The beach is rocky, cannot really walk or swim unless you are very adventurous. We rented a motorbike and drove to Candidasa every night for dinner as there was a much cheaper and wider selection available there. We walked to the nearest sandy beach (4 km away), that gave us a bit of exercise. The main road - which is terribly busy and noisy - cannot be heard from the hotel as they are about 1 km apart.

Villa Mandala was a lovely location and lovely place to stay, the room was spacious and very comfortable, I think though it is in need of some minor refurbishment, the blind in the shower was broken, the mirrors were getting sad and the towels needed replacing. The grounds were spectacular and the staff so friendly and helpful, unfortunately I'm not sure if it was cause we were there during Galungan, but lots of things were not available from the kitchen, food and drink wise, but the staff did thier best with what they had, and the cooking was wonderful. Will certainly be going back.

I had a great stay at Temple Cafe and Seaside Cottages! Super location, smack bang in the middle of Candidasa. Bungalows were clean and comfy, basically right next to the ocean. Beautiful gardens. Amazing view and sunset from tables and lounge chairs outside. Very relaxing. Great food and service - staff were attentive and kind - helped me arrange transport to gili air. Fantastic value for money, I will definitely go back!

I just loved it! This place is a fantastic place if you prefer tranquility to noise and shopping. This is the place to stay if you allow for simple accommodation. It's clean and yes, the toilet failed but Wayan, the caretaker and his wife Kadep are there to look after you at any time. It's clean and there can be improvements but for this price it was fantastic. Great pool, lovely view from upstairs room, great breakfast and the best coffee which Kadep makes for you any time you want it. They arrange lifts for you and I was picked up by their niece from airport 2.5 hours away. It's bliss and serenity! I will be back!!

From the lovely welcome complete with a tasty tropical flower adorned juice to the fond farewells , my four days there're were blissful. The grounds are immaculate, the gardens lush, the individual cottages are beautiful and culturally conceived and the private beach area is a perfect place to recline and have everything brought to you!! If I have a negative remark it would be that my bathroom was very dated but maybe my cottage was less new. But who cares! I was only in the room ( Which did have a/c!!) to shower ( hot water ) and sleep. It's a lovely place and you can't beat the price!
