Location, location, location ”
In the world of real estate it's all about location, and this unit is extremely well located right in Old Town. Plenty of places to walk to for food, plus you can get to the Kinta River Walk in just a few minutes. Security is important so there is a gate at the front, and their rooms are pretty decent size. With that said, they need some repairs and improvements. The day we arrived the shower was dripping and we were told we just had to deal with it. We put something underneath it to dampen the noise, but 2 days before we left we were told that we could not use the shower since it was leaking into the unit below, so we had to use the one next door. We had some problems with the air conditioning, but overall it kept us cool. The walls are crumbling as are the windowsills, but it does give it some character! One significant challenge is the height difference between the floor and the toilet/ shower. It's about 15" or so and hard on old knees, but they brought up a step to help. Over the years there has been a lot of efforts to take an old building and bring it up to modern standards, so it's still a work in progress. Being in the center of town was very cool, watching the action, and we would stay there again. We never used the pool, but that is a nice bonus and not very common. We had some disagreements about whether we paid the tourism tax, but that got resolved itself as we were leaving. The proprietor, Andy, was quite nice, and even though they were not proactive, they listened to our concerns and complaints and addressed them. Meanwhile the upstairs room area, which is covered, is comfortable, with nice places to lounge around, plus there's a fridge, water machine, and sink.

Our stay at this property was fantastic! The value for money was exceptional, with affordable rates that exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect, offering easy access to shopping areas and transportation options. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The facilities were decent, although there were a few areas that could have been cleaner. Despite this, the bathroom was spotless and well-maintained. We had a comfortable sleep, although it could have been better. Overall, we highly recommend this property for its great value, excellent location, and friendly staff.

Strategic location, Plan B cafe just below. A lot of nice restaurant around, quieter during night time, day time a lot of visitor around. Roof top activities area are nice, with fridge as well. Counter won’t open before 3pm, so no use come early. Room design is simple, but only thing that we felt uncomfortable were the toilet n shower without any partition or door, only isolated with a thin / half see through curtain!

This hotel is something special and we loved it. Great urban brutal architecture, but with everything you need in your room. The rooms are comfortable, clean, good airco , great shower and spacious. The buiding is renovated in a unique style, like it is semi finished and with industrial cool vibe. If you want to stay in a hotel with an elevator and with all classic hotel features then maybe this isn’t the right choice. You need to take a flight of stairs, the industrial type. Not bad at all but not if you have reduced mobility. There is a small lift for your bags . We love our stay here and are glad we came, we were hesitating because of the mixed reviews. Only sugestion from us is to give better and more pillows.

We really liked the fact that the hostel is built in a very old building that used to be an artists' hotel on 1920... It has a rustic swimmingpool that saves you from the high temperatures, ideal for a dip. Andy, at the reception is very friendly and helped us rent a motorbike at a great price. The rooms are comfortable, and air-cooled, the only bud thing is that being a place full of vegetation we found a lot of insects and we had to use a lot of insect repellent to avoid being bitten! Recommended for value for money.
